Very clean and organized store with plenty of free parking. There is a huge counter offering deliciously prepared foods and deli meats and cheese. This part also has a small cafeteria where you can get coffee (cafesito, pastries, toast. .), or food to eat there (pre-Covid) or to go. The store has a good sized produce section with a section for organic. There is also a flower section where you can get plants and arrangements as well as flowers. The store has a seafood and meat department where you can still ask butchers for special cuts of meats or to resize packages of meats to your liking. There is usually plenty of cashiers and if you are buying just a few things, you can take them to customer service or the 6 self-checkout registers. Always find some good sales and good prices. This store was recently renovated. It looks very new from the outside, although not much difference in the inside. This store is always my to go place for my grocery shopping. Their products are usually cheaper and plenty of BOGO deals. They always have great specials on weekends. However, I do not usually get poultry and meat from Winn Dixie as the qualities are not as good as those in Publix. Everything is well-stocked and it is quite clean. It is a must to get the SE Grocers Rewards card. Well it is free and most of the products are cheaper only if you have the card. It also helps you to get discounted gasoline at Shell gas stations. The store managers offer good customer service and they are friendly. Other employees are sometimes slow and lack attentiveness, so that could use improvement. This location has been changing as the neighborhood is going through gentrification so I truly give them the credit for keeping up with it. They even have an organic section with great selection. There are some hit and misses in the veggie section. Even though they look fresh and delicious they can go bad pretty fast. Customer service can be a bit rough and they never have enough registers opened, cashiers are really slow and they rather talk and engage with employees than with you. If you choose to go like around 9 pm or 10 pm store feels like is closing already. Can't get ham/cheese at the deli or rotisserie chickens or warm food... so annoying. Btw I don't know if supermarkets still use walkies as a communication tool but screaming around isn't really a good way either. read more

Reviews for this Winn-Dixie seem to be all over the road. While prices on at least some things do seem attractive vs. many other grocery stores, the variety and selection of many items seems somewhat limited vs. many Publix stores. While the wing/ribs bar is a nice touch, the "salad by the pound" bar is really lacking a lot of standard salad bar offerings, and on the afternoon I came here, many of the items such as lettuce and grated carrots, cheeses and pasta salads seemed dried out and the colors faded as if they've been sitting out for a bit too long. Other items seemed to be bathed in oil in an effort to keep them moist. It was also a bit odd that they didn't have small containers of dressing for sale as Publix offers; I guess you're stuck taking away a plain salad and using your own dressing, or buying a full bottle of dressing for the same price as the salad you'd made. Things like cut flowers weren't fresh and looked as if they'd been squashed or were dying. They certainly wouldn't look great once taken home and put in a vase. One positive thing about this Winn-Dixie store is that they offer 4 self-service checkouts, which I usually prefer unless I'm buying a lot of items. A critical item is that, like all Winn-Dixie stores, they offer many sale prices that one can only get when carrying the almighty Winn-Dixie card, which I've always felt was BS. Just give me the lowest prices possible at all times. Don't make me join some club or carry some card on my keychain in order to get the same prices I could get at other grocery stores without a card. One oddity is that, every time I've come here there have been at least 1 or 2 customers that go to the chicken wing bar, snatch one and walk off with it without paying, munching on it as they walk through the store. It was my first time in a Winn-Dixie ever and I was not impressed. The staff is a bunch of teenagers who basically don't help anyone out because they rather stand in the isles and gossip. If you have a car and are willing to venture out a bit more, then this Winn Dixie is the grocery store to drive to. It's nicer and cleaner than most Winn Dixies I've seen; it's more spacious, bigger and cheaper than Publix, and has a "new" store feeling. What more could you ask for from a grocery store to do all your grocery shopping in one spot? I think the only dirtier bathrooms I have seen have been at the public parks in Miami Beach. Otherwise, the store is clean and the selection is good. The meat items are not well-organized. The two-for-one items are mixed in with the regular-priced items and you need to read the tiny print labels to see if they are the same because the rest of the packaging is the same. I can say they have a large selection of cooked food, and everything else that you would expect to see at any chain grocery store. Winn-Dixie is the equivalent of going hunter gathering in the 21st-century. The food is not gourmet but it is good enough to survive. I shop at Winn-Dixie once a week in order to keep functioning as a human being. You can buy most things here that are offered in American households. Bread, eggs, salad, bagels, laundry detergent, mozzarella cheese sticks, frozen Hispanic vegetables, Krispy Kreme donuts, that expensive Oikos yogurt, and lottery tickets. Don't expect to find completely fresh items here. Most of the stuff is medium fresh. Nearly all of the stuff that's on sale will probably expire in the next week. That being said, the store workers do a very good job constantly reshelving the store. If you want a quick bite and you don't care about taste, you can try their overheated chicken wings, the completely average deli sub, or their very strange out of place antipasti bar. This Winn-Dixie is usually fully stocked except when everyone is scared about an incoming hurricane. When that happens, the water bottles go out of stock within a few hours. Overall, I cannot complain about this Winn-Dixie. After all, I am what I eat. And since most of what I eat is from Winn-Dixie, I am Winn-Dixie: pretty average, but does the job. read more

Service here is not as friendly as at a Publix, and honestly, it's a bit scarce. Good luck finding anyone working the floor. At the bakery, I had to wait 15 minutes before the lady in there would come over to acknowledge me, even though she had looked up from making her cake several times. I just wanted a cookie for my kid, so I sort of felt like waiting was a waste of time, but try telling that to a 7-year-old. Crowds here are interesting, from somewhat ghetto people to middle class working folks. I do like their Winn Dixie deals, although sometimes, they are not properly advertised. There was a sign that said their jumbo generic cereal bags were 2 for $6, but when the gentleman rang me up, they each came up to over $4, and he could not offer an explanation as to why, as he had already scanned my Winn Dixie card, so I just bought one instead. Like I said, there were no staff members on the floor that I could go ask about this discrepancy, and the lines were building up (only 4-5 opened registers), so I just gave up. I did like the price of the Halloween cake I bought though, $7.99 and it fed at least 15 kids, whereas something like that would probably cost at least $12.99 at Publix. I did not have a chance to taste the cake myself, but my daughter said she and the rest of the kids in her classroom loved it, and the ghost decorations and plastic Dracula rings included with the cake were a plus. read more

I live very close to this Winn Dixie. I could walk to it. Instead I find myself driving to the Publix on Biscayne blvd. This Winn Dixie is better than you would think, but there are some key problems that make me spend the big bucks somewhere else. Good points: It's cheap Decent produce section Clean and safe Bad points: The lines. Expect to see only a few cashiers open, esp at peak times like 5-6pm. The bakery. Sub par baked goods that look like they were slapped together by a 10 year old. Over sugared, over-colored desserts. Poor bread quality. Selection. I was impressed when they expanded their organic offerings, but it seems like they have cut back. This leaves me little to buy for my family. My daughter has a friend that lives near this Winn Dixie and I recently stopped in to pick up some stuff my wife asked for while we were in the area. Compared to some of the other Winn Dixie stores I've visited, this one has ample space and is well laid out. There were many check out lanes open and no long lines, but best of all, they have self check out lanes. My wife became a member of the Winn Dixie Reward Card Club and you'll be surprised by the savings that can bring. It's in a convenient location to the Jackson Hospital area. read more
