Gramma Maries also DOES NOT except government funding so they don't have to follow any government guidelines when it comes to programs or fees. That lets them keep the centre small with very few activities and it also lets them charge $55.00 per day, that's $37.00 more than the provincial guideline of $18 max per day like all other centre's in the city of Winnipeg. They also treat their employees unfair forcing them o work 9 or 10 hours days refusing to pay any overtime. If you are only hours late with your payment they charge you $10 for nothing. The Centre is closed like 20 days a year and you still have to pay for those days your child doesn't attended. When we couldn't afford to sent our son full time anymore the made us pay for a whole month until the spot was filled. Even after we explained we couldn't afford that the threatened to remove my son from their Centre.

The facilities are amazing, very top of the line and spotlessly clean. There are options for privacy in the changeroom and in the showers, which I appreciated (shower stalls are used and not a communal space). There is even a machine to wring out your bathing suit after a trip to the pool. The JCC is filled with little niceties like this. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool is a saltwater pool with a very cool children's area, and the temperature of the pool is perfect. I really like Schmoozer's Deli that is on the campus and right on your way to the gym (perhaps too convenient, it's very hard to resist their delicious carrot cake!). The Deli is a Dairy restaurant, which means they do not carry meat. They are Kosher, and no outside food can be eaten on campus. The quesadillas are especially yummy, but everything there is good in my experience. Even the coffee is decent, which is usually rare for a smaller restaurant that doesn't specialize in coffee. They have a ton of programs avail from cultural to learning to athletic for all ages. The Berney Theatre is located there, Gray Academy (Jewish private school for K-12), Aleph Bet Daycare, and a library. There is also a Holocaust Memorial and Jewish Child and Family Services are located there, too, the total area being called the Asper Community Campus that contains the JCC. There is ample free parking, and you can get a parking pass for parking closer to the JCC with your membership. My only critique is that their inclusion services are not the greatest. My daughter has a disability, and we found the inclusion programs offered were for much older individuals. We attempted swimming lessons for her and it was a disaster, the staff didn't seem to be equipped to deal with a non-neurotypical child. There are private lessons, but we found these to be too expensive.

He has funded money into useless things for the school and is simply a liability. The decision to build a semi-hill in the NW corner of the schoolyard, complete with massive slabs of limestone blocks and sapling trees is not only wasteful but a hazard in its own right. Those blocks of limestone have sharp corners and edges. It's not a matter of "if" a child will slip and crack their head open on those blocks, but more so a matter of "when". Please don't let it be your child who suffers this fate.
