I really dislike saying negative stuff, but this is defiantly for the manager Lani I believe her name is. First off. I chose some nice lotions and they put them at the front of the store- ( perfect no problem ), then I went and found a tall and large mirror, so I brought it up to the front as it didn't fit in a cart, and I already had other stuff there as well. WELLLL, when I brought it to the front, she RUDELY told me to get to the back of the line to pay ( there was nobody in the lineup ) and it took me several times to TRY TO EXPLAIN to her that I can NOT put this in a cart and I would like to finish my shopping... so finally she pointed at one of the other employees who were busy to come grab it and move it so she didn't have to... then, I go finish my shopping... every employee was amazing there... but then, I was asking the lovely lady who was ringing my stuff thru where a good place to call my uber driver to pick me up around here with my big huge mirror and all my other big bag full of stuff would be ... big mouth Lani manager crappy attitude eavesdropping bad word human decided it was best to tell me to arrange my uber ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE MALL where the TD bank is.. under the overpass... ( the most ridiculous place anyone would suggest especially as a manager) to pick me up.. my mouth dropped .. ( there is absolutely NO STOPPING OR PICK UP IR DROP OFF THERE AT ALL )... and I nicely ignored her and asked around to get interrupted AGAIN by Lani... then she suggested me to go to the Library .. ok.. sure.. then I noticed my phone wasn't in my pocket and I couldn't believe when I asked her to please help me by calling it.. she did . But i have a 403 Calgary number and she was losing her cool by the second.. no other help of any kind with a solution .. so i had to leave my stuff there and wonder the store until i found it.. whatever - that's my fault anyways.. I just guess that I assumed she could have used a cell phone as it was closing time to help assist me promptly so i could leave the store in a timely manner.. .... So she had wrapped up my big mirror and I get home excited.. I start to unwrap it- and all the tape she used pulled the paint off the frame and now I have to uber it back there and exchange it for a new one, and i honestly am having a hard time affording this extra almost 30$ to bring it back and deal with her and then uber BACK home with the new one.. She is never helpful, looks miserable and the one time I grab the wrong size underwear for my husband she would not allow me to exchange them even though it was only 15-20 min after I purchased them and the box was still sealed. She still refused and suggested I donate them. read more

Smaller than most Winners but understandable as it's located in Edmonton City Centre Mall. I often walk here through the pedways and LRT connections during the winter on my lunch break. You need time to hunt the racks for stellar steals and unfortunately that's something I don't really have time for on a lunch break. That being said I've picked up snacks, aromatherapy oils, and even a diffuser for my office here. I can't be bothered with their loyalty card because you have to carry it on you - it's not yet linked through a phone number they can search at the till or a smartphone app. See you soon Winners, see you soon. read more

It's a pretty standard Winners store but it gets more picked over than most based on the location. It's good to have this type of brand name for less store in the downtown core accessible to the office workers here. I don't often buy much but when I do, it's quite convenient and it's a decent place to browse. Very transit accessible and with parkades along with street parking nearby (at varying prices depending on whether there's an event going on at the local arena or not), this store is part of a mall and is pretty close to many other local amenities. read more

I've been coming here for years on my lunch break as it's right downtown and close to my office. With Winners it's always like searching for buried treasure. You sometimes find what you're looking for and sometimes you don't. But I've always seemed to find a gem at this location. Usually always what I'm looking for and usually a really great deal. Most of the staff are average, friendly. But I have had a few really great experiences with a couple staff over the years. Some have been very helpful and gone above and beyond to help me. All in all a great store. I will continue shopping here frequently. read more

I check stop in this Winners quite often as it is the one within walking distance of my office. This Winners isn't at large as other ones in the city, albeit, I am quite spoiled living within a short distance of 3 Winners/Homesense. This Winners feels like it sees a lot more traffic and you can tell the goods have been handled a lot more. That being said, sometimes there are really some great deals to be found, if something suits you and you've got the time to carefully browse. More or less about the same in stores of this type! This store does have a lot less selection in all departments because of size which is to be expected. The lineups can get long but I'm always surprised how quickly it actually moves! read more

I'm usually walking in or through City Centre Mall a few times/week and never seem to be interested in check out Winners. This day I was looking for a specific item and decided to check it out. I usually don't have a lot of patience for shopping at Winners as it's usually crowded and someone in the aisle that I want to get in. The items were organized by clothing type and I made my way to the tops. It's nice they are grouped by size and easy to find. The selection wasn't great for what I was looking for with a few tops I found. The price was ok at $30 and marked down half from the suggested retail price. This time it was a miss and I didn't want out buying anything. I went before the lunch hour rush otherwise the line can get long. Likely will skip Winners next time I'm in the mall unless I'm looking for something specific that I can't find in the other stores. read more

