Brookfield Place feels like my spot. I am always there meeting friends, getting food, walking around, and finding a quiet place to sit. It has so many food options, from the quick spots in the food hall to the nicer restaurants upstairs, so it is easy to meet people without stressing about where to eat. The stores are fun to browse and the whole place feels bright, clean, and calm. I love sitting by the big windows and looking out at the water. It gives me a moment to breathe and slow down, even on busy days. It is the kind of place where you can talk, relax, and stay longer than you planned. Brookfield Place is located in Lower Manhattan along the waterfront, and is a beautiful shopping, dining, and lifestyle destination with stunning views of the Hudson River and the marina. The Winter Garden, with its tall palm trees and glass atrium, is especially impressive and creates a bright and relaxing atmosphere even on busy days. What we liked most was that it offers much more than shopping. There are restaurants, cafés, luxury stores, public seating areas, and frequent events and art installations throughout the year. This shopping center is pretty nice. It feels really high-end and comfortable to walk around. There's even a beautiful atrium and food court here. There are a couple downsides, however. There are only two bathrooms (that I could find) in the whole building. So, when one of them is closed off for cleaning, it can be stressful to find where to go. The other complaint I have is that the only shops here are extremely expensive. Don't expect standard mall kind of stuff. read more

I've been coming to Brookfield for years with my kids. The largess of it all is unmistakably New York. My favorite are second floor seating spaces with stunning views of the harbour. Public art is unintrusive but formidable. Great for chilling any season. read more

The bathroom in the cafeteria is the cleanest public restroom I have ever been in my whole life. There is rarely any mess in each stall. They are all clean. I also love the liquid soap the dispenser dispenses. The restrooms on the first floor are quite different than the second floor. There is foam soap coming out of the dispensers. Also the lighting is very dimmed. Not enough lighting. This mall has a lot of marble tables all around and comfortable leather couches to relax. There are many nice shops to check out although all of them are high end. read more

Because of CANstruction, learned about Brookfield Place more than a decade ago (at least). That time, there was no underground walkway to the Oculus bec the Oculus wasn't even built yet :) Now, it is so convenient to get to and from the subway and Path trains, without worrying about the weather outside. Aside from shopping, food hall/restaurants, from inside Brookfield Place, can see nice views of outdoors and the river. Have taken photos of the cityscape, a distant view of the Statue of Liberty, the sunset on the river from the marina area. Lots of restrooms. read more

Dropped by here a couple weeks ago when I was in the area, hadn't been inside for a couple years so decided to check out what was new. The convenient part about getting here is that you can walk underground from the Oculus and take escalators that bring you directly into the first floor of the mall, which means it's also fairly conveniently located to catch public transportation to locations within Manhattan or to Jersey via the PATH or ferry that stops a couple blocks north along the Hudson. The mall itself looks the same, some stores have swapped out for others, overall well-maintained and clean which seems to be a standard for most Westfield properties, and still filled with high-end stores with a handful of less expensive stores mixed in. What struck me was how many stores were empty, especially on the side wings, clearly more mainstream retailers aren't drawn to this location for a reason--probably due to this mall's location along the water so far downtown--you're here basically if you live or work in the area, are a tourist or taking friends here from out-of-town. However what they do well is provide a nice space for the average person to enjoy the AC, the waterfront view, and enjoy a casual meal. While there never seems to be many people actually shopping in this mall, the food court is decently occupied during meal hours and there is never a shortage of seating. A sprinkling of coffee shops/cafes (Tartinery, Mah-za-dahr, Daily Provisions) and the Hudson Eats food court, as well as the mall-adjacent restaurants and bars along the water draw the most visitors. Options at Hudson Eats include Chopt Salads, Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar, Blackseed Bagels, Springbone Kitchen, All'Antico Vinaio, Dos Toros Taqueria, Dig, Naya, Earthbar, Carrot Express, Milu, Mighty Quinn's BBQ. On a sunny Friday afternoon almost all the outdoor seating along the water was taken, and there's a lot--enough to seat several hundred people. Plenty of company happy hours going on at Le District and PJ Clarke's next door. It's nice to walk along the waterfront in the evening, the sun can be a bit strong in the summer but the sunsets are beautiful. read more

