The tall guy working there (wish I caught his name) was super helpful and pointed me in the right direction. We even had a little tasting of some. I was able to buy some mini moonshine for our Friendsgiving at $2.99 a bottle. They were so cute and come in so many flavors I might just add them as stocking stuffers for my friends. My best friend bought a nice bottle of wine. They still have good prices on staples but whereas they used to keep highly allocated bottles behind the counter only and if you asked about prices they might have a small markup from retail value. Now a glass case adjacent to the counter is filled with allocated stuff priced at about secondary market value. I can understand this from a business perspective, in a way it's just supply and demand, but as someone who frequents this establishment for its local feel, I would have liked to see them deal with high demand items by making them accessible to repeat customers via raffle or just putting them out for everyone at retail prices. Tri-Boro is located in Astoria, along the BQE highway and in a semi-rural location of the hood. The setup almost looks like a gas station, except the place is loaded full of craft beers. There no doubt they have some of the best selection in the borough, if not the city. They have had a lot of popular brands as well as some obscure ones, many of which are not local to the NYC. They have beer via bottles / packages, as well as via kegs. Their prices are pretty good for what they have and ordering can actually be done online. Many of the kegs range from $150-300 and the staff is pretty good about helping folks get it setup properly. The only thing they don't have is a lot of international beers. I've had to look in other places for more bulk type stuff, but when it comes to craft beer, Tri-Boro is as reliable as they come.
