I love Winners and Homesense. It's nice to have them both in one store. This is why I like this location. Every time I have walked in, it seems its always new stuff that has arrived, which is great. I always come in looking for something particular however always stumble on something else, usually for someone else and snatch it up since I know it won't be there next time. You snooze, you lose. The prices on some items (home items etc.) are reasonable but I find on some other items, like ladies boots are more expensive than other places? I find the cashiers when you are paying are nice, not super friendly but nice enough. I don't often see staff elsewhere unless its loading up the shelves or racks. I am not sure if this location has staff walking around to assist customers? Can't comment on that. They have their own parking lot and never have had a problem finding parking. Will continue coming to this location since I always seem to have luck finding an item, I wasn't looking for and must buy. read more

My husband bought a wrong size item here and was wanting to replace it with the right size and they won't let him. The item being replaced is still in the original box as good as new But they won't accept it which is really not practical and does not help at all. read more

We come here a lot - it is close to home and even if we leave empty handed at times, (not often) it was well worth the short drive from home just to look around. I find it the perfect place to get a wedding gift, gift for retirement, baby shower, kids' birthday, something for the house/kitchen, unique cards/stationary, books, luggage and the prices can be really great - look for those red tag clearance sales' stickers! Do not expect the store to be orderly or tidy - it gets pretty picked over as it can be busy but the staff seem to do their best. Tonight we had no problem finding a fun toy for Toy Mountain, a children's charity and by no means do you have to spend $40 to get a name brand here. You can set a budget and shop wisely at Winners within it. X-mas hours have this location open until 11pm right now! No line ups at check out! So, we got our needed toy and yep, I left with several things I do NOT need but hey - they had red stickers on them!!! read more

It's nice to walk into this store and get a Homesense and Winners at the same time. There are often a lot of options but the prices on many of the interior design items are overpriced in my opinion. Also, the customer service is really bad. I wanted to buy a suitcase there but I noticed that there was a lock missing on it, yet it had the keys for the lock. So I asked the cashier what can be done about it, offering my two suggestions which were to take a lock off one of the other smaller versions of the suitcase or to give me a discount for the defective product. The manager at first said nothing can be done and insisted both I and the cashier search for the lock in the suitcase. Of course it wasn't there. I insisted that I wanted to buy it, so she then offered me $2 off! What a joke, and an insult. I told the manager that I'd have to go out and buy a lock but you can't find a lock for $2. Needless to say, I did not take the suitcase. read more

I do really love Winner's- sometimes their prices are a little strange depending on the brand and markdowns by one whole dollar is also a strange sale. Don't expect clean or always nice staff BUT it's still worth the trip. read more

I really liked this location as it has a very good amount of items and great variety of stuff. The place looked clean with enough light, not too bright not too dim. I enjoyed looking at the different sections and although the deals aren't as good as they claim, it was good to compare. read more

I love Winners and Homesense for that matter! It is nice to have them both in one store. If I get an itching for some shopping, especially bargains, I go here. I admit, I usually have to dig a bit to find good stuff. They usually have new arrivals near the entrance to the store, usually I find something in the first 5 minutes. The selection of clothes can vary, sometimes I don't find much. The fit of the clothes can be another issue, so I highly recommend trying everything on! I always find great jeans here, some of the nicest pairs I have I got from here! They have a great selection of bags, my favorite! Even though the prices seem reasonable for the designer, you can still look at spending $50/60 for a purse. The shoes here can be really hit and miss, usually more miss. They can have some beautiful coats, that's my downfall during the winter. There is a good section of makeup, hair supplies, perfume and workout equipment. There can be some beautiful jewelery at great prices. The guys section can have some great brands and always seems well stocked. Homesense has pretty much everything you need for your home. I bought a T-Fal pan here, it doesn't seem to heat well. Every other home accessory I have bought, like my coffee grinder, I am happy with! They carry a great selection of throws and pillows, I bought a lot of pillows here during one of my weird obsessions. There are some amazing deals on sheet sets, at higher thread counts. The home decor section can have a great variety and some really beautiful pieces! This is a great combo store, maybe not the best Winners in the city for selection, but still a great place to find deals you won't get anywhere else! At least I usually manage to spend too much money when I come here. read more

OK first of all I an a die hard Winners shopper who has hit every store in Calgary, new and old. I bought a lovely pair of $100 pair of tall dress boots at the new Northhill store. The materials tag inside showed it was made in Eastern Europe and was difficult to interpret so I consulted 3 sales persons as I only wear leather.. Anyhow the price tag was attached to the zipper clasp on side. When I put boots on the plastic tag snapped off and the tag so was no longer attached to boot. I wore them around the house for hours and after my feet were in dire pain so I decided to return them 2 days later in Beacon Hill. Well I explained what happened to tag and had my receipt (of $250 in purchases) and I was told the sku on tag showed as being made in Canada not E. Europe. I was treated with suspicion and like I was trying to pull the wool over their eyes to rip them off in some manner. I was CHOKED and cut the supervisor off and basically told her "How the heck can I be responsible for the wrong tag being attached to a pair of boots? and how the hell would I know the difference?" I told her I could take them back to the original store as I know they would remember me. I was shopping at 3 other stores in Beacon Hill at the time and never had an issue returning an item to another store...Then she said...Well we'll do it this time.....Really????? I can understand policy but to treat me like that in front of other customers REALLY got my goat....Don't blame the store, just untrained mgmt.! read more

I was a regular shopper of winners for many years. I visited here today and could not find a single women's clothing item that was of good value or workmanship. Most of the clothing was thin and cheap looking, and the selection was very limited. Overall I was very disappointed and will not visit this location again. An utter waste of time. read more
