Great to see that seasonally Smorgasburg brings their great weekend establishments indoors during the winter. In 2015 they now brought it to Sunset Park's Industry City. The waterfront district here starting to get developed into prime real estate just like Brooklyn Bridge Park as the previous industrial area makes way to residential / commercial. Situated in Industry City the warehouse hub where food establishments are using the industrial space to prepare their food to be distributed throughout the NYC area. Smorgasburg now has set up shop here on the weekends. It's a bit confusing to navigate since it's such a large commercial park but Smorgasburg is situated in building 1 and on the 2nd floor. One side of the large floor space is dedicated to the flea portion and the other side is dedicated to the food stall section. Some highlights in the food section are the ramen shack with the same proprietor of the ramen burger. The ramen shack is a small stall seating at the bar. The ramen is quite good. Had the Brooklyn style and spicey ramen. Both broths were really good along with the tender pork. The add on elements of a tea egg and the spices really make it a good bowl of ramen on a winters day. The tonkatsu broth really shines. Wowfulls another stall serves Hong Kong style waffle cakes but in this instance wrapped crepe style and filled with ice cream and add ons. *This review is specifically for Ramen Shack, one of the food vendors at the market* This smorgasburg is not the same as the ones in the hipster part of brooklyn---here you'd see tall factory buildings, highways, no trees or grass whatsoever. The flea market is inside a building called Industry City. Follow the signs and go to the 2nd floor for goods and foods, and prepare to be wow-ed. It's like walking through a floor of shopping mall. In the end of the section, you'd find a bunch of food vendors and you can get you food to sit at the open area. You MUST go further down to find this INSPIRING and DELICIOUS vendor called Ramen Shack by Keizo Shimamoto (creator of ramen burger!). The shack is at the deep corner (you'd see the maroon banner). What makes it an awesome sauce is that...you can taste the passion and authenticity in Keizo's ramen. It's like something your family would make in Japan; it doesn't have the glamorous coating like the so-called Ippudo. Keizo has been making a variation of tonkotsu pork, shoyu and vegetarian ramen since his debut in Queens. I've been to his ramen.co at FiDi, the LIC location and now Sunset Park Brooklyn, and his stuff is still the same----same goodness (although actually I prefer the Shack-style ramen). His latest addition to the menu, Green Curry Soba is beyond words. There's a lot of history behind that bowl of ramen (google it). This is the 3rd time I tried green curry ramen: 1st at where I used to work (Bassanova NYC), then at Jin. What makes Keizo's GCS different is that the broth is just so smooth and yet you still get a kick of flavor. I only tried the GCS2016 with chicken and dashi broth instead of the usual pork, but I'm telling you, it was instant love at first sight and bite. In general: the ramen is just so fresh. Not only does Winter Flea provide a way to enjoy Smorgasburg offerings year-round, it offers an intriguing look at a repurposed industrial building. This is a version of 'burg predecessor Brooklyn Flea, which means less food but more vintage Polaroid cameras for sale. It also means there's not much seating. Sandwiches are portable but I didn't want to spring for $15 truffle pasta that I would eat standing up. Seats are possible but you'll have to work for them. In a cruel irony, enticing chairs right near the food area are not there for sitting, but for buying. Some of the smokier offerings of Smorgasburg are presumably banned, but you'll still find plenty to eat and the lines at the Ramen burger place are shorter than usual. Honestly...... it's not what I expected since the summer smorgasburg is so huge. I thought this would be similar, if not the same. 3/4 of the place is filled with vintage item stands, crafters, junk. It's spot after spot after spot of the same type of shops. There are only 8 or 9 spots for food and drinks, and not much variety. I'm eagerly awaiting the summer time smorgasburg! read more

