Do yourself a favor and DONT ORDER FROM WINE CHATEU. I ordered 2 bottles of green chartreuse and 2 bottles of yellow chartreuse back in August. I received the 2 bottles of green chartreuse but didn't receive the yellow. When I called, they said they were out indefinitely (which I understand. It's hard to find it anywhere). I asked for a refund. They said they would do it in a few business days. Didn't happen. I called again, they said the same thing... didn't happen. It's now December and I'm super frustrated. Days went by with no shipment notification. How do you spell to ask about the shipping date. I got a canned response back with zero useful information. I contacted them again. This time I also asked them to confirm that the wine was exactly what I wanted (as indicated by the special color label). No response to my query. But the sent me a survey asking how satisfied I was with the prior useless reply. Contacted them yet again. Got another useless canned response. After 10 days (!), I got another canned email saying my order was in the "final stages" of preparation for shipment. Still no specific shipping date. And no confirmation that it was the right bottling. Finally, after two weeks, my order arrived. It was the wrong bottling. I will never use this company again. They do help you find replacement items but shipping takes awhile, and you may or may not get the right product. Customer service via email is OK. I placed a large wine order, they billed it to my credit card, but shipped it to the wrong address (a Texas address, I live in North Carolina). I had tried for a week to get a copy of the invoice, they kept telling me they have sent it to my e-mail but I never got it (not in my junk file either). When I finally got the FedEx tracking number from them, it confirmed that it was delivered to the Texas address. When I called Wine Chateau to report that they shipped to the wrong address, I had to call several times before I finally spoke to someone who could give me any useful information. I was told that since that was the shipping address on the invoice, they could do nothing about it. Strange because they had my correct billing address on the invoice but the Texas shipping address. I told them I've never even been to Texas and there's no way I would have put that address as my shipping address, they must have made an error. Who would have put that wrong address on the invoice? Very unusual. I was then told if I called back they would hang up on me, since they have proof I entered the Texas shipping address. The company was great at communicating throughout the entire process and my shipment just got here. This is my candy and toy store!! Love the service, layout, and the selection is consistently being updated. They also host wine testing events. That keep up with the new trends. I have also joined their email and points system. I come to pick up a few favorites and new wines. This visit I picked up an assortment of different beers - cinco de mayo. I still go up and down the aisles to eyeball the new delicious bottles. I actually like the intense descriptions on the labels provided by the chateau to tease your palate. Great eye catcher. Prices are what drawn me back each time. I try to compare elsewhere and it's just so much less here. I will continue fulfill my shopping needs in this store. read more

Horrible experience and false advertising. I order the Mezan Guyana Vintage 1998 as shown in the picture and description on the website. The company will send the less expensive 2005 vintage and blame it on the supplier and will not stand behind what is shown on their website. One of the worst online retail experiences I've ever had, having had to place 3 calls to the company, and each time being lied to by their representatives: first call - I was told it was in stock and in process of being shipped. second call - I was told it was not in stock and needed to ship from the distributor. third call - when finally delivered 2 weeks late, I did not receive the product on the website, that I paid extra for. They sent a cheaper bottle (vintage) and blamed it on the supplier. Horrible experience. Like many others warn - stay away from this place as an online provider. I ordered 6 bottles of bourbon/scotch. I was almost immediately charged for the full order cost. A few days later I received an e-mail saying 3 of the bottles shipped. No tracking info nor mention of the method/carrier, just an e-mail advising they shipped. A few days after that - the same type of communication on another 2 of the bottles. Eventually all did arrive in fine condition. So, so far this is just a story of poor communication. However, now we come to the 6th bottle. A few days after the others arrived I get the similar shipping e-mail about this last bottle. I wait. Nothing arrives after 1 week. I contact WC for more info and am told - sorry, the bottle was actually out of stock and had to be re-ordered - but that it would ship "tomorrow". That was over 2 weeks ago now and no further communication from WC. I have repeatedly contacted them for an update or refund. So far, not even the courtesy of a further reply. read more

They took my money. Then after waiting over a week and hearing nothing I started the process of having to track down my order. After a week of unanswered emails I finally walked into a retail store only to be told that they don't have the wine in stock anywhere in their system. I cancelled the order and eventually got a refund. I should have known better than to buy from them again but I thought maybe they got their act together. Wrong! I ordered a $100 bottle of tequila for a friend as a gift. After a few days of hearing nothing about a shipping date I sent an email. They responded by saying they would look into it and get back to me...nothing. I sent an email asking to cancel the order and they just refunded my money with no explanation whatsoever.
