George's Repair Shop - Wind driven snow 70 west

Left my car on the highway after being stranded on the side of I-70, pregnant with a dog and cat,…read moreand insurance was trying to charge us $1,100 for a tow back to Denver. We found George's location on Yelp and saw they can repair Jeeps. We called and asked if they could tow our Patriot to their shop and take a look at it to find out what's wrong. They asked us to drop off the keys to the shop and they'll take care of it. They gave us the tow price on the phone while we spoke and it was an staggering difference, $148. We gladly accepted, dropped off the keys and headed back to Denver. About an hour later they called us to let us know the car was in the shop and that they had taken a look at the car. They told us we just needed gas! Apparently Jeep Patriots when too hot (car did not register as overheated) need more fluids in them. We had 1/4 of a tank left in the car but it was registering as nothing to the car but not to us. We were so relieved that this shop was honest with us. Not being from the area of Limon and knowing very little about cars, we were considerably worried about being taken advantage of, but clearly these are kind and considerate people. Everyone in the shop was super friendly before, during, and after picking up our keys. Chatting and asking questions about what happened to the car before they even had it! Heaven forbid we break down near Lemon again, we will gladly be returning to George's. Thank you guys for your help and kindness!

We were fortunate enough to incur a flat tire only miles down route 24 from this repair shop…read more Because there were no reviews on here I looked elsewhere to see what others reported on the business. The reviews were mixed but it really was our only choice (4 pm on a Friday night). Upon entering the shop office we received a warm greeting and quick service. I didn't ask for an estimate for how much the repair would cost (as it was our only option and way better than staying over night in Limon waiting to check other shops in the morning). To the point: we received great, friendly service. I was skeptical about the report that the tire had blown out of the sidewall so the repairman offered to bring the tire out to show me the damage. When I asked him to check over the rest of the tires he agreed to do so. I'm very thankful to have stumbled into this shop and given the unfortunate situation again I would go back without hesitation. The bill for a new tire (front right on a BMW 328xi) balance and labor was around $130.00 and took about an hour and a half (they had to wait for the correct tire to be delivered from another dealership). So as far as getting a tired fixed at this location - go for it -- as for other repairs I have no experience about their abilities.

Plus no one answers the phone for customers or the AAA service providers when they try and call. I assume no one was in the office and they figured they'd get to it when they felt like it. Communication definitely needs to improve, along with attentiveness. I would never willingly give these guys any of my money. What jokers. Also immediately noticed that the tow truck driver tore apart some of the interior to my vehicle and I have no idea why. Very sketchy. I'll expect compensation for any extra repairs that have occurred at the hands of the driver.

Wait, this one tops all. My son and I overheated on I25 in June 2025. We called AAA roadside (our…read moremembership is based out of CA but they route you to AAA CO). We called at 3pm. No updates. 500 a driver from BDAT is on the way. 530, he rolls up and loads our beautifully restored camper Westy van. 6pm we pull into a shop that I found was still open and serviced VWs. 615 or so, driver comes into the office where I was with the shopkeeper to say "the gears don't work, I can't get it into gear." What? We had just driven in from CA and been on road for 6 days. No problemos. We were there bc we overheated and I wanted a go-ahead green light, being cautious, that was ALL. The driver of BLACK DIAMOND AUTO TRANSPORT has me go with him to the van, I jump in passenger side and proceed to watch him GRIND BACK AND FORTH the gear shifter WITHOUT THE KEY IN!!! My response in horror: "where's the key?????!!!!!" It was on the dash, he grabs it, puts in key, and wash, rinse repeat, grinds the shifter, "yeah, it doesn't work." That's bc you broke it buddy! I had to rent a vehicle for the balance of our 36 day Westy road trip (where I had her all dialed in!) and we shipped the van back home ($$$$) and RENTED a station wagon (not unlike wagon we intentionally had left at home), had to buy tent/camping equip, had to change all kinds of reservations from van to tent (or different property, and in some cases different city). So expensive (more than $5K) and also emotionally distressing. All bc a boneheaded driver didn't know you need to put the gear in with a KEY. The driver's front window had a MAJOR (ticketable) horizontal chick crack across the entire window + minor cracks. Yes was really late (probably not his fault, but his company's) and he doesn't know automotive. He was nice. That's besides the point. BDAT refused to own their negligence. In fact, now that I have a small claims case filed, they are refusing + returning legal court mail from me re: the trial. Uncanny. How do they sleep at night???

My terrible experience with Steve's Body and Paint…read more.. It is kind of a long story, but essentially I had a blowout on i-70 near Limon. I should have had my vehicle towed to Denver to a reputable repair shop affiliated with Nationwide insurance, but Steve's was the closest. 3 months later, over $10k in repair work, and my vehicle is still not fixed properly. When I picked up my Jeep it was filthy. Interior and exterior was dirty. Once I cleaned the vehicle the poor quality of the work performed by Steve's became visible. The panels that they painted look terrible. Orange peel, overspray, dirt in the clear coat, haze, areas missing clear coat entirely. Molding not properly attached to the vehicle and the decorative stripe that they had to replace doesn't even match the other side of the vehicle. I have since obtained a new estimate to fix the mess created by Steve"s...$2500 to correct the problems they caused. I live 750 miles east of Steve's and the only time I pass through Limon Colorado is on my way to go skiing each year. I have attempted to contact Steve numerous times to see if we could work something out. I was hopeful that he would be willing to look at the new estimate, review the pictures, and discuss some options. No such luck. Steve says he stands by his shops work... the message he has relayed to me through his employee, Julio, is that I need to drive back to Limon so they can fix the problems. Fix the problems that he hasn't even reviewed. So I guess it makes sense for me to drive from St Louis to Limon... stay a few days/nights in a hotel while these knuckleheads try to fix the problems they created and then drive back home. This must be a joke or a bad dream. Steve, If you really want to try to solve this problem I can be reached at 816-668-5515 anytime.

If you don't read this full review just take my word for it you'll be better off going somewhere else. This place is unprofessional their management is terrible. Save yourself a huge headache and lots of money go somewhere else!!!I dropped off a 2004 Dodge with Chris the manager and Jordan Transwest Dodge back in April. Vehicle needed a new Computer. After a couple weeks of not hearing from them I called to see problem. I was assured that there was a top electrician working on it they were having a hard time programming the computer. I explained we needed the vehicle back as it was used for work. They assured me it would be taken care of right away. After not hearing from them another month I canceled insurance and license plates from the vehicle. Another couple of months went by I had to replace and buy another vehicle. Finally got a call from them last week they were discounting the price for taking so long however after the discounted Price was more than the original price I was quoted from the beginning. I really didn't even want it back after sitting in their parking lot for months with who knows how many unqualified mechanics going through it. I went ahead and paid them and picked it up to find The blower not working. I took it back and Chris told me it needed a resistor and he would charge over $100 more to replace it. I told him just leave the keys I'll pick it up. When getting there to pick it up he left the wrong keys. That's right I have the keys to another customers GMC at the dealer. And I'm now finding out that the resister just fine this is a wiring problem going in to the computer imagine that. Dealing with these guys is a total nightmare, I am going to take my losses and go somewhere else.