On my visit to lower manhattan i pass this location, it got my attention from the pier. So I made it one of my stuff after I got off the ferry coming from Jersey city, New Jersey. It's amazing. I did not buy anything just walk it and explore the different stores. Next time that I'm in the area, I think I'm gonna spend a little bit more time.. There is a path to the oculus underground and to the path train and other NYC metro. read more

Whoa, the "food court" in Brookfield Place is not your typical food court. The options are definitely elevated and high quality. Not ideal for a bunch of 8th graders, but this chaperone loved the variety. read more

Brookfield Place is like stepping into the luxury mothership - think Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and other designer brands. The place is pristine, basically spotless, and has a food court that feels way too classy to call just a "food court." Outside, you've got boats and a beautiful water view, which adds to the whole "I'm living the high life" vibe (even if I'm just here for a convention). Speaking of the convention, shoutout to the security guards who helped us not once, but twice, when we got lost. Who knew "finding the Convene" would require actual navigating skills? Oh, and there's an Amazon Go inside for those who want to feel like they're living in the future. Grab a snack without talking to anyone, and bam - you're on your way. We also checked out the Canstruction exhibit, which was surprisingly cool. Who knew cans of food could be so artistically stacked? All in all, no complaints here. Brookfield Place is definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood to window shop, get lost, and pretend you're fancy. 5/5, mostly for the helpful security guards. read more

Wow I didn't know they had a mall in Manhattan! There was so many high name brands in there and the big opening of the palm trees with high ceilings made it feel like paradise! Stumbled upon this place because they had a can-struction display which will be shown to the public for a short time. It's amazing how they used all different colored cans to make amazing art! If you'll allow me a brief detour, I'm bitter about the fools who attacked the BQX light rail plan because it would be funded by "wealthy real estate developers." Certainly these critics included some trust-funders who had no interest in mundane tasks like commuting. Wouldn't it be a favorable thing if some of their zillions went to a public good? Massive projects like Brookfield Place require some degree of government approval, and off the top of my head I have no idea what kind of tax breaks, etc., are involved. In short, I don't know the why, but I know the what, and this has always been a pleasant space. Its purpose is even more crucial now for those of us who believe Covid is still a thing and want a low-key indoor space for a winter day. By contrast, Harborside in Jersey City should aspire to this, but instead it's a construction-clogged nightmare with roach motel-esque traps, adorned with a usually-closed food court, resulting in a waste of a waterfront location. At least JC people have a quick PATH or ferry ride to Brookfield, while New Yorker-ers have a slew of nearby subway and bus options. Not today, car culture. Nope, I'm not the target audience for Tory Burch or even the ice rink, but I do frequent the Hudson Eats food court. The occasional light shows and art exhibits are nice. Even more important, there are multiple bathrooms in a city known for a lack thereof. With Instagrammable sunsets just steps away at the Hudson River, Brookfield Place has the conveniences of regular malls but without the claustrophobia. read more

Holidays in NYC are second to none. So much beauty to behold! Usually in the form of lights. Brookfield Place's Luminaries light display was no exception. Rainbows of color that you can control with a motion sensor box. So creative! This mall is on the newer side, but it's gorgeous. Lots of events and good things to eat. During December they had a cocktail happy hour, Santa, shopping specials and ice skating. I'm sure there was plenty more going on, but I was satisfied exploring stores, le district food court and the outdoor waterfront for a few hours. There's a direct tunnel under the roads to the world trade center and subways so you never have to go outside if the weather is harsh. Hang out in the lovely atrium stairs as long as you like. Brookfield does a great job all year round, but this time of year is extra special. read more