I was recently at this Winners, and was appalled by the horrible service. My new rating is a result of one star for the service, and three stars for the finds -- so that makes two stars in between, I guess. They had a lot of great stuff that day, and I managed to find a nice top for $16, but while I was sifting through the racks, a staff pushed past me and knocked over my shoulderbag. I shrugged it off and didn't think much of it; it was a little tight in between the racks after all. A few minutes later, she comes up to my rack again, reaches over to exactly where I'm browsing, and pushes all the clothes over to the side. I looked up at her, a little surprised, and tried to continue browsing where I had left off. Again, she just shoved everything over to the side, did the same for the rest of the rack, and walked away. Now, I don't think I'm being harsh at all here. Isn't it nicer to go around the customer and resume your work, whatever you're doing, instead of interrupting them and treating them as if they weren't there? I was just appalled by that girl's service, or lack of. If I ever come here again, it's only for the bargains, I assure you, and NOT the service. read more

Winners is not the great shopping experience that it once was: I am speculating that there are now so many 'liquidation' clearing websites like Beyond the Rack, My Habit and HauteLook to mention a few that Winner's now has big competition in acquiring their designer left-overs from the auction houses. There was a time that I could easily find Moschino, Versace, Les Copains, Alberta Ferretti, Armani Prive, etc. I never see these very high end designer brands anymore but I see a lot of the low to mid range designers like Anne Klein, Kensie, Seven Jeans and it appears that Winners commissions their own 'brands' because you don't find the in-house brands anywhere but here in Winners. I still shop in Winners but mostly for soaps, shampoos, conditioner and perfume. I don't bother with the clothing racks anymore. read more

I visit this location quite often as it's very close to my home. Located in Edmonton's City Centre Mall it's convenient for those of us who live or work in the downtown core. There really isn't too much to say about this location. It's comparable to any Winners around the country. It's a little smaller in the housewares department and the clothes are usually picked through. Staff can usually only be found at the register or the fitting rooms and generally aren't very helpful. read more

Winners tends to be a great place to find major bargains on brand-name and high fashion, and as this location is so central and convenient, I stop in often to treasure-hunt. The problem is, so does everyone else, so more often than not I leave empty-handed. Likely since it's downtown and in close proximity to a million offices, they've got an extremely large women's section stocked with dressy items. The Junior Trendsetter section is pretty small and items seem to linger even in the clearance section. Lingerie sometimes yields great finds, as does the shoe section, which regularly stocks brands like Michael Kors and Betsey Johnson at huge discounts. Most of my purchases at this location have come from the housewares section; quality bakeware, high thread-count sheet sets, imported knives, natural sea salts, cute cat food dishes and fun stationary sets are always available in excess. read more

I usually like going to Winners if I'm looking to shop as an activity, and hate it if I'm looking for something specific. I can usually find something I want in their home section, but clothing can be hit or miss. Plus the change rooms smell bad. Most of the time it isn't too busy here, but it can be a real zoo at lunch when everyone downtown does some shopping on their lunch breaks. read more

I had always avoided Winners for some reason, but now I love it! They have an excellent selection of housewares and books (particularly cookbooks and coffee table/reference books) at good prices. I was also impressed by their beauty section, they had salon brand appliances and products, drugstore brands for cheaper, and even high end skin care products like Philosophy (which is usually sold at Sephora) and a lot of perfumes. I also saw a lot of nice shoes and handbags, but I had to minus a star for clothes section. There's just too much to sort through, and I didn't find anything good - all the clothes are too "something", too frumpy, too Real Housewives of OC-y etc. They did have some high profile brands like BCBG Max Azria and Ralph Lauren, but it was pretty obvious why the clothes ended up in a discount store. read more

They wouldn't let me return my item, which is under the 30 day return policy (I have 3 weeks left to return). The item I wanted to return is in mint condition with tags still on it. Three people told me different stories so I left. I met with my friend and her daughter who works at a different location and she told me the policy is you can't so no to the customer! Was I ever mad to hear this. I won't be shopping at that Winner's ever again and am returning my item at another location. read more

I used to be a big Winners shopper but I found my business with them has gone down in the last few years. They used to have lots of good selection from great recognizable brand names but I notice now anything that isn't found on their feature seasonal in style racks tends to be junk. However after my experience yesterday I will not be back anymore even for casual browsing. I was in returning a shirt that I picked up on impulse but neglected to try on beforehand. The electronic voice came on prompting me to go to till 4 and I came face to face with William. He shot me a look and didn't even greet me as I approached so I stuttered out a greeting and let him know I was there to return a shirt. He then proceeded to mutter something at me and when I responded with "pardon me what was that?" he then hollered at me "WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT". Shocked and eager to get the heck out of there I told him the material was itchy and I wasn't going to be able to keep it. This was met with another bellow of "YOU WERE WEARING THIS!?" Resisting the urge to leap across the counter at this point I informed him that no I had not worn it I just quickly tried it on when I got home as I neglected to do it in the store. He then opened his till counted out seventeen dollars IN CHANGE even though I could see fives in his till and slammed the drawer shut. Goodbye Winners...I got better service from that mechanical voice that told me which till to go to then I got from your human staff. read more

