In 2024 my brother bought a mobile home and wanted a carport for his car and RV. He bought that through Winslow/Terwin because his friends had had a good experience with them. Everything went well with the construction, until the first storm, when the carport completely blew away into my brothers backfield. By the time I knew about it and my brother sent me pictures, I went through the contract. I found out there are some issues because 39 mobile home anchors to hold the carport down had been paid for and were in the contract. However, when the building was destroyed and hanging upside down on the field, we found out that the mobile home anchors were not used, but rather asphalt anchors were used. They didn't have a chance in that storm. So I got involved and wrote the owner of Terwin a letter with pictures. I received a call back almost immediately from the new manager.(the company has since been sold.) Frank. While I was expecting a fight, the first thing Frank said to me was if it was their fault he would make it right. By the next day, Frank had gone out to my brother's property to see the mess. Within a few days, he had sent people out to clean up the field from all the metal pieces. And then they redesigned the carport and didn't charge my brother anything more to have it put back up. My brother has videos cameras around his house. So from Denver I was able to watch the construction of this new carport, which is stunning. We couldn't be happier with the way Frank has handled this and worked with us. At one point we were so angry and upset, but that's completely changed. I would suggest using this company for your carport needs. I would also suggest that somebody be there and watch when your structure is put up just to make sure that the installers did not grab the wrong pieces. Thank you, Frank. My experience with Winslows in Wills Point, TX has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. From the initial installation to ongoing issues with their product and customer service, this company has consistently failed to meet even basic expectations. Firstly, the quality of the building itself was far below what was promised and expected. It was evident that the construction was shoddy and parts were missing, which severely compromised the functionality and structural integrity of the building. Despite numerous attempts to reach out for resolution, Winslow's has repeatedly failed to take responsibility or provide adequate solutions. Moreover, their customer service is abysmal. The repair scheduling department is virtually non-responsive, often taking months to even acknowledge inquiries, let alone schedule repairs or replacements for the missing parts. This level of disregard for customer concerns is simply unacceptable. Adding insult to injury, the pricing of their products does not align with the quality and service provided. The exorbitant cost of their buildings does not reflect the poor craftsmanship or the complete lack of after-sales support. In conclusion, our interaction with Winslow's Metal Buildings has been a nightmare. They do not stand by their product, offer subpar quality for a premium price, and demonstrate a shocking level of ineptitude in customer service. I would strongly advise anyone considering their services to look elsewhere for a more reliable and reputable contractor. Scheduling was a mess. First off it was supposed to be on the 18th and said they called us on the 16th to let us know that it was not going to be until the 19th which did not happen . They had two email address two phone numbers they could have called or text to let us know something. All day the 19th they told us several different times never happened then the manager out there told me that like 3:52 they would be here in 24 minutes doesn't show up till 5:00. And she told me three to four hours to install they did not leave until 1:00 in the morning. They did a overall a good job and was very polite and respectful. They wanted to come out back Saturday and finished the job but my husband said no cuz it was going to rain all day Saturday. Getting ready to move from Southern California to Texas and in need of a storage shed. Back in the 70's/80's there was this car dealership commercial called Cal Worthington and his dog Spot. Hal offered to pick up my building permit as again I'm coordinating from California. Great communication skills and kept me in the loop throughout my whole experience up until my unit was delivered. We ordered a carport for our lake house June 2020. Fast forward...in May 2021 we are getting calls from this company saying we owe them for our carport...almost a YEAR later. The whole thing was a mess, took forever to get it installed and very unorganized. My husband and I are both almost SURE we paid for the carport. We are now having to search for invoices, go through bank statements, credit card statements, etc trying to find payment. When they called us, we were not at the lake, we were at our main home. We informed them that the invoice/order info was at our lake house and we would look for it when we got down there in a couple weeks. After only 1 week, we were receiving Lien notices on our main residence. (Not our lake house where the carport was installed, but our main residence) We also have a business so we have different accounts and cards that we use, so we are currently going back through them after almost a year. It's just ridiculous. My husband and I are not the kind of people to just not pay, so we're really confused why they're saying we owe money. But it was so long ago that we can't really remember how we paid...card, check, cash. What company is going to come out and install an entire carport and not get paid? Then wait almost a year to collect payment? Come on. Like I said, the whole process was a complete mess! They had our credit card on file that they used for the deposit. They had both our addresses to mail an invoice that was due. We would NEVER run our business like this. We're at the point where we're too busy right now to do anymore digging to prove that it's paid. This company is a complete JOKE!!! DO NOT do business with them. Refused to provide financials to me as the admin of my brothers estate. I tried to provide documents of letters and death certificate which were also refused by workers and one of the owners Mike. I have been threatened to pay in full immediately without even providing me with these documents. On Friday August 18, 2013, Mike hung up on me when they were open for 45 more minutes! What a nightmare, this company will never get my business again. Buyer be ware you will find hidden fee after hidden fee if you buy from them. They do not send someone to your property to inspect the land prior to the installers showing up. When they do show up and the ground isnt perfect they slap on an extra charge. When asked why they don't send someone they said we offer that for an additional charge. If you have some branches that are too close to the building site they will cut them down, for an extra charge. Needless to say after spending over $5k for a job I do not expect to keep getting 300 400 500 dollar charges for every little thing that I did not know about. read more