Smorgasburg moves around the town according to the season. Thank God! It is snowing and 20 degrees outside, an outdoor flea market and food booth event would be awful. Luckily someone was thinking and has found a weekend establishment at industrial city on the second floor. Flea market: a typical flea market with booths selling everything from vintage clothing to handmade kitchen tables/bars. Find the guy who makes tables/buffets and such, he is awesome. Food booths: there is a nice variety. Only about 6 food booths. It is nice cause there is beer and an eating area at the back of the building. We tried the ramen burger (love it) the Philippine inspired jack fruit cooked in banana leaf ( cool concept but didn't taste amazing). read more

I really enjoyed coming to the Winter Flea. I like the knick knacks and various items they have on sale from antiques, furnitures, accessories, plants, etc. Bonus that they have Dough. I love their donuts! Its $3 each which is 3 times the price of a regular donut, however, I do not mind because it is so good! I also tried the ramen burger, but I just don't think it is worth the hype. I also had the tamale platter in one of the stalls which was surprisingly good. It was soft, flavorful, and not dry at all. That is one problem I encounter when I get tamales from restaurants, but not this one. I will be sure to come back here for that. I will most certainly be frequenting Smorgasburg in Sunset Park. Industry City is really shaping up to be somewhat of a scene. Mister Sunday has departed, but for the winter, the Brooklyn Flea and Smorgasburg have moved in. It's located in the building across from the food court on the second floor. It's a bit of a maze, but if you know what you're looking for, it's not too bad. Up the main stairs, you enter into the Flea. It's a bit tough to navigate, especially with the stands close together and people crowded around them shopping. Speaking of shopping, they have a ton of quirky things that Brooklyn Flea is known for. Records, vintage clothing, old toys, cameras, and then a ton of random stuff like post-it note drawings and wooden furniture. Once you walk all the way through to the back, you'll reach the Smorgasburg area where the food vendors are. Things like ramen burger, Ramen Shack, and things that aren't ramen, like Fletcher's and other mainstays like Lumpia Shack and Red Hook Lobster. You can definitely make a whole day out of Flea and Smorgasburg, so bring an appetite and patience. Because there's a ton of stuff to look at and eat! read more

A bunch of different vendors all in one place! What's there not to love? I went because I was hungry and did not feel like dealing with along brunch lines and I was not disappointed. In fact I was SO overwhelmed that I didn't know what to eat. I ended going for some bubble tea, wowfulls, ramen burger, and Venezuelan street food. But there were many other places that I wanted to try. The location its self is right across the street from Costco which makes parking a premium. I didn't not enjoy having to look for parking. I must admit that when I finally did park it was at a spot where I was not clear if I was legally parked or not.... Depending on which part you enter the building you may have to walk through the whole flea market to get to the food if that's what you are interested in. Also please note that most places require cash. While there was an ATM on the premises the fee was $3!!!!! All in all it is a wonderful place to visit with ample seating. I love this place! It reminds me of the "Night Markets" we have back in LA. I liked the industrial setting, the big open spaces allows for you to move around without bumping elbows with other food seekers. I came around opening time on Sunday, found parking pretty quickly and was able to check out different food stands without waiting in line for more than 5-10 minutes. My favorite thing here by far was the Sigsig from the Adobo, it was so hardy and good that I could probably eat it everyday and not get sick of it. The ramen from the Ramen Shack was also on-point. Their soft-boiled egg was cooked to perfection! After stuffing your face with the smorgasbord of yummy treats, don't forget to check out the Wowfuls for their green tea 'eggettes' dessert! read more

