We hired Big Springs recently to replace all of the de-listed poly B piping in our 1990's home in Airdrie. This was a large job with spidering pipes throughout the house. They did a fantastic job, were responsive throughout, and completed in a timely manner at a reasonable rate. Mike was my initial contact and he was great with meeting and walking through and explaining the process and getting it all going. We chose Big Springs due to outstanding service that we had received previously when we were renting, by Matt, who went above and beyond and proved to us that this is a company with heart and integrity. Hence why they got this piping job. Along with doing our piping I asked for a recommendation of a contractor to handle the drywall and paint, since our house was being cut top to bottom. (We are new to Airdrie, so we put all our trust in these guys) On their recommendation we brought on Jordan from Concept Construction Service LTD. This too proved to be a great choice and we are equally pleased with the work of Jordan at Concept Construction. Would not hesitate to recommend him too! The job is seamless and our pipes work great and our new walls and paint looks beautiful. Big springs also replaced our Hot water heater, frost free valves and two new toilets, etc. If you are trying to decide whether to use these guys or not, there should be no hesitation. Their workmanship is great, their service has been great (Thank you Matt, Mike, Jason and all others who helped on the job, and the friendly office staff) and in my opinion are very trustworthy. Renovations can be VERY stressful, however this group of people mentioned above made it much easier and less stressful before, during and after the job was completed. More recently I thought i was having a major issue which turned out to be my user error... thanks for your quick response to my moment of stress and anxiety Matt and Mike!! I got a call back within 10 minutes, had the part on hand, and was at my place within 30 minutes! Even better than this, he determined that the gas valve did not need replacement (a wrong diagnosis, done by another company). Rather, the blower belt was broken and set off the high limit switch. He reset the switch, and told me how to replace the belt myself. I promptly went to Canadian Tire and got a new belt for $7.85, instead of $450 for the gas valve. I also gleaned valuable information about furnace replacement options and pitfalls specific to my abode's setup. I'd highly recommend Curt for any HVAC related issue!

What was supposed to be a reasonably siple job turned into something a lot more interesting as the fixtures were original to the builing (+25 years) and parts were almost impossible to find. Most plumbers would have given up and simply provided a quote for, "new". He searched high and low (iterally I think) for the one part for the toilet to make it functional. His persistence paid off! His price was extremely reasonable and I would strongly recommend him based on the experience I had regarding his repairs. I contacted Horizon Heating to replace two existing furnaces that were showing their age. I was…read moregiven a quote complete with options for several different makes and features. Once I made a decision to replace two furnaces, two humidifiers, one air conditioner I was given a firm quote with a start and finish date. Simon and Danny were the two gentlemen that showed up on time despite a large dump of snow. They removed the old furnaces and installed the new furnaces one at a time. At no time was our house uncomfortable during a cold period. They said two and half days. The removal, install was completed on schedule. Everything was left tidy and clean. Both Simon and Danny were very knowledgeable and courteous. Both Simon and Danny were well trained and knew the products they were installing. They kept me informed the whole time, explained how everything worked. The final bill was exactly as quoted. Well done Horizon heating. Thank you.

Avoid this company - Bad material, worse quality, worst customer service…read more I hired this company for a rough in job for upstairs bathroom, just 3 days after using, water mark appeared on ceiling, water went from second story all the way to basement. After inspection, the only leaking point is the weld between shower/tub valve and spout tube. When they received photo and video showing the failed weld still leaking, the company started to blame customer for the damage and try to charge customer for just looking at it. The plumber claim "he tested for two weeks without leak", in reality, there is no water/pressure on the failed weld if the shower was not under use. For behind wall application, they use plastic fitting and shark bite fitting. Their warranty: "Blame customer and let customer pay to get fixed", customer service? "See above". Also they are not BBB accedited company, however they claim they are on Homestar website.