After 2 days I still have not received a call from the manager. I did finally receive the key to the side door a day after I was advised it would be dropped off. Which was still over a week since the building was completed. I cannot access the side of the building when it rains, I cannot store anything on that side of the building because it will sink into the mud and water. The ground is not level and there is no drainage. It was a 2 months now for a process that was only supposed to take 2 to 3 weeks. I signed a quote and was told later that I had to pay more money for dirt work. Then I was told they needed an additional deposit before the building could be installed after I had already given them almost $6K. I had cheaper quotes for both parts of the work required. However, I wanted to stay with a local company. For convenience I thought it would be best to go with a single company for both the concrete and building. I had to call and email repeatedly to have this building completed. My emails are not promptly answered, my phone calls are not returned. I was told to make calls that the company should be making to have the job completed. Both my wife and I are Project Managers. We know that there should be deadlines to meet, responsibilities assigned, a budget set up front, and good customer service to meet the client's expectations. None of these were the result. I definitely do not recommend their services to any friends, family or my clients in the housing industry. Since I will now have to hire someone or take the time out of my schedule to finish this project to make it functional, I expect a refund, which I will probably have to take them to court over. This may have been a good reputable company at one time... Read the other reviews - bottom line; STAY AWAY FROM THEM. We had been shopping for a building and wanted to give our business to a local company thinking that customer service would be better (mistake #1 - it isn't). On June 18th we sat down with the salesman and ordered our building and plopped down 1/2 the payment. He said that they were really busy and it would probably not get our building up for about 4 weeks. He said that customer service would call in about a week to put us on the schedule. We went ahead and got our slab poured and after TWO weeks still had not heard from customer service. I called the salesman and found out that they had the wrong telephone number for me. So when they couldn't get in touch with me they did... nothing. Even though they had my email they did not contact me (but they were happy to sit on my deposit!). I talked to the owner Mike Winslow, and he went on and on about how busy they were and how great business was and how many new people they had hired and how they didn't know how they could ever keep up with demand. (He also asked about the slab and several things that needed to be done to it before it was poured. Nice to know after the fact, Mike). The one thing he did NOT do is apologize for failing to contact me. He said that someone would contact me to let me know that they had my order and to let me know that someone else would be contacting me to put me on the schedule (in other words, I would be scheduled to be put on the schedule). Last week someone finally called and told me that they had my order (I already knew that) and that someone would be calling in the next couple of weeks to put me on the schedule - which would probably be 2 or 3 weeks after that. So if you are keeping track of the math, IF they are even close to telling me the truth, we MAY have our building up 2 MONTHS after we ordered it. Go with a national company and for goodness sake get a schedule in writing. If anyone ever asks me about the building (if it ever actually gets put up) I will be sure to tell this story and will tell anyone who asks that Winslow is to be avoided at ALL costs. read more