Perfect for a relaxing weekend! Located 2 blocks away from the 36st subway station. So excited to see different vendors and people independently selling their items. If you have any friends wanting to visit brooklyn, I would definitely bring them to smorgasburg in Industry City before the season if over. I have bad luck when I go to the outside version of Smorgasburg. It either rains or there are hardly any vendors out. I'm glad they decided to have one inside the Industrial Building. I think they use the space here very nicely. I mean they use up all the space as much possible. There is so much going on here with the Winter Flea and Smorgasburg. There are so many unique things you can purchase, but given my style it didn't really fit me. I really came here to try out the food. There are some foods I want to try, but I can only stomach so much. I got the Ramen Burger there. It was my first ever Ramen Burger. I know SHOCKING!!! It was okay. I won't say I loved it nor did I hate it. It was an okay burger. I do feel like it could have use an extra something in it. The one thing I did want to try is from WowFulls. My girlfriend and I tried the Original "Gai dan Jai" with ice cream topped with strawberries and strawberry pocky. This dessert looks absolutely pretty to look at and looks darn delicious to eat. It was darn delicious. It was crunchy, soft, creamy, and sweet. I'm definitely getting more Wowfulls next time. Definitely want to try out more of the vendors when I come back. read more

3.5 stars. I was excited when I heard about this place opening up. I'm glad that we can still have Smorgasburg even as the weather gets colder! I've only been here once and it was pretty early so it wasn't too packed. Prices are typical of Smorgasburg so it can be on the pricey side, but what you're paying for is having a variety of food options all in one place. The set up in here is nice for Brooklyn Flea as well, but it seems like one side may be at a disadvantage since they don't get much sun/natural lighting. I wanted to try "Wowfulls" since I heard about them; the egg cake w/ice cream trend isn't as big in the U.S. compared to Canada. I tried their pumpkin spice egg cake without ice cream and it was too sweet and flakey. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was their first egg cake of the day... I heard the dude tell someone else that it's pretty when served with ice cream. I don't deny that it's pretty, but everything that goes into making it pretty should be good on it's own, right? Fun vibe with various food stalls where you can try an array of delicious food. Some may be a little pricey for its portion. But I think the experience is worth it. There's drinks, meals, snacks, dessert, coffee, etc. It's a great place for all ages. This branch of Smorgasburg is especially unique because of the attached flea market and its location. It's in Industrial City, which is decorated with fun graffiti. I think if you go on the weekends, there are more food discoveries to be made here as well. The flea market, while there is the regular vintage junk, also has high quality furniture, local products, cosmetics, art, etc. Love it! Parking can be a little bit of a pain with Cosco right by it. Being a big fan of Smorgasburg, I knew I had to pay a visit once it moved to my hood for the winter. After reading the reviews here on Yelp about the lack of food, I decided to set my standard a bit lower. Nevertheless, I wanted to try out the new wowfulls stand and so there I go. I went on a Saturday in the late afternoon and parking was pretty easy to find nearby. Smorgasburg is located on the 2nd floor and all the food stands were located in one corner. Even though I came at noon, a lot of the stands were not open (which was really disappointing). There was really no food options that I really want to try out of the ones that were open. Hence, I only tried the wowfulls (matcha egg waffles with white chocolate peppermint bark ice cream). It was sooooo good. The egg waffles were still crunchy when I bit into it (not like the ones you eat in chinatown and they're all mushy inside). The ice cream that was put on it tasted really creamy as well. There are also a bunch of vintage shops located all around throughout the floor. However, there was really no store that stood out to me; they all seemed the same. All in all, I was pretty disappointed in Smorgasburg: industry city edition. If it wasn't for wowfulls, I would not be returning at all. I left with an empty stomach and had to find a nearby restaurant to satisfy my hunger pangs. read more

