I always wanted to go horse back riding with family and/friends so for my birthday my husband booked us at Just Ride. We booked the two hour experience where we rode through Tree Top Park and even saw burrowing owls. John made sure to take pictures and videos of us along the way. I recommend this 10/10 even for those with zero experience like us! Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, jeans or workout pants and a long sleeve shirt. Sunglasses are recommended, I wore my ray-ban metas and got some great pictures and videos.

All I know is I felt like I was at my cousin's house and they happened to have animals. There were no directions or explanations...until it came time to pay. Now that part was explained perfectly. Honestly, I probably could have seen the same thing at my local shelter and saved $30. I'm hoping the money goes toward helping the animals, but it's really hard to tell. They have goats, plenty of birds, llamas, pigs, and horses. I wouldn't call it a true petting zoo because most of the petting is done through a gate. If you want a horse ride, you have to ask. No one offers or tells you about it. Everything looked like it could use some updating or repairs, and the overall vibe from most of the staff was, "Please hurry up so we can get back to what we were doing." A couple of employees were pleasant and helpful, but they weren't going above and beyond. They simply gave us what we asked for. Overall, I probably won't be back. At least my $30 went toward helping the animals...I hope.

Before coming in, Mandy was very helpful and responded quickly to my messages and questions. The day of the ride, the weather was great and my assigned horse, Spirit was just lovely. We got to explore a beautiful park that had a combination of wide, open spaces as well as smaller paths, completely surrounded by a variety of trees, vines and plants. I really appreciated the freedom and feeling of being away from the city. It might be helpful to mention that both Happi Farm and HGS share a location, however they are separate. In order to get to Hidden Stables you have to cross through Happi Farm, which can be a bit daunting, but honestly everyone worked swiftly to make sure people moved to the side & the animals were safe! I purchased a groupon for Double Flush Stables and contacted them via text (as instructed on the…read moregroupon) I got an automated response stating all the [strict] rules then proceeded to schedule a date. Groupon's are not accepted on the weekends and so we only had weekday options. They get booked up fast and the earliest availability was one month out. On the day of our ride, we got a text an hour before the scheduled time stating our ride was cancelled due to the possibility of thunder storms. We tried to reschedule our ride for a closer date however it got pushed back another month. The stables had beautiful horses and other animals like goats, pigs and cows. We arrived a few minutes late and so we had to pay $20/ea to ride the horses. We rode the horses down a beautiful path in a park however we barely took pictures because we were told if we dropped anything the guide would charge us $20 for each time she had to get off the horse to retrieve the item. The trail ride was supposed to be 75 minutes but it was cut short. According to their rules, the wait time is deducted from the ride. We were 10 minutes late, and so we expected a 65 minute ride. We ended up riding for 45 minutes, so they actually deducted 30 minutes from the ride. I enjoy riding horses, therefore I enjoyed my time but I would not go back nor would I recommend these stables to others solely based on their lack of customer service. My advise to them would be to be more lenient. Smile. Don't be so abrupt, it definitely took away from the fun.