Super rude people got us the wrong color etc. Then I said I'll ask my husband if he wants after he gets off work. And she calls back well since ur so unhappy that someone is 10 min away. To pick it up. I'm like excuse u. I'm unhappy about the color because it's not what I paid for. But my husband settled said whatever cuz we need. And on top of it she is super rude and argues with you. Would not recommend. Plus she went to financing and took us off the pay without me knowing. Like wow u have issues. I do not recommend Winslow's in Wills Point to anyone!!!!When you finance with them they put you on a plan they want you on even if you have good credit.Then turn around & tell you that's the only plan they had at the time. I've been told by the creditor that they put us through that they are not being honest with that said cause they have several plans they can put you on.When you go up to ask them questions they refuse to even try to help you. It's like they are saying we got our money now we are done with you!!! I do not recommend this place at all I've read very bad reviews since this happened to us. The sales rep. was very rude. We went in to ask about a building we seen on their website. When we showed her the building we were referring to the first thing out of her mouth was those prices are subject to change, I know we need to update our website, but you can't get people to work these days. No one wants to work, they want everything for free. I responded, we have jobs and are not looking for free things just a reasonable price on a storage building. The price on their website was around $5,000, she quoted $9,800. Although the company is protected because the website says these prices are subject to change, it seems to me these prices are misleading and designed to get you in the door. You are best to steer clear of this organization in my humble opinion. read more

I bought a home in May in a lake community. Being as it is very treed and sloping I had to go with site built. I paid half down and was told due to unprecedented demand, it would be up to six to eight weeks. They can't control the weather. You are told in advance its up to you to level the site. I was told the correct block to purchase because I didn't want my building sitting on wood. It was much cheaper for me to purchase them vs them bringing them but I was given either option. I also will add that this is the forth property I have owned where I have purchased either carports or storage buildings from them over the last twenty plus years. I have never had a problem with quality, payment or timelines. I would recommend to anyone. My last purchase was May 2021. read more

I bought a portable building from the Tyler location. I was told at the time that I would be contacted soon to schedule delivery. My contact said three weeks, and when I balked at such a long time, the sales lady assured me that it wouldn't take that long, the contracts say that to protect them in case it takes longer than expected. Three weeks came and went. I was given multiple assurances that it would be soon, then the dispatch said it would be 4-6 weeks from the purchase date, since the snowstorm had delayed their schedule. I was told I was scheduled for the sixth week after purchase, and again that date came and went. Finally, SEVEN WEEKS after the purchase date they finally delivered it. I really did not appreciate having to begin payments for a building I couldn't use. Once the building was delivered, I realized that a trim piece was damaged and the key was broken off in the lock. That made it totally unusable, since it could be easily opened with a penny. It took over a week to get the technician out here to make the repairs. So after waiting EIGHT WEEKS and after making TWO MONTHLY PAYMENTS I finally was able to use my building. I'm not unreasonable. I understand that the snowstorm was unexpected and that rain delays deliveries. But they weren't even three weeks behind when I bought the thing, it should not have taken twice that long to deliver it. If I'd known that it would take that long, I would have gotten a custom building in the colors I wanted. I'll never buy anything here again and I'll never recommend this business. I only gave two stars because the building itself is quite nice. Customer service, however, is abysmal. read more

Beware of this company. They expect you to be an expert on portable buildings. They won't send someone out to your site to inspect the location for the building unless you pay $100 additional. When was the last time you dealt with a contractor who wouldn't give free estimates. Then on day of install if there is a problem, there is no field service manager available, and even my salesman is off every Monday. Avoid these people as they leave you to fend for yourself. read more