Amidst the broken sidewalks, and the mobs of wholesale shoppers of Costco, exists a wonderland called Smorgasburg and Brooklyn Flea. They have created a hipster world full of vintage clothing, handmade goods, and other randomness. I have been there twice in one month and still want to go again. Food - with over a dozen vendors to choose from, how can you choose?? They have sandwiches, Greek food, Latin food, and desserts. I've only tried the roast pork sandwich from Federoff's and the Green Tea Wowfull and I was impressed. Federoff's sandwich was juicy with sauteed broccoli rabe and garlic and a roasted long hot pepper on top. MUAH bellissima. The Wowfull is a Hong Kong style dessert that was brought to the US. I used to love eating them as a kid, the sidewalk vendors sold 20 little pieces for $1. They're moist little cakes that have just the right sweetness. Wowfull created a more modern version by adding MATCHA powder, which I LOVE. The cakes were moist yet crunchy on the outside. I could do without the ice cream though, it made it less authentic. Shopping- my friend got a vintage Patagonia rain jacket which he successfully negotiated the price on and I got a handmade leather bag from Flux productions made by Ryan Grier. Yay for claustrophobes! I ate at Adobo Shack and Lucy's Vietnamese, and they were both great. Fresh, bright flavors while also being hearty. Decent value-for-the-$, too. What a cool place! I've never been to any of the other Smorgasburgs so I can't really compare but I loved this place. Industry City seems like such an inspiring location with tons of small businesses producing and selling their products throughout the week. On Saturday and Sunday it houses the winter edition of Smorgasburg, divided into a flea market and a food hall section. The flea market has the usual stalls with vintage items and a bunch of local products, furniture, clothes and also lots of unique stuff like butterfly glass domes or handmade leather bags. The other side houses a food hall with different lunch and dessert stalls but also products like pickled horseradish or cooking oils that you can buy for your own home. We came in the afternoon and weer'nt even that hungry but couldn't pass by the Ramen Burger stand without trying it. Pretty good stuff ;) read more

My intention was specifically for the food, and always for the food. What caught my eye from Yelpers review was the waffle stand. Usually its always packed and the line is long. So I made it a point to go as soon as the place opens, gave my order at the waffle stand, then went arcoss and ordered the ramen burger, and then ran back and got a pork tamales from the Latin American stand. The only things that take away from a 5 star is the parking is difficult, seating is scarce, and the lines can be long and slow which is dreadful in the heat. If you want to stand in line for 45 minutes for a Matcha-flavored Asian Egg Waffle, then go and buy a bunch of magnets made out of old Simpsons pogs circa 1997, Winter Flea & Smorgasburg at Industry City is the place to do it! The beau and I decided to be cool and venture out to this space on a lazy Sunday afternoon. For starters, this location is more accessible than one might think when they see that it's in Sunset Park. If you hop on the D in Manhattan, it's two express stops into Brooklyn, and it's a leisurely five minutes stroll down 36th Street. Upon entering and ascending to the second level, it's wonderfully chaotic. Two large rooms are filled with wares and foods, about 75% flea market to 25% food. Being there namely for eats, we strolled towards the food. I, as aforementioned, did wait in line for a coveted waffle, and it was worth the wait. (Isn't waiting for a trendy food item a part of the NYC experience, in general?) The beau got a nice pork sandwich from one of the vendors; I wish I could remember who! (Bad, Allison. BAD.) After eating, we wandered through some of the vendors, most pedaling wonderful nostalgia. Also, aforementioned, I bought myself seven magnets made from old Simpsons pogs. Back in middle school, in the late 90s, when pogs and slammers were all the rage, my lavender-colored tube of 50 Simpsons pogs (along with my AWESOME holographic butterfly slammer) were some of my most coveted possessions. No kidding, a few days prior, I was discussing those pogs with one of my roommates. To actually come across some of them, re-purposed, was serendipitous. Truly, 'twas meant to be. I have yet to be truly disappointed by any Brooklyn Flea and / or Smorgasburg location, but this one certainly rises above the rest! Not a huge selection of eateries like the usual Summer Smorgasborg due to the limited space. They do have the Smorgasborg staples in addition to the new craze, "Wowfulls". If you're not looking for a huge bite, then there's Dough doughnuts and coffee at the other end of the floor. In between it all, there are cute mini stalls of new and used clothes for sale. There's a chance you'll find something nice like a Valentino tie. There's a nostalgic collectibles shop full of toys from the 1990's (even later or more recent), especially clowns and dolls.. read more

