It is amazing how much detail and work they put into making it feel like you've time-traveled back a century. Everyone's dressed up, there are vendors and shows of all sorts... There is just so. much to do. I really love how every weekend there is a different theme. I believe the day we went it was Christmas in July. If you go towards the beginning or end of the season, there is a big opening and closing ceremony with the king and queen. Turkey legs? Check. Have a glass of mead? Check. Watch some jousting? Check! It was honestly impossible to do everything we wanted to do in one day. This will easily become an annual summer event for us. It is a great nerdy escape that you cannot find anywhere else in Kentucky!

I love a good pedestrian area, and we as consumers are more likely to go in places when we can leisurely stroll. There was a music stage and a small area for performers, and a few areas with kid centered things. I really enjoyed that all the businesses were open at one time. I've been walking through Nulu before and tried to stop in a shop during the middle of the day only to discover its closed. This really welcomed people in but also made some areas a little crowded. Overall I'm looking forward to next year to see how they continue to expand.

Compared to some, this one is actually quite small, as it's essentially held in a parking lot under one tent; but, it offers plenty of options! Throughout the years this festival has grown, so it's definitely continuously expanding, but it's all still in a smaller venue than some of the other festivals around town. Don't let that deter you though, this festival is just as good (and I would say better) than some others. I have attended and volunteered this festival, and I have always had a blast. There's plenty to drink, including local, domestic, and imported options. There are options other than beer too. You'll find ciders, seltzers, and more. So, if beer isn't your first choice, this can still be a great event to attend! If you haven't been to this event, and you enjoy beer festivals, I think you should definitely check it out!

The event is setup that you get a wrist band advertising that you are over 21 and then you buy tickets to trade for two ounce samples of any beer you choose. This event coincides with Bardstown Aglow in the Highlands so parking is limited and event is pretty crowed. Yelp always represents with bottles of water, beer openers, or even a yummy pretzel necklace. There is usually someone selling chips or water, but make sure to eat something before you arrive, those two ounce samples can add up quickly! See you next year!

I tend to shy away from this sort of thing because they tend to be overwhelming, and having so many vendors makes it hard to leave with a clear impression of any in particular. Also, if you're looking to try a new restaurant, why not just read Yelp reviews? That said, I think Taste of 502 makes a good effort. Events like these can be variable, even from year to year. Will it be crowded? Is the price point reasonable? And will I even get enough to eat? Our experience this year was that it's a lot of fun. We were already familiar with most of the restaurants and shops, so we weren't just running around in a fog. And there was no danger of going home hungry. Even as the (reasonable-sized) crowds dissipated, most of the vendors still had plenty of food. Lines weren't much of a problem, and you can walk around without clutching your plate near your chest. And true to the local spirit, more than half the room was dedicated to sugar, fat, and alcohol. In short, it was at least as much fun as a standard night on the town would be, and a fine way to have a good time, all in the good name of community spirit. I may or may not return for this event, but I certainly will return to many of the eateries it showcases.

An equal amount of food, drinks and desserts samples were present from what I could see. Wild Rita's had one of the tastiest desserts I tried. Shout out to Rye for their pork samples that were fabulous, and Cake flour for the a-mazing bourbon chocolate fudge brownies. There were pasta dishes, tons of savory treats, appetizers, salads, shrimp kaboobs, cookies, pie, cakes, ice cream, and brownie samples! And of course, a large variety of drink samples from wine to vodka mixes to bourbon. After being stuffed from trying all that food, we stopped to take a picture in the complimentary photo booth. Plenty of seating, easy to socialize, leave and join another table. It was crowded but not uncomfortable and vendors not difficult to access. It was a cool local event and fun getting to try out the treats of different businesses around Louisville. I definitely found 3 or 4 that I'm enthused to go visit. I look forward to attending this event again next year.