Have come to Brookfield many times since it opened many years ago. I like how it isn't too packed and you have a lot you can do. Whether you want to shop or eat at the food court upstairs or just lounge around on the staircase. The food court vendors are more high-end than normal food court spots. I've tried Springbone (clean broth) to Blue Ribbon (high-quality sushi). Everything is good, but expect to spend a pretty dollar here. The bathrooms are upstairs and are clean and spacious. Used to be called the World Financial Center and now Brookfield Place. Easy to get to from outside and even via the Occulus passage way (good during the winter or in the rain without having to step outside) and from the train station - NYT and PATH trains. Definitely spruced up still with the high end stores and access to the Winter Garden and what is now called Portside. Very new view of the water at Portside. If you go out to Portside and by the water, there is for Brookfield Ferry Terminal as well. Besides the high end shops, there as a passage way to the other side where there are more stores and businesses, restaurants and coffee shops as well. Can dine inside or outside. Winter Garden is always nice and fancy during the holidays as well as the decor in Brookfield Place. read more

This is not a place I would go out of way for, but it is nice to take a walk around if you're in the Battery Park area. Brookfield Plaza is a shopping center with mostly high end stores like Gucci, Club Monaco and Louis Vuitton. There is a small food court on the second floor. There are far better places to go shopping like Hudson Yards. The main draw for this place is there large public atrium with wide glass ceilings. This atrium is beautiful and is itself worth a look inside just to see it. In addition, periodically, they will different art installations on display too. read more

I love this place. I am surprised they don't have more reviews. Brookfield is a high-end shopping center with a food court on the second floor. I can't say I have ever shopped here as most of the items are way outside of my price range. I would normally enter through the Oculus and walk through the tunnel filled with stores and electronic display boards into Westfield. It is such a relaxing feeling to enter Brookfield under the large palm trees and glass windows. Over the past few years there have been several events here. Every Christmas they have the winter garden filled with lights and Christmas trees. I love the Luminaries installation which gets everyone in a happy mood during the holidays. During the summer months they have outdoor movie festivals, exercise classes, and games for families. One time I was able to meet Anthony Davis from the Lakers who was introducing his fashion line at one of the clothing stores. This week I was able to come here for the Tribeca Film Festival. It was a beautiful day to be outside and see the latest movies together especially after Covid. It was the first time they showed In the Heights which is a great movie. The best part for me was having everyone cheer and clap at the end. After the crazy year New York City has had it was great to feel like we were getting back to normal again. read more

Charming as ever, even during these times. Most stores are open and have the usual covid precautions. They're seating people by groups where the food places are like chopt and the coffee shops. The bathrooms are also well maintained and seem to be cleaned often. You can't really take pictures on the stairs as they're are some steps blocked off. There's also an ice rink right now! I called Customer Service and they had no record, even though I had the receipt. Angel, took it upon himself to find the skirt and called me hours later that he had found it. Brookfield is great for the people who work upstairs in the various Goldman, Amex and other offices, and for tourists who want a corporate, predictable "luxury" experience. In cold weather it's also a nice atrium for young families and their little toddlers. For other New Yorkers, it is hit or miss. Some good cafes and food courts but many stalls go out of business quickly, so it's hard to know what to expect. A few mainstream shops. (Nobody actually ever shops in the luxury shops as long as I have lived in the neighborhood, I have almost never seen a customer in them.). Popup boutiques that were really interesting only last a month or two. Services are next to nonexistent. We lost our pharmacy and though we were told a new one would come, 2 years later we are still waiting. Last month I paid $150 for minor purse repairs at the leather care store that took a couple weeks longer than promised, then had to be completely redone a few weeks later and were a few weeks later than promised again. Today they actually told me nobody makes leather care products anymore so they can't sell me any. (after stopping by and being told they'd have them for me today and giving me a price) read more