First day of the new Smorgasburg and Brooklyn Flea located at Industry City in Sunset Park. Entrance directly across from Costco parking lot. You thought it was hard to park there on a normal Saturday but plenty of people parking there and walking over. Vendors and food located on the second floor. You could NOT use the building elevator or the bathrooms. Stroller and coat check on the first floor for $1 each. Place gets very crowded where the doors are between each section. Lots of tourists stopping in the middle of the tight aisles pointing and looking. Regular flea items, old stuff, clothes, some vendors with handmade items like jewelry, soaps, olives, horseradish and syrups. Coffee vendor all the way to the left end, some couches in the back to hang out on. Main food area at the back right, most vendors have food premade and they just warm it up, put it together or take it out of the stream table. A few did cook on site with electric appliances. No big food lines. Ramen soup counter is cute, you have red flags covering the back of your head when you sit on the stools, I hope everybody has clean hair! Some tables and benches scattered around food area. Small table for the kids. Watch out for the plastic benches, if someone gets off on one end the bench will fly up and you can end up on the floor. Reviewing this place seems strange because I feel like I should review the food on their respective Yelp pages and the markets on theirs. So instead, I will write about the overall space, the variety and the experience. I have been meaning to go to Smorgasburg for quite some time and was never able to free up a weekend to check it out. After experiencing this Winter version, I am more curious to try the Summer set up next year. There is plenty of parking and transportation services around Industry City and the space was easy to find. I liked that this was a two-in-one event because it gave us something to do in between trying food. From what I understand, there are far less food vendors at the Winter Smorgasburg than at the Summer one. Still, I found it difficult to decide which food to try which I consider to be a good thing. Ultimately, I had a meatball sandwich which was great and later some arancini from Truffles for The People. (To the people? Not sure). I decided to pass on the usual suspect of the ramen burger because i've heard its overrated, but many people seemed to be enjoying them. There were plenty of hot sauce and salsa vendors everywhere who provided samples that we enjoyed. I didn't buy any only because I had just returned from Austin, Texas and was definitely covered on the hot sauce front. I DID pick up a bottle of rare white truffle oil which is being highly cherished in my home. My friend had a bowl of pho which she said was good. We spent a lot of time browsing the Brooklyn Flea side of the warehouse. It was great for killing time but how much time can you spend looking at the SAME rusty keys and old photographs that EVERY VENDOR SOLD. Don't get me wrong, I love old antiques and vintage clothing, but I really felt like I was at an enormous, overpriced, crappy garage sale. I'm sorry. (We didn't buy anything). Later on, we wanted to try one of those huge waffle cone creations that EVERYONE seemed to have, but the girl in front of me got the last one. Even when it's Busy here on a Saturday ( around 2pm this time) the lines for food are still not bad at all. Frankly, I like this Smorgasburg way more than any of the other outdoor spots with long ass lines. I've come here at 11:15 when the vendors are still kind of getting ready, and there was no wait for a seat at ramen Shack's counter, shyyyyyytt there wasn't even anyone else at the counter. Keizo truly approaches his preparation at the Ramen Shack as porfessionally and passionately as if it were a Ramen-Ya in Japan or NYC. I've had Ramen Shack twice... today I had the Sea Salt Shiu Chuukasoba, it was pretty dope. The Egg was great. FYI, practically no wait for Ramen burger... which Im still not sure I am a fan of, but since I didnt have to wait in the summer line, I didn't really sweat it. Today, I also had a Porchetta sandwich from the Porchetta guy (?) those little sliders were delicious. The bathrooms downstairs are snazzy, and there's an adjacent outdoor area too. We checked out Fedoroff's Roast Pork (solid), Ginjan (excellent product, terrible businessmen), Tamarack's s'mores on a stick (solid), Wowfulls (underwhelming especially given IG hype), Ramen Burger (pretty great, surprisingly), Solber Pupusas (solid), and Brooklyn Baking Barons whiskey bite ($3 & moist, but the guy was on his phone the whole time ignoring potential customers). I actually really like the Winter Smorgasburg. Tucked away at the end of the warehouse, past tons of stalls of different thrift shop and hipster artisanal vendors, you will find a small group of food stalls. It is noticeably smaller than the Summer one, but I would have to say I like this one a lot more. There are less people and lines are pretty fast. In addition, I think with fewer stalls, the quality of food vendors goes up. I find that at the Summer one, there are way too many options to decide from and they are usually hit or miss. And if you've been waiting in a super long line, do you really want to have a miss? (Ramen Burger is also at the Winter one, which I think is a fluke, because it is absolutely the worst.) We stopped by all the food stalls when we first got there around noon. The lines are seriously super short and fast, making it easy to sample everything in a short amount of time. Shoutout to our favorites in the Ramen stall, Wowfulls egg waffles, the Prickly Pear Lemonade, and the brisket philly cheese steak. After we were put into a drunken food coma stupor, we tried to walk it off by heading into the flea market. There is literally everything you could ever want or think of in this market. Vendors of clothing, woodwork, old toys, rugs, collectibles, plants, ANYTHING! I'm not one for thrift shops/flea markets because I'm really put off by that "old" smell, but it's only when you get really into one of the stalls that you find the smell. Definitely a cool experience and good way to spend your weekend. Great to see that Smorgasburg has the indoor market during the winter! Love the idea and the warehouse with both the flea and the food. There are definitely fewer vendors than the outdoors sessions in the summer, but there are fewer people and smaller lines. On the other hand, some of the food (eg, ramen burger) taste not as good as it did outdoors - probably because the vendors can't really barbecue and cook live and the warm heat with the packaged food makes for condensation and sogginess. read more

