Like any good husband i wasnt leaving without my wife so i sat at the far side of the lot until she finished. I did absolutely nothing wrong and am completely disgusted by the way i was treated. My wife has been a patient for over a year and all the workers INCLUDING their HR know who i am and why im there. Place is an absolute nightmare. If your really seeking treatment i would %100 avoid asheville comprehensive. Recovery is a wonderful thing and methadone clinics are a great resource but this one is a severely understaffed circus. They have only 1 dosing nurse for over 1000 patients, only a couple counselors, and the doc.

These all day "meetings" were never instructed by licensed staff and almost all of them were ex-addicts (overall very nice) making $17.50/hr. working psychologist I was supposed to meet w/ daily, I only saw privately 3x's. I was there to safely come off benzo's prescribed by a physician, and although I never abused them, Crestview had their hooks on me because I have great insurance. After my 30 days was up I was told by the psychologist (who saw me briefly 3x over 4 weeks) told me I wasn't ready to leave and I had to stay an additional 30 days. When I had called initially to check myself in I was very clear that I was signing up for the 30 day program AND NOT the 60 days the man on the phone said sure. On day 28 I was told that I was "digressing" which was a lie because I felt better than good. After I explained that I signed up for 30 days and not 60, she told me "it's 30 or 60 if days depending on the Dr.'s discretion". was told that I was free to leave but they would not bring me back to my apartment because they said I was leaving against their orders. My family is from Connecticut and I was alone in Asheville 3 hours away from my apartment without any way to reach my family. My phone, wallet and all other necessary personal items were locked up in their office. I was told I'd have to wait 72 hours before I got my phone and wallet. It was February in the Blue Ridge Mountains and I had a flight leaving Charlotte the next morning to see my dying grandmother, but no one cared. I had to walk over a mile to use a man's phone at a bus stop to have my mother call the police to come see what was happening...thankfully my mother believed what I was telling her and not only called the police but got in touch with Senator Julie Mayfield. My things were finally given back and I had to pay $352.00 for an uber to take me almost 3 hours to Douglas airport in Charlotte to fly home. It's tragic how many people I saw being held there...every couple of days someone came back in the room in tears because they were told they could not leave...family members and loved ones were also deceived to gain support for keeping their loved ones there longer because Crestview knows most patients all have habits of lying and manipulating so they use that to their advantage. Crestview and its management have perfected the art of isolating patients and billing CRAZY $$$ to your insurance. ***Senator Mayfield already had an investigation into Crestview*** I'm proud to say that I've maintained my sobriety. I'm happy and healthy and have a lot of people who helped along the way, but Crestview is most certainly NOT on that list. I RECEIVED NO REAL TREATMENT AT THIS FACILITY!!!! I asked before i went if that was possible, & they assured me over & over that it was. By my exit date, i didnt have my shot. Matter of fact, i didnt get my shot till 2 weeks after i left. For someone in a different head space than i was, that could have meant a relapse or death by OD. -always double check your med cup to make sure they give u the right meds. -other clients told me there was issues with being tolf they would have access to their strong meds before going, & not having them once they arrived. Pro: they give out meds fast Housing: -First of all, there were bed bugs. ALL over the couches (that made their way into rooms). They did a very poor job of handling getting rid of them. -men & women were mostly separated with a few men in the women's house. (You can probably guess how this isnt ideal) -beds are very old & uncomfortable Pro: beautiful property & views Food: -if u want consistent nutritious meals, look elsewhere. However, if chips, deli sandwiches, pizza, & fried chicken are your thing, you'll be happy here. -the men can come eat at the women's house, but the women cant eat at the men's. -they say you will "make your own food to teach life skills," but it's actually just them not wanting to pay for a cook Pro: big kitchen Housing Staff: - one was fired bc she was doing sketchy things with giving clients wrong meds on purpose. -one was fired for fading out on the job - many of them talk bad about clients in front of other clients & are overall unprofessional - there is little communication between housing staff to the clinical staff (this causes all kinds of issues -do a very poor job of supervising clients sufficiently Pro: some are nice Clinical Staff - A reason for one of my stars. Most are great. -Didnt see a therapist till 1 1/2 weeks there, then they switched my therapist half way through. This is not a healthcare provider. It is a money-driven operation that thrives on volume, suffering, and a revolving door model of care. Pyramid claims to offer structured, compassionate behavioral health treatment -- but what actually happens is closer to assembly-line warehousing of vulnerable people. From intake to discharge, the focus is on billing insurance, minimizing costs, and pushing people through programs whether or not it benefits them. Let's start with the staff. Many are underqualified, underpaid, and overworked. High turnover is the norm. You might meet a few individuals who genuinely care -- but they're trapped in a broken system that doesn't let them do their jobs effectively. Group therapy often becomes a recycled, repetitive script. One-on-ones? If you get one, it'll likely be rushed and superficial. Facilities vary by location, but many are poorly maintained, dirty, and in disrepair -- which is ironic given how much they charge. Some clients have reported broken showers, mold, rodent issues, and lack of access to basic hygiene products. And let's not forget: this is a company that's rapidly expanding and gobbling up smaller providers. Why? Because it's profitable. Not because it works.
