This was a fun little date! I booked online for the open studio starting at six thirty pm. We got there at maybe 20 after six. Susannah was our instructor and she is very friendly. She had us set up and gave us some history about the place and also told us about herself. We cracked some bevs, she gave us basic introduction to the materials and we were to get started. Then we notice there are all these other paintings set up around us. Here, there's a class at seven..in the same room. So they were all doing a different painting then we were, and Susannah is painting one on the little stage along with them. We definitely got shuffled aside. Not the greatest way to organize things. She did give additional support to Husband since he seemed so nervous about his painting. We had a great time and they offer a lot of classes that may be fun. read more

Casually walked by Wine and Design with my GF while walking our dog. A customer came out and invited us inside due to two of her friends missing out on a painting session. She offered up those two spots to us and Meghan was kind enough to give us a canvas, with an outline, and offered tips on how to go about painting it. Mind you, we both have never done this. It was a super fun experience and Meghan was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in our efforts to paint the portrait shown. We will be returning, next time with a bottle of wine to share. read more

We arrived early to class and were told by the instructor, Taylor, that we could start early to finish sooner. After a brief intro, we began. A few minutes in, we were told to clean our pieces before applying copper tape--a step that should've been mentioned earlier as multiple people misunderstood and were making mistakes. Later, we found out they forgot to prep glass pieces for the bug antennas, so Taylor had to make some from wire. We had to ask several times for them because she was on her phone--possibly contacting her boss--before saying we were low on copper wire and to "be stingy" with it and "hopefully my boss will bring more". This was disappointing considering the class was prepaid at $65 per person, and we were already missing materials when the class is pre planned and they should know how many people booked. The boss eventually brought more tape, but those who finished early had to wait 20-30 minutes for the rest to catch up, as Taylor wanted everyone to hear the soldering instructions together. Instructions were unclear--Taylor didn't explain that all copper had to be soldered, not just the joints. The class listing before we paid said we could customize our colors, but upon arrival our glass pieces were pre-cut so that was false advertisement. Despite the disorganization and issues, I still enjoyed the crafting and would consider returning because I like the activity--but the experience definitely felt unprofessional and did hinder the experience. read more

Our family was all in town from CA & WA to visit our NC family & the owner Mike was so helpful & got all 12 of us into a class with the BEST artist/instructor named Roxie. We all loved her, she was funny, helpful, encouraging when we felt like bad painters, motivating & so patient with our 2 littles we brought. I HIGHLY recommend visiting this establishment & when we are in town visiting again, this will once again be on our schedule!! read more

Visiting NC this summer, we needed a break from the norm and my sister found Wine & Design. I wasn't as enthused because I had done quite a few of these and was ready for something else. While I didn't check reviews like I usually do as a yelper (I was just glad I wasn't responsible for picking an activity) I went on the website to purchase a ticket. What a surprise I was in for when we got there! Roxanne is quite the unexpected stand up comedy act. She kept us engaged and laughing. Her assistant Angela(?) was such a sweetheart and kept us focused and encouraged. We jammed to top hits from Pitbull to Beyonce. My dad joined us and fell right into the fun. The crowd was diverse-- different races/ethnicities, couples, girl's night, family, etc. I'm glad we did this. We saw a new side of this city that I'll be happy to return to. NOTE: The name should probably be BYO Wine and Design as they do not provide a glass of wine with the ticket purchase. We brought our drinks of choice, meats and cheeses. It's not much room for snacks or even your cup, but where there's a will, there's a way! read more

Being new in town, I looked up fun things to do. This came up on the top search and it looked like they were painting Koi fish that night. Even though I've never painted on a canvas in my life, my party and I decided to give it a try. I booked the appointment online and we went that night. The teacher was amazing! I attended my first paint party at "Wine & Design" last night. I have done the "novice" painting gig in Missouri (Paint Your Pet), so I had a good idea what to expect. Access their webpage to see their schedule two months ahead. It shows a picture of what the painting will be of or the "theme". They do have "Paint Your Pet", Monogram Initials, and various other creative designs (I uploaded a bunch of pics from their studio on Yelp). Our picture was a "Beach/Sunset Scene". Cynthia was our guide. She was VERY patient and dumbed down the painting. You should RSVP (and pay) online to ensure you have a seat. The canvas is set up and a few things were "sketched" for us. For our scene - the horizon, the chair and beach towel were already drawn. Although, you have ample room to be creative, this at least gives you a guide to start. As for the studio itself, it is a remodeled "old" building in Fayetteville's historic downtown. There are probably 15 seats in the downstairs studio and it is a tight fit. The entire studio is decorated w/ previous paintings - some are incredible! Upstairs is another studio w/ a much larger area. The do have the table to bring snacks/drinks. We came w/ a group of six and I found this quite awkward. Maybe because our group had to split up (should have gotten there earlier) and the food/drinks were on the little table (not by us). Not like I need my own tv stand to eat off of, but it was a tight fit in the aisle and getting up is definitely disruptive to others. As far as the drinking - every group has "one" pain in the butt. Unfortunately, this one was someone I actually came w/ who was loud, rude and obnoxious. I can throw back w/ the best of them, but not when it is to the detriment and distraction of others (or at least I hope I don't do that). The instructor was incredible repeating herself and keeping her cool w/ our bumbling idiot. They also have classes and designated times for kids. I would love something like this for my nephews - extremely creative and fun! It was $35 for our painting and their prices do vary for different events. The "Paint Your Pet" nights are more expensive and there are date nights too. You can schedule private parties, birthday parties, and team building events. I am no artist and the painting from last night will likely end up thrown in the attic. However, for $35 bucks - it was a full evening of fun. I would like to return for the initial monogram painting and for a date night event. Check the website for calendar, designs, cost and FAQs. Would definitely return and recommend! read more

