I'd heard great things about Noble Grape, and have a friend who works at another location who can't say enough good things about the company, so I headed out to the Cole Harbour location, during their anniversary sale. I was pretty sure what type of wine kit I wanted to use, but wasn't sure if I wanted to do it at home or in-store. It was BUSY when I got there, but just had to wait a few minutes before I found someone free to help me. I chatted with the lovely gentlemen who were manning the store that day and let them know what I was thinking. I told them what I wanted to do and that it was my first time. I was leaning towards in-store but wanted their thoughts. They suggested trying it in-store first, and then, if I felt good about the process and was interested in doing more - I could do it at home next time. Either way, they said, we have a 100 per cent satisfaction guarantee. If I don't like my wine, they'll refund or help me make more. Sounded good to me! So, I decided to go with in-store and got started on the process. I picked my kit, went to the cash, paid my bill, and was sent 'out back' (which is just a through a glass door to where the wine/beer is made/stored) to start the process. They explained what was happening as they went along - dump the kit into the bucket, fill with filtered water, and mix. Then I sprinkled the yeast on and that was it! In a few weeks they'd filter it and put it in a big glass bottle. A few weeks after that, I'd be called to come in and bottle it. So EASY! They said I could check-in at any time, and call if I had questions. I purchased myself the package that offers bottle washing, corking, customized labels, and the little foil wraps around top (this is professional wine making, after all!) and am eagerly awaiting the call to come in. Now, I've just got to get enough bottles (only need 15 more) to bottle it up and I'll be set! So far, I'm very pleased with the process and great customer service. It's a special place for me as Gaulish polytheist Pagan. Little Mysteries is long since closed. It was once the biggest Pagan shop in the province or seemed like it. Into The Mystic has two levels but is very small, some would find it cramped but it is overflowing with things that invoke sacred Gods, spirits and energies. I think the bottom level is the retail shop and the top is for readings. There are items related to traditions such as Hinduism, Buddhism and ethnic Chinese religion, a small bit of African tradition items such as a figurine I saw there recently, Celtic, Nordic etc. I have gone like 4 times in the last 4 months and I find them lacking in Deity statue variety. Not a SINGLE Greco-Roman God or Goddess statue. Lots of animals, New Age Stone Age inspired faceless Goddess figures and Kemetic statuary including a gorgeous grand statue of Isis as a majestic celestial queen. Most white Pagans are ethnically Celtic, Germanic, Greco-Roman/Southern European or Slavic and I think it is important for them to have access to sacred Idols of the Gods of their people depicted in beautiful, colorful, mystical, idealized anthropomorphic styles. Statuary is very important to me as a polytheist, probably more than more mainstream New Agey Pagans. I wasn't happy to see candles made of palm oil marketing themselves as plant based when most palm oil is conflict palm oil that is gathered in a very ecologically destructive way. There was nice pure beeswax candles, even loose ones and packs of tealights. These are some of the cleanest burning and most respiratory friendly candles that exist. (My dad has COPD and I am concerned about the air polluting effects of conventional candles). I would like to see them sell some fair trade items. The crystals are not unaffordable, usually ranging from 1 to no more than 10 dollars. I remember Sarah's Spiritual Treasures years ago when I went there and it was open had truly cheap crystals with prices like 50 and 75 cents even and it seemed to have a bigger selection than ITM but ITM does not have a bad selection by any means. Their oracle/tarot cards and books are a bit marked up especially compared to Amazon.ca but probably more similar to Chapters or not much more usually. It's not outrageous but it makes me hesitant to buy books and cards here. A good place to look for inspiration though. They sell more faery stuff than mermaid stuff sadly but you can find items depicting dragons, mermaids and faeries. I wish they had Pagan events like rituals upstairs instead of only readings. Overall I am happy that ITM exists and may Rosmerta bless this place if She so chooses and help the local Pagan and New Age community find the path to their ancestors and the Gods of their people.

When you go in there's just so many adorable and unique witchy items to look at. Everything from jewelry, crystals, herbs, ornaments, bath bombs, tarot cards and much more. The store is also a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. It was a surprise to walk around the corner to more rooms full of treasure. Probably one of my new favourite stores in the HRM.

Knowing I needed munchies for the evening, I decided to head in. Pharmasave are a different calibre. They are all independently owned. This one, is very nice. New and clean, great staff and all the amenities you need, including, a nice souvenir /gift ware section. But I was proven yet again that assumptions are always wrong. Their pricing is just as good and they also take Air Miles. The staff are friendly and helpful but most of the time you have to ask them for help before they will offer it. That's alright though, since when they do start to help I never feel like I am putting them out of their way. They are happy to give me a hand. They have a good enough selection of products to choose from but I wish they had more of a healthy food section. They basically don't have one but do have a few products kicking around. And with so much space, I think they could afford to implement a food section. But at the end of the day, most things I want to get at a pharmacy are here. And given the fact that this Pharmacy is closer to me than the other ones, I'll be stopping by here before I go into the mega Pharmacies.