I love coming here when I'm in the city. Brookfield is located on the lower west side of Manhattan and has something for everyone shopping, dining, live music (pPre- Covid). You can get groceries, have a meal, dine indoors or outdoors. I've loved coming here my entire life especially to sit outdoor during the summer and Have a meal and watch the boats come in and go out. I especially love visiting Sprinkles on the second floor they have some of the best cupcakes! They have specials for each day as well as the daily regulars. We came to Brookfield for the EN GARDE ARTS' A DOZEN DREAMS event. The event is from May 13 - 30, 2021. This event is an immersive installation of sets, lights, video, and sound. We were given an iPhone and headphone (it has covers on it and disinfected after every use) that plays a recording of individuals who shared their stories of resilience and imagining a better future - dreams of flying, traveling, and grappling with what it means to be an artist right now as we move through the installation room by room. The event lasted for almost an hour. Totally recommend it if you have the time, I enjoyed it. read more

The ongoing pandemic has definitely taken a toll on a lot of businesses and public places since a consumer's mindset to buy anything outside of essentials or to visit a public place like a park or beach, has crippled down significantly. Now by living with what has become the new normal, it is commendable on how these businesses and public places continue to remain open and cater to the general public by following the safety standards. It is now all the more important that we as customers, support these heroes during these dark hours to mankind. This is literally a museum for its exceptionally beautiful decors and maintenance. I used to go here when my wife used to work at the downtown. Now with the pandemic, it was like a homecoming after a long time to this wonderful place and it still hasn't lost its pristine touch. It's time of the Holidays and the place is already ready for Christmas with a lot of Christmas trees and also has a nice Ice rink that has been set up outside of it. They have their high end shops like Gucci, Omega and LV but we went to our favorite Coffee shop that sells one of the best macaroons in town and got some of their new varieties. Decided to visit on a recent trip to the city. Beautiful structure, shops, and food options, but a shame about the rude security guards. I see many other Yelp reviews mentioning the problematic, power tripping guards. Lucky me, I got to experience it as well. I was kneeling on a bench talking to my friends in the food court area when a guard came over and said "seats are made for sitting not kneeling. sit down." like what in the absolute eff?! Didn't realize I was in a first grade classroom?! I stared at him blankly in disbelief. Rude. Degrading. The list goes on. Another Yelp review alluded to being treated differently by the guards as an Asian person. I too felt this way about my encounter. My friend used to work for Brookfield, so I'd come here to meet up with him a lot after work and wander the place and surrounding areas. The design and layout seems to always amaze me.They have a food court with a variety of choices, bunch of luxury shops barely anyone ever shops in, and a nice view looking towards the South of the Hudson River pouring into the Atlantic Ocean (and Jersey). There seems to alway be something going on throughout the year. My favorite is when they set up those light-up boxes in the dome area during the winter. Easy access to transportation as it's connected to the Oculus via underground tunnel. You can also catch a glimpse of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. There the occasional concert randomly held, Dragon Boat Race, yachts, movie shoots, you name it. read more

I only seem to visit Brookfield Place once a year and that is for the "Canstruction" exhibit which I love to see. For those who aren't aware of that, its a group of sculptures made of canned goods and a winner is awarded at the end and all the cans of food get donated to City Harvest for shelters in the city. Its wonderful to see and it happens in November. The rest of BP is too vast to easily quantify here since there are a ton of shops and restaurants to explore. The shops can be pricey but hey consider where this is. On a nice day you'd want to head out to the waterfront and enjoy the sights of the ships and life in our city happening around you. My uncle loves coming here when he is in town and my Dad actually found it to his liking when he finally got to wander it with me during his last visit. Sadly there weren't any art displays at that time. There are some open courtyard type spaces inside ala Atrium and when its super cold outside this is where you are better off being. I didn't recall an open WiFi when I last visited but that was based on my not paying attention to the phone. Either way this is an interesting place to explore if you are near for any reason while you visit our city. read more
