We had no idea how much we'd learn and just how much fun we would have! Neither of us are regular bikers, but with the e-bikes we kept up without any issues. The wineries and cheese shops were high quality and perfectly spaced apart throughout the day. This will always be our first recommendation to anyone planning a trip to wine country!

If Platypus keeps up the experience we had, that 4.8 will go even higher. Our driver, Gary, was personable and accommodating. He gave us some info along the drive to three boutique wineries, but did not drone on and on as some tour drivers can do. This allowed the 12 of us to chat, get to know each other a bit more and build some rapport. We stopped at three wineries: Rutherford Ranch, Ghost Block and Backstage. Each gave us 4 to 5 tastings. At Ghost Block, we also had a very nice box lunch. By the end of the tour (it was all day), we had all had some wonderful conversations and experienced some great boutique wineries. If you are in Napa, I highly recommend Platypus!

She set us up with a tour of 4 top wineries which was just right for the day. Our tour guide and driver was Doug, and he was friendly, knowledgable and helpful. He seemed to know when to throw in some interesting tidbits about the history and wineries in the region, and when to give us time to enjoy the scenery and talk amongst ourselves. I really loved their strawberry lavender lemonade and shortbread thumbprint cookies! The cookies have a strawberry lavender jam center. The lemonade had a great balance of flavor and is so refreshing on a hot day. Turns out we visited when most of the lavender was harvested. I will try to make it back again next time in May or June so I can catch a glimpse of the lavender farm when it's full! It was cool to learn that there were many varieties including white lavender. There was still a section with plenty of purple lavender where we got to take some pictures and my friend trimmed her own little bouquet of lavender for her mom. I highly recommend visiting this farm if you're in the area.

The Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley Tour was a great experience. Wil, our tour guide, was very friendly, fun, and accommodating. We really enjoyed being picked up at our hotel then having a brief historic tour of downtown Sonoma before we visited the wineries. Each winery was different which gave us a good taste of what wineries in the downtown Sonoma area offered. Each had a mini tour with wine tastings along the way. They were unique to the winery, very informational and well done. Our fabulous lunch was catered by the The Girl and the Fig, which is one of the more popular restaurants in Sonoma. We even had a few additional surprises which was a mini concert by one of the vineyard owners and a surprise appearance by Jill, also known as Trolley Dolly. They made our visit to Sonoma a pleasant and memorable experience. This was such a fun way to spend a day with friends in wine country. read more

My wife and I was lucky enough to spend a day with Paul (our guide and driver) and 11 other people on the wine trolley on a Tuesday in July 2018. I would totally do it again and recommend it to everyone interested. The trip included a visit to four wineries including winery tours, vineyard exploration and wine tasting. The first tasting of the day was included in the price as well as lunch. We also got a sweet exclusive discount for being on the trolley and every winery gave us a "bonus tasting". Everyone onboard were super friendly as well as Paul our driver who is awesome and very knowledgeable. The ability to leave our keys at home, have access to some of the best wineries in the valley, have some private tastings and the knowledge of the guide made this tour a no brainer! WOW! Have done alot of wine tours but never like this. Open air trolley, knowledgeable guide. I went on the Sonoma wine tour with 4 stops and lunch it was a day well spent and I even went back the next day as they had 3 other wineries offered, and I did not mind going back to Imagery Winery. Think about this 8 wineries in two days and I never had to drive at all. Best value I could of gotten. read more

Our server, Patrick, was personable, knowledgeable, and truly went above and beyond. He gave us a great understanding of the history of the family winery as well as the nuances of the various wines. He never made us feel rushed, and we enjoyed sitting outside, taking in the beautiful views--and watching the tractor tours pass by--while we tasted. Patrick even shared side-by-side trios of Chardonnays and Cabernet Sauvignons to highlight differences in winemaking methods, vineyard sites, and soils, which made for a particularly interesting and educational tasting experience. In fact, it was every bit as informative and enjoyable as other tasting experiences we've had that were far more expensive, more formal, and required advance reservations. The tasting room also features a wonderful selection of gifts and specialty items. By the end of our visit, we left with three bottles of wine (2025 Frank Johnson Sauv Blanc and two 2022 Three Blocks Cab Sauvs) along with several gifts and mementos. Benziger has a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere and is both kid and pet-friendly. We also stopped by their sister winery, Imagery, afterward and found it to be another Sonoma gem. We wouldn't hesitate to return to either.

Amelia were just absolutely incredible hosts with us. Mrs. Amelia, you are truly a gem and we were very fortunate to have met such a brilliant woman as you. Thank you for your willingness to share historical details about local areas, wine, and more. My husband and I felt so fortunate to have had this priceless experience, it really made our first visit to Napa/Sonoma memorable. We loved their wines and ended up purchasing three bottles and signing up for their club membership. I'd like to point out that at the moment we are not members at any other wine club and honestly couldn't pass this up. Nos hicieron sentir como en casa a nuestra llegada, a pesar de que llegamos tarde a nuestra degustación programada debido a mi confusión. Ariel y la Sra. Amelia fueron anfitriones absolutamente increíbles con nosotros. Sra. Amelia, usted es realmente una joya y fuimos muy afortunados de haber conocido a una mujer tan brillante como usted. I can't rave enough about our tour with Tom. Our group of four had the best day ever. We went to…read morethree vineyards as well as Tom's home. Each vineyard was small and unique. We got a real feel for the area and the wine making experience. We started with a tour and tasting at Glen Lyon. Picture yourself at a picnic table with the most beautiful mountains and vineyard as your backdrop tasting wine that came from vines just a few feet away, that's the experience you get with Tom. It's worth every single penny and I will always book with Tom when I "revisit". On a side note my mom needed a prescription filled and Tom dropped it off while we ate lunch in his amazing backyard and took us back to pick it up when we were done with our tour, it just showed what a kind man he is! His wife who got to enjoy lunch with was a real gem, very warm and welcoming. As a bonus they have two super cute dogs and their homemade wine was delicious!!! This was the exact experience I was hoping for and it exceeded my expectations.
