Updated after our trip - this company went above and beyond to make my birthday trip to Napa special. We used Wine Country's Chauffeur services - my friends and I rented a van for the weekend and Drew went to his local Hertz office and got himself added to my insurance, with no hassle to me at all! Melyna was always quick and informative with her email and phone responses, and Drew was a real class act and a great driver. Drew was prompt (early, actually) and was available all day and extremely helpful and courteous. He came all the way to San Francisco to pick us up early in the morning and then drove us out to our vineyards. Melyna is the best wine country tour guide/driver out there! She is extremely knowledgeable and doesn't disappoint with her winery stops! The first time I met Melyna was when my boyfriend decided to surprise me with a wine country Saturday. Her car is extremely comfortable and she let use our ipod to control the tunes. After planning out my birthday, I got in touch with Melyna who was SUPER friendly over the phone and gave me an extremely amazing price within minutes. I had already mapped out the wineries I had in mind and she went ahead and made all of the appointments for my friends and I. That definitely took a lot of stress off of my shoulders. Melyna also made a few great suggestions of other wineries I have never visited. After a few days, we locked down my birthday itinerary. I was SO EXCITED! The day of my birthday, Melyna's husband Drew picked us up right on time. Actually he was a few minutes early which is always appreciated. Their car was beautiful, clean and stocked with tons of water for the day. They have a plug to use for your iPhone so you can play your own music if you'd like. After introducing myself to Drew, I could tell he is a very fun and professional man. Definitely doesn't have that "creeper" vibe some other drivers sometimes have. We all know, after your first two wineries, it's easy to lose track of time. But Drew made sure we made every single appointment on time. Which was nice. Wine Me Away was excellent - from the planning, to the pricing, to the responsiveness, to the service level, and just the overall experience - we felt like we received a ton of value and would recommend them to anybody. When my fiance and I wanted to take a trip to wine country, we had a zillion winery recommendations and a fairly limited amount of time - so instead of taking a generic tour bus or renting an expensive limo, we figured hiring a designated driver would be the way to go. From the moment we contacted her, Melyna was extremely helpful at putting together a full itinerary and booking our appointments at the wineries. She was able to let us know what was "doable" on our timeframe on budget, and what would be a stretch. She picked us up early and gave us an overview of the day. While driving to each location she would give us a bit of history about the winery and the locations, pointing out fun landmarks along the way. She definitely know the staff at each location, which made it a very seamless transition from one to the next. It helps to have someone that will keep you on time, particularly as you consume more and more wine. I will say that we threw her several curveballs as we had some plans shift at the last minute, and she very quickly adjusted the itinerary to fit our needs the evening before at 10PM. She seemed determined not to let last second changes diminish our overall experience - it's rare to get that kind of responsiveness at that hour when everything has already been agreed on. Melyna did a fabulous job organizing a 7 hour wine country tour through the russian river valley for 5 of us. From the first time I sent her an email through the completion of our trip, Melyna was quick to respond, easy to work with, had great ideas, and put together a fabulous itinerary for us. So, absolutely hate to speak negatively of a business...but had a terrible experience trying to make a wine tour. Long story short Melyna wanted to go one way I wanted to go another way. Bear in mind this was not for me, but for my parent's anniversary. Yes, she is very knowledgable of the Napa-Sonoma area, so that was helpful. But, I was devastated she cancelled the tour because I wanted to plan inexpensive wineries and I wanted to figure out the wineries so that it would be special. Also, she said I got "defensive" cause I wasn't agreeing with going to a different area of the Valley, yes I'm not familiar with the valley, but I was giving several wineries that I was interested in and I wanted them to go a good amount of wineries. So, if I'm spending hundreds of dollars on a wine tour, I would want my parents to see/ experience as many wineries as possible and it wasn't justifiable if they would only make it to 3 in an eight hour tour. Yes, it's a busy weekend, but it's always busy in Napa. If I would do it over, I would have her choose the wineries. But, the way I(the customer) was treated was not that great and I didn't think it was a great business ethic. I have been taught what's good customer service versus bad, so I understand how it should go, especially since this is for such a special occasion. It's unfortunate that I don't get to use her services. But she gives out good deals and was going to give me a good one, so a very reasonable chauffeur/touring service in Napa-Sonoma!! He contacted Melyna and she was super quick to respond and was very helpful. She helped him put together an incredible few days in Napa for us.