My first time here was short but really interesting. The location wasn't hard to find. There's a lot of parking space in the lot and if you wanted to get it validated then you must go to the shops that can validate and have them stamp your ticket, but you must purchase something from them and I went to Petco and got a .87 cent ball rather than paying 20-30 dollar ticket. It's up to you wether you like to save money or not. The Smorgasburg and flea was on the second floor. Once you get up there, you see a lot of old, vintage, furniture , clothes and records on the tables around. I head straight to the back where the food was. Sad to say, there's wasn't much options. I grabbed a few boa buns and they were pretty expansive but they tasted amazing! They were a little bigger than the normal ones. They also have other options like the dumplings, lobster Maine, some burgers and etc I can't quite remember. 5 stars for the ramen burger alone. This little gem is one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. I didn't try one with cheese and bacon, but the plain one was incredibly flavorful. Other great things about the market include the rest of the food court. Great craftwork as well - check out the miniature wooden pendants and cuff links. read more

Can only describe my experience. On a rainy May Saturday morning, there were only a very few sellers on site. Otherwise inside was empty. Since it was raining, outside was not in use. The trip to get to Industry City was totally wasted. Might be a much better experience on a sunny summer day. Note: a few years ago this was a big Saturday flea market upstairs in Industry City. This place deserves 5 stars just for the flea market. It's located in industry city right by Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Smorgasburg just opened here (there are not that many vendors). Definitely worth checking out since it's indoors and should be around for a few months. There's a Costco next door, fyi. read more

There's a variety of food to try and you don't have to be outside in the cold! The lines aren't that long and it isn't that hard to find parking on the street. Having Smorgasburg here is actually a good way to use the empty space. Too bad they don't have as many vendors as other places. read more

The Smorgasburg part is awesome. The flea part-- not so much. It's nothing but what looks like junky stuff from someone's attic. I was expecting more of an Etsy sort of vibe. Like cute unique items that I wouldn't find elsewhere. The only newer items were tote bags and scented candles, neither one interesting or different. It's not worth coming all the way here just to eat. read more

Loved this indoor version of the flea, even if a lot of vendors were missing.

Needs more food, desserts, and drinks. And more variety in the Flea. Best part: Dough doughnuts with coffee. Needs a better game room. Furniture is expensive. read more
