Bennet park which is attached to Meckauer Park is always filled with geese poop or dog poop or poop of some sorts, but Meckauer Park by comparison has everything. A dog park/pen of sorts, a basket ball court, a toddler play ground and a children's play ground, and a walker's loop that is half a mile a loop. There are all kinds of people enjoying their evening exercises and sometimes there is even a group holding a birthday party of sorts or a catered event. It's endearing that a tiny park this size does and serves so many people and provides activities for them! That's why I really appreciate this park.

Twin Brooks Park is a very beautiful and well maintained park. It has a nice paved walking/bike…read morepath with flowers and trees that bloom in spring and summer. There are a total of 5 ponds/lakes, two of which people sometimes fish at. There are swings (in very good condition) and a playground that is suitable for kids around age 4-13. In the winter Twin Brooks has easily the best sledding hill in a 10 mile radius. It's such a good sledding hill that it can actually be dangerous due to the sheer distance. With most sleds you don't have to worry but with high quality inner tubes you can generate a lot of speed. Sledding not your thing? No problem! There is also an extensive network of mountain biking/hiking trails in the woods to the north of the park. In fact you can mountain bike or hike from Beach Memorial Park all the way to Twin Brooks! Twin Brooks is beautiful in all 4 seasons, just don't forget your Trumbull parking pass. If you don't have one there is street parking on Franklin Street.

I'll give this five stars even though I've only gone on about half the trail. Came here to check…read moreit out as the pedestrian bridge over the river had been closed for repairs last week and wanted to see how things looked. This trail is wide, clean and well-maintained. While we were there, we saw lots of walkers and people with dogs. There are a lot of rules and they are laid out by signs as the entrances. It does seem odd that they request no running or biking on the trail as it seems like those activities wouldn't be an issue but for now, it looks like it's just for walking. We followed it about a mile up and then turned around and came back. We could have gone further. Next time we might head south towards Brookfield. I really enjoyed using this trail. One note, the parking lot off Silvermine Road near the police department is small but if you go up to Pocono Road and take a right, there's a big municipal lot there and you can access the trail behind the soccer fields.

I had the pleasure of attending a wedding as a bridesmaid. The space was beautiful and spacious. The china on the lower level in casing was beautiful and the colors chosen have a very old home comfort feel. Takes you back a bit to another time. Lighting for images is great here and there is a handicap parking close to the ramps which make entry and exits very easy. They offer recycling and trash in their kitchen. The staff on site was very informative and kind. Overall, a very pleasant experience. The videos and photos we took look beautiful!!! I'd like to personally thank Tarrywile for everything!!

All I saw was nice green and yellow leafs everywhere I loved the colors especially with how sunny and bright the day was. They had this really cool bridge you can look around on and check out the water. The bridge did have some gaps in the center so hope no one drops anything as you definitely won't be getting it back. Besides that though the bridge was very stable. There was also signs of information/history about the park too if you like to read about that stuff. It looked like there were a few paths you can take to walk around doesn't seem like you could get lost easy. There was this one cool path where you can see nothing but yellow leafs around you on the path and it looked so cool. I also found this really old hut looked interesting too. Just watch your step but otherwise I didn't see any difficult paths. I would definitely come back to this park when I come back to visit again.

They have picnic tables and multiple benches for you to relax and take in the views. People fish here, picnc, sunbathe, run and go on long walks here. I'm here frequently. It's very clean and safe. There is a small rocky beach access point. Some days are busier than others at this gem. Parking by permit only. I'm not sure how it is checked or enforced.

For a lighthouse lover like myself-Jackpot! The stroll is flat and easy (think the total length is 1/2 mile) and you can stop along the way to read some of the area history and also what types of fish swim nearby. I go here often to walk and appreciate nature and quiet, or to sit and watch the boats, the sunset, or the fishermen and women. It's a great spot to be outdoors and relieve stress or contemplate the meaning of life. There are a few picnic tables and benches. The whole area is always very clean. Parking is free for Bridgeport residents in season with a sticker, but I have never gotten a sticker and never had any issues. Keep it quiet and clean and keep your dogs on a leash , please, as this is a true oasis and you will be stunned it is actually in Bridgeport!

Putnam Park is one of my favorite parks in the area. The history and the scenery just do it for me…read more It's especially gorgeous during the Autumn months. The main trail is paved and easy for anyone to walk. There are also a ton of historical landmarks within the park grounds. Along with being the oldest state park in the Connecticut, Putnam Park is also designated as the first State Archaeological Preserve. It was the site of the winter encampment of the troops under General Israel Putnam (for whom the park is named). There are regular Revolutionary War reenactments hosted by The Friends and Neighbors of Putnam Park. Putnam Park is a nice quiet place on the Bethel/Redding line. I am very grateful to those who pushed to reopen it.

Beautiful visitor center and fascinating ride on our mountain bikes through the park. Arrived at the door of the adorable 1921 stone museum building and it was like Wally World in the movie vacation! CLOSED!!!!!! . Soooo disappointed! It's the main attraction! Omg! I couldn't believe it! Website did not mention anything about being closed other than a few days in a June!!!! . I would have given them five stars but when the museum is closed???? Not nice for visitors traveling a long way to see artifacts from the park. My advice is to call first. Apparently they don't feel it necessary to post on their website.
