We've done a few of these before and really enjoyed them, always ending up with something useful and unique to us, like bowls, vases etc r this time was supposed to be bird house, but we went rogue and made console holders instead. The "Taste of art" classes are offered in many subjects, pottery, wood working glass, print making etc...no experience is needed, it's truly geared towards beginners to see if it's something you'd like pursue further with other classes. Pricing is reasonable, staff has always been friendly, open to helping and supplies are typically always provided. We've done this as a date night to break routine several times and no doubt will do it again. Get your creative juices flowing and go try something new!

The cost is $160 but they do have scholarships available. I was blessed to be awarded one and only had to pay about $60 for the class! This particular class is every Tuesday night for the month of September. There are LOTS of creative classes available in numerous mediums. I'll post a few screenshots to give an idea! They also have classes for youth! There is a parking lot directly across from the building. Just be mindful not to park in any reserved spots. There is also some street parking nearby. The location is visually appealing which I appreciated. The staff members I encountered were very pleasant and helpful as I found my way to the photography studio. The instructor Sydni Bibb is very engaging, helpful and supportive as we all learn what we're doing. I drove from Charlotte because I had a negative experience at my LNS here. I had some questions and was hoping to match some of my Granny's threads and just learn more about my new hobby. For those who are new, you know it can be really intimidating walking into an LNS. I walked in on a Saturday and was greeted by two friendly ladies both who were so helpful. I worked with one lady on threads and she helped me kit a canvas I brought in. She also answered my questions and made me feel welcomed and valued. Which is important, because some stores (not this one) have this vibe that comes across as rude and if you are new you aren't welcomed. Also if you don't look a certain way and come in like a needlepoint expert (truly it's a harsh community to try to fit into) if you know, you know! This store is worth the drive and I left feeling closer to my Granny and more excited about my new hobby. Thank you for such a friendly experience. The prices of canvas and materials were honestly on point and a better quality and price point than Charlotte and the experience was worth the drive. Specialized in elementary school art education, Ashley encourages kids to explore all kinds of art media. My daughter learned to use chalk, acrylic, oil color in the summer camp. Ashley is very nice too. My daughter likes her a lot. We were thrilled when Ashley told us she opened an art studio. The new studio is located in a business park, very clean and tastefully decorated. The tuition is very reasonable. $20 for Saturday morning session and $30 for the evening session. She also provide week day evening classes. Some of us were nervous as we do not see ourselves as "artistic", but we were open minded. We brought lots of wine, champagne, cheese, fruit, etc. The two ladies who were instructing the class were super helpful on the steps and techniques. They reminded us this was fun and not to be stressed over. We all ended up having a wonderful time!! And by the end of it we were all quite proud of how our artwork turned out. Might even hang mine in the dining room! They have dozens and dozens of pictures to choose from for private and public painting sessions. They brought by fresh water for our brushes several times. They also use a fast drying paint so you do not have to worry about transporting your painting. The atmosphere was very relaxed and they had nice music playing as well. I would definitely come back for another paint session.

Even the outside of the house displays lovely colorful art in the form of a metal sculpture of a huge yellow daffodil on the front lawn and whimsical painted window shutters.