We had a team bonding experience with our group of 8 ladies, our artist was Chris and she was friendly and very proficient at guiding us on the painting we chose which was on an advanced level (which we didn't know before hand), not a problem though because our team ROCKED it! They had A LOT of paintings, door hangers, charcuterie boards and outside front door boards to choose from (very cute too!). If you are looking for a team building activity, team bonding experience or just getting together with the kiddos, friends, family or a girls night out, this is the place for you! It's BYOB, although our group didn't drink, we did bring snacks and made our own non-alcoholic Shirley Temples LOL! So much fun!! Just what we needed! We will definitely be back! read more

I think your experience really depends on who the instructor is for the night. We had Roxanne and Danny as our "instructor" (I use that term lightly). They spent most of the night talking amongst their friends, talking shit about their previous classes, and being very loud and obnoxious - AVOID THEM!! Seems like the other instructors are fun and easy to get along with. But these two were obnoxious, rude, and made me never want to come back. It was so bad that at the end of the night, no one actually tipped them even after repeatedly soliciting...awkward but not surprising. We called ahead to let them know we were visiting and would get there right at 7:00pm, and not 5 min before like we would like. They not only made us feel badly (even though we called ahead), she loudly proclaimed she never got the message. Overall, very poorly run and bad communication within the staff and organization. read more

Definitely not worth $40/ person. You can do everything for the same amount at home. You get 3 mediocre brushes, a canvas, napkins, five squirts of paint, and two plates for mixing. We did the open studio which I would definitely NOT recommend because everyone's painting something different and you get some random instructor who is running around trying to explain how to paint a different photo for each person. Our painting looked nothing like the reference one, and didn't even really finish our painting because the instructor was stretched so thin trying to explain to other people. The music is very Kids Bop and the instructor is trying to act into it, but I just was not sold. Wine isn't provided either so make sure you bring some if you want to liven your experience. read more

Enjoyed a ladies night out at Wine and Design tonight. Our instructor was Lana and she did a nice job at coaching us through the project. We brought our own food and wine. There's a table in the studio to set up whatever you bring for your group, but it's on the smaller side so come early. The class was full - definitely encourage registering as soon as you can commit, and, if you have a group, ask everyone to sign up early. The studio is a little cramped, but we had plenty of elbow room to paint. The downside was we had to listen to all the other groups talking and it got loud at times. Overall, a nice experience in downtown Fayetteville. Recommend it to anyone looking to explore their creative side in a fun, non-critical setting. read more

Went with my daughter. First, our class time was changed from 11:00 to 3:00 which wasn't a problem, but upon arriving, we noticed that we'd been combined into a totally different class teaching a different painting. We arrived 20 min early, as requested, but class started 20 minutes late while the teacher futzed around with canvases, still drawing outlines, switching paint colors, and generally getting ready, leaving us just sitting there bored for 40 min. When the instructor finally started, she began with the other class first, showing them how to begin painting while, once again, my daughter and I just sat there, waiting. Eventually, she told my daughter and I how to start but gave us very little instruction before once again making her way to the other side of the classroom and teaching the other painting again. We were bored, frustrated, and irritated because the teacher was very scatter-brained, kept forgetting what she was doing, and spent next to zero time instructing us. She literally said she'd never painted it before and basically it was up to our interpretation. Our paintings were terrible, just like our class, and they both went immediately into the garbage. Had I known that we were being smooshed into a different class, I would've politely declined and asked for a different day. What a waste of 50 dollars! read more

What a disaster!!!! Tried to book a class last minute and was told that I would be okay to come a few minutes late but that I should book tickets before hand. Hubby drove 30 mins while I was on website booking the tickets. The site asked for a credit card to purchase tickets (there was no gift card option) so I called nine times (no one answered any time I called) to ask how to obtain tickets with a gift certificate. I am two minutes from the studio when they call me back and says I can no longer use my gift certificate because class started 2 minutes ago and that I would have to have logged into to an account! I could however pay with my credit card for the class. What a bunch of crap.....If you can take my cc.... you can take a gift certificate!!!! Too much nonsense for a darn paint class (at least when using a gift certificate)! Would be helpful if you would answer your phone and had a coherent website. ****** A discount code is not the same as a gift certificate regarding the account login! read more

Booked this for my husband and I for Friday date night. You can park on streets for free or parking structure. We had a full class and that was fun. Our teacher Bri was nice and cute and the drawing was not difficult. Everyone gets a canvas and it sits on a stand. We love how it's not just a piece of paper like other wine and paint we went to. They provided bottle openers and cups and you can bring snacks and drinks. The class is 2 hrs and the time surely flew by! We had so much fun! read more

I can't remember our class teachers name but she was so sweet. My friend and I signed up for a class that started at 7. It took forever for me to find parking nearby so I thought the class would start without us. I was so happy when we walked in to find the class waiting for a couple more people. Phew! What a relief. I also brought my daughter with me in my Tula as I breastfeed and wasn't sure how long I would be gone. I didn't drink but there were several people sharing wine or just hanging out. Came for a paint your pet night with other co-workers that we scheduled ahead of time and there was a "mix-up" with the print of my dog. When I got there, someone else's dog's print was set up for me. Then, we were advised that my canvas was "somewhere In the building" they needed to find it and then there was a "mix-up" with the printing company and they apparently never had it to begin with. This happened to me and 2 other co-workers out of a small group of 7-8. I left without being able to paint my dog. Very disappointing, poor experience. read more

The painting instructors themselves were horrible and did not help us. They spent most of the night drinking and being unhelpful. The brushes were nearly destroyed and very poor quality. The paint was the only reason they got even the one star. Overall, this is a unwell business with bad communication within. Avoid this branch!! read more