I have to say this is the best one they had yet. We bought early bird tickets for $100 each. Yeah pretty steep but it does benefit the zoo. There were plenty of Drink and Food vendors to choose from. Some were even handing out goodies. All of the food they had was very good this year. We were even given a case of 30 White Castle since they were about to leave, now we have lunch and dinner for next few days. Za's, KFC, Papa John's and more were also on hand. We even had a few favorite drinks, Reggae Wine, Mike's Hard strawberry, Southern Tier, and a few other places. What really made this great was we were not limited to 10-20 tickets like in years past, it was unlimited tastings. Silent disco was even on hand at the islands. When we got there they were out of headsets and there was a line of people waiting. We just as much fun people watching. I have to say this is their best year yet and we haven't been since 2021. We definitely had a great time and intend on coming back next year. We hope they keep this concept up for all future Brew at the Zoo. Thank you Louisville Zoo for your best year yet. Me and a friend decided to go to World Fest for something to do while I was there on vacation. From…read morewhat was mentioned on Google the festival would have over 100 vendors and and would be celebrated for 3 days, so it definitely seemed like an interesting and unique festival to attend while on vacation. On the Saturday afternoon that we attended there were a few variety of booths that we saw, I noticed that the festival housed multiple booths of the same ethnic cuisine and a few different booths, so there wasn't as much variety as I expected it to be. The performances that I saw were really good, but it was honestly difficult to enjoy the festival in it's entirety because it was so hot outside. I tried the sweet potato cheesecake at the southern food booth and the strawberry sorbet and the gelato booth and those were really good. The saw a few music performances and one of the cultural dances and I really enjoyed the dance. I really wish I could've stayed longer to see more performances, but with the heat they were spread too far apart in the day to stay longer.

Wow. This was a great local event…read more My fiance and I were wasting time, I mean, spending time together before we had to tend to some wedding planning stuff and we found ourselves at Copper & Kings on a brisk Saturday afternoon. I had never been to Copper & Kings, I only called them once about their venue space and then stared longingly while shopping at Work the metal, so it was a two treats in one! The outside space was filled with booths and vendors, all local and mostly Butchertown based. The Yelp booth was ready to greet visitors handing out much needed gloves and sunglasses in trade for a check-in. You know we did it. There were food trucks and coffee, and ice cream, and beer and soda, and hot sauces & jams, and bacon, and tacos. The list is endless. We tend to 'split' things so we can try more of everything so we went all in. We stopped at Johnny's Diner Car where a friend of ours greeted us with a smile, and pork buns. Can you say OMG?! They were little steam buns packed with pork belly, bacon greens and pork rinds sprinkled on top... my mouth is watering thinking about them. We also got some truffle Parmesan fries which were fantastic as well. Our venturing then took us to the top part of the event where we met several locally owned establishments that were greeting us with samples and pamphlets. We couldn't try everything, but that didn't stop us from trying. We had two handmade sodas, a taco from Decca and we left with 2 scoops of icecream from Louisville Cream #savages, ha. Needless to say the event was fun and filling for a nice Saturday afternoon. We ended up walking off our splurges as we found ourselves at the Flea off Market for a pit stop and walk. But we will be back as long as Butchertown businesses are going, we will be there to support them. You should too!

I love local goods, I love drinking, and I love hanging out with cool people and people watching. This is a great way to do all those things at once! Yes, there are plenty of local options at the event, but I decided to eat hot chicken before I came. That allowed me to focus all of my funds towards beer samples and full pours. Honestly around 20 or 25 dollars is all you need if you want to have a tipsy fun time. As the night goes on the samples turn into full pours and the full pours turn into bunny rabbits hopping(pun intended) through the forest. Not to mention that as the night gets late and the lines get long... some stands start meeting you in line for a "half-priced" full pour. (They still take tickets). Previous years left me disappointed by not getting to try all of the special tappings that I wanted. Some years it was because they ran out and other years the long cluster of lines can be blamed. I was able to try everything I wanted this year. Part of that was because I planned better. The other part was that for some of the beer they had 2 tappings at different times. I know this is a local beer fest and it is by far my favorite of them all. There are so many beer events in this city now that it's next to impossible to miss all the great local beer here. Wine and bourbon are here, but seriously... this is a beer festival! I think it's time to introduce a few more stands. Maybe have a stand dedicated to California craft beer one year. For the next year, choose a different state. I'm sure there are sales people for all those craft breweries that would love to come spread their beer. Once they see our event and city... it might encourage them to open up a local brewery in our city. The more beer we have here, the better! Right? And finally, to highlight one of the most awesome and random things ever! At the end of the night while with my lady and talking to the R's(of Michael and Matt fame), out of nowhere I hear someone behind me say, "Are you Brad G.?" I turn around to say, "Of course!" Sarah C.(We hadn't met at that point) had recognized me by the back/side of my head! She pointed out my long reviews and how she appreciates them. Sometimes I do ramble on, but I hope when I decide to write that they help people out in some way. I'll never forget that encounter! Awesome!