I rarely come to this location but when I do I've managed to grab a few decent items each time. After my experience today I will never set foot in there again. With the exception of one lovely young lady...every cashier appeared like they would rather be anywhere but there. The girl helping me with my return was alright... But the woman she called over I was absolutely appalled by. She was rude and dismissive to me and while I was waiting for my transaction to be completed she loudly complained to another cashier about a customer she had to go do a price check for and the fact that the customer didn't end up purchasing the item. " after all that he didn't end up getting it?!" Verbatim. Excuse me but that is part of the job description.. Helping customers. It was disgusting to deal with her and to witness her behaviour of other customers. Her name is Kathy. And Kathy is the one reason I will never shop at that store again read more

I don't think you can beat the value at Winners. I find it's really good for men's dress clothes, work clothes, etc. If you stop by often enough you'll find more than few steals. read more

Customer service at this location is HORRIBLE. The cashiers really need to step up their game and start being a lot friendlier and quicker at what they do, especially if there are four registers open but LONG lines of people. read more

Had a truly horrendous customer service experience here. Below is the complaint I sent to Winners at their "feedback" link. Nobody in the store would give me an email contact to management or head office even though I specifically told them I felt a written record was essential to regaining my goodwill. "It is truly a shame that one person feels so embittered by her job that she needs to undo the hard work and dedication of thousands of TJX employees across North America. My own customer service employment has taken me from Vancouver to Toronto, New York to LA. I have worked behind the till, and shopped in front of it. Customer Service is hard; I get that. That said, NEVER before have I experienced such an awful treatment at the hands of an employee; not at Winners, not ANYWHERE. In fact, just yesterday I shopped at a different location, where Daniella told me it was her first day, and I had a pleasant chat with a few staff members about my purchase. (Store#0316 / Trans#104269) I wasn't able to find what I was searching for, so today I decided to try visiting Edmonton's City Center Winners location, a place I have shopped on numerous occasions. After today, I will not be going back. I am a conscientious person, and from my own history I know that we are all human. I am the sort who tries to engage staff, or at the very least shows gratitude with proper manners. I am also the sort who always brings my own bags, and tries to make things as easy on staff as possible. Ironically, that was the start of my trouble today. I was glad to have found variety of merchandise. The fitting room attendant was helpful, and I narrowed my selections to about a $300 purchase. At about 11:30AM (September 26th/15), I brought those items to Anita C. It gave me pause that she seemed to be disgusted just touching something I had touched, but I decided to ignore it. I chalked it up to the customer beside me who reeked like urine and looked as though he'd been living on the street (who incidentally received FAR better service than I). I told her I'd use my own bag, and after she scanned the items I reached to help fold them and tuck them away, at which point she SNAPPED - "I'm not done yet!" I thought she was probably having a bad day, so I attempted to make eye contact and smile, my way of saying, "hey, we're both human beings." Anita C seemed to disagree. Instead of returning my gesture, or hiding behind the default mask of PROFESSIONALISM one ought to have, this woman felt it her duty to stare me down and purse her lips into the most condescendingly malicious parody of a smile I have seen in a VERY long time. I said, "wow." I was completely floored by this. Thinking about the indignity, I said, "You know what..." and gestured that this transaction could be aborted. She didn't need me to finish the sentence, haughtily saying, "I'm fine with that." Confronted with yet more snark, I looked around to see if her fellow employees were aware. Knowing what I sought, she said, "my boss is right there." She didn't care in the LEAST. Saiyad, who I later found out was the floor manager, had been less than three feet away this whole time (dealing with the aforementioned other customer). I expressed my dismay. He apologized, as he ought to have. I left. Still in the mall, I decided that a perfunctory apology was not satisfactory, and I went back to ask for the staff member's name, as well as the store manager and head office info, so I could follow up. It was at this point that I spoke to Victoria about the issue, who listened sympathetically. As I was vocalizing my complaint, I happened to glance over at Anita C. Not only had no action been taken to remove her from further damaging your reputation, she was staring me down, smirking and nodding along. SHE THOUGHT IT WAS A JOKE! I'm sure the seriousness of this DOUBLE infraction will not be lost on those who have worked so hard to make Winners a welcoming shopping experience. Within less than thirty minutes, ONE staff member has so alienated a regular Winners shopper that it cost you a $300 purchase, and will have repercussions exceeding the abject callousness of her irresponsibility. This person should NOT be allowed to represent your interests. As I said, I won't be returning to this location; and I will seriously reconsider giving your business any of my money in the future. What you should be worried about, having already lost my business, is that none of your other customers are faced with the same risk. I would like to know that appropriate action is being taken about this matter." It's the same day, so I don't expect to hear back by Monday at the earliest, but I'm still gobsmacked that anyone thinks this is appropriate; whether staff or fellow citizen of a city we call home.
