I always love seeing the ducks while walking around, & this time I even spotted a frog! Little things like that make the walk even more enjoyable. The park has plenty of greenery, wildlife, & peaceful spots to take in while getting some exercise. It was a nice way to get my steps in while enjoying a beautiful day outdoors. You can also exercise, take a nice long walk or cycle. The bike trail is part of the Pequonnock River Trail and is approximately 5.2 miles long through the park. The park also has playgrounds, ball fields, and a splash pad for kiddos; Right next to Beardsley Zoo, so you can easily make a full day of it. I definitely want to come more often.

We logged four point three miles. And it took us about two and a half hours. My friend and I both felt the hike was invigorating.

Great trails close to home. The Falls Trail is pretty hard, rock scrambling most of the way along…read morethe water. But it's so pretty when you get there and then there's easier trails to go back. Parking is easy at the middle school across the street. My dog had a great time, although he's little so we had to carry him for the rock scrambling parts. There were dogs off leash despite the signs so just be wary if your dog doesn't do well with others or is nervous around big dogs. Trails are well marked and maintained. We used All Trails to connect one trail to another. Check for ticks! We found two on the dog in the car.

Many of the locals gripe, however, that the town doesn't hasn't made its upkeep a priority. No clue whether that's true but special places like this are gathering spots enhancing life and community, which is sorely needed in these days of social isolation. Therefore, any projects developing community care ought to be nurtured and expanded for its citizenry to thrive instead of only survive.

Though you need resident parking during swim season, it's a great winter escape for all between Labor Day and Memorial Day. People decorate memorial benches for the winter holidays, and jingle bell horse rides go on during the December holiday season. It's a park near and dear. At some point we'll make it to the museum, but the historic interpretative signs helped us make do. Kids can sled the hills by the entrance, and everyone can find beach glass along the cove itself. Whether you're looking for nature or exercise, this is a great local escape.

I rode the trail today from Daniels Farm Road to Benedict's Home and Garden in Monroe. I stopped…read morehere and had to go back because I had no idea where the trail went from here which is my complaint about this trail. It is poorly marked. There is a fork in the trail with a sign that says "Main Street Spur, one way and Spring Hill Road Trail Route" the other way. I took the Main Street route and after about 200 yards I was at the edge of Main Street and I had no idea which way to go as there is no signage at all. I doubled back and took the Spring Hill Road route which took me to Victorinox. Here you either go left or right, again no trail markers. I went right towards Victrinox because it looked like that trail went around the the property but no, I was soon met with a no trespassing sign. So I doubled back again and found the trail again which took me to another trail head with no markings although I did find the Stephen French Store/Post Office marker, but no trail marker as to which way to go. I gambled and went right and found the Stepney Depot marker but no trail marker. I continued north until I came to the Benedict's Home and Garden Center, again which way do I go? Again I gambled and went right to Wolf Park which seemed like a logical way to go, however the park was closed for the Bicentennial?! Again you guessed it no trail marker to be found. I gave up at this point and went back to my truck and went home. Did I miss something? Did I miss all the trail markers? If I did please let me know where they are. Otherwise it was a great ride with some slight inclines and and mostly smooth riding. I would recommend it but be aware there are no obvious trail markers.
