Sat in section 106 row B seat 9 for reference. It's a fairly small arena which is nice because you get a good view from almost any seat you choose. The downside? Drink prices here are through the roof (which is to be expected but still kinda annoying). I paid $36 for 2 cans of modelos. Most sections had no security so there were many people who kept seat hoping. It was mainly an issue for people who had front row seats since people would sneak into your spot if you left to use the restroom, to the bar, etc.. they'd move out of your spot once you returned but it's still annoying to have to repetitively do that if you need to leave for a short period of time. But you was warning about my small purse In the first instance, I had intended to attend the Mike Epps show, but my friend's purse was excessively large. Secondly, the air was heavily scented with marijuana and cigarettes. Consequently, I approached Usher, assuming that smoking was permitted within the venue. However, I was informed that this was not the case and that the establishment had no authority to address the issue. Wintrust Arena is a smaller venue, which is nice once you're inside because there really aren't bad seats. That said, getting in was more annoying than it needed to be. There wasn't much direction on which line to stand in -- some lines were obvious, but there was also a long line off to the side with zero explanation. That mystery line? Turns out it's for bag check. My crossover bag was very, very, very slightly oversized (like... come on ), and I had to leave the main line, check my bag in a locker, get a code, then get back in the main line again. Of course, this also meant waiting again after the game to retrieve it. Super inconvenient. Inside, the arena is pretty standard, just smaller. I went to see the Chicago vs. Dallas WNBA game -- I had literally just landed in Chicago and was looking for something to do that night. I mainly went to see Angel Reese, but honestly, I wasn't super impressed. Arike Ogunbowale, though? That girl can HOOP. She definitely caught my eye. I'm from Texas, so I found myself cheering for both the Dallas Wings and Angel Reese... somehow that math still worked. Overall, decent arena experience, but clearer signage and a little grace with bag sizes would go a long way. As someone who has been to a lot of shows at MSG in New york, I was curious to see how my first show at Wintrust would compare! All in all I had a pleasant experience - we showed up pretty early to make sure we could snag good seats, which was definitely the move as people were having issues finding seats about halfway through the second opener. Sound quality was pretty good and the visuals they were able to bring in were awesome. Drinks were... stadium pricing. But we had already anticipated that and weren't planning on drinking much during the show anyways. Staff were hit or miss in terms of helpful/friendliness.. though I guess that's also somewhat to be expected. If you know how to optimize your experience, Wintrust is a solid venue. read more

First time seeing an EDM show at this arena, and it went pretty smoothly! I have to say this venue was smaller than I expected but nonetheless I had a good time. Now Wintrust arena consists of 3 floors, amd each one is tiered by what you pay. Floor is the most expensive option while the higher up you go, the less expensive it is. I got floor and the vibes were great. It did help that the artist playing was GRiZ so the crowd vibes would be an elevated experience. The production and sound of this location was alao top notch. I thoroughly enjoyed that at floor you can still check out the other 2 floors to get food or merchandise, but to get on the seats you need separste tickets. Still, had a great time here. read more

Not my favorite arena, but I had a great time checking it out for the Chicago Sky game! This was my first Sky game, so I was super excited. I wasn't prepared (probably on me) for how strict security was going to be about the purse size requirements. Mine was just a hair (I'm talking BARELY) too big so after waiting in line to get in, I was sent to another line outside the building to wait to check my purse in one of their lockers. The plus side is that it's free, the downside is you have to wait outside and depending on how long the line is can take a little bit. 20 minutes later I was back in the stadium. It's nice! My group had a reserved space with great seats. Watching the team play was so much fun -- I wish more people were there to cheer them on! The stadium was probably only about 60% full. We had a buffet with nachos, hot dogs, popcorn, and more. The food was pretty average, with the build your own nacho bar being the star of the show for me. Getting ubers in and out of the arena was very easy. I would love to come back for another game!! read more

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Wintrust Arena. I attended a comedy show expecting an enjoyable evening, but instead spent much of the event exposed to cigarette and marijuana smoke inside the venue. As someone with asthma, this created a serious health concern. I alerted staff multiple times, and they personally witnessed people smoking in the seating area. Despite this, no action was taken and the smoking continued throughout the show. The area where I was seated consistently smelled of marijuana, making it difficult to enjoy the event. What made the situation even more frustrating was the apparent inconsistency in policy enforcement. Security strictly enforced purse size requirements at entry, yet visible smoking inside the arena seemed to be ignored. If venue policies are important enough to inconvenience paying guests at the door, they should also be enforced when it comes to guest safety and comfort. To add to the poor experience, after the show ended I was simply waiting for my ride and felt like staff were more concerned about moving people out than addressing the issues that occurred during the event. I paid to attend a comedy show, not to sit in a smoke-filled environment. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves enforcement of venue policies moving forward. read more

My first time coming to the Wintrust Arena. I heard Deon Cole was coming to The Chi. So, I drove to Wintrust to purchase tickets to avoid all the ridulous extra fee charges. We were able to pick some good seats that had a good view of the stage. There were monitors displayed at the top for better viewing. Spacious venue and every seat in the building had a clear straight view of the stage. Security was outside checking all bags. If your purse or bag measurement wasn't a certain size of this folded paper. You had to go take your bag back to the car. The lines moved fast and it was easy to find your seats. The only complaint was the small hard seats that were very uncomfortable. The venue was jammed pack and people were squeezing pass to take their seats. FYI. Get there early to find meter street parking. There were lots of street parking in the area. The concession stand lines were crazy. Glad we got there early to find parking and went to eat before the concert started. Prices for food and drinks at Wintrust are pricey. I look forward to my next concert. Wintrust Arena is where the home of WNBA team the Chicago Sky's. The Arena is located downtown Chicago in walking distance from Hilton Hotel which is where I stayed and was able to walk right out of the hotel and across the street to the Arena. The Arena looks fairly new and was nice and clean and not too big of an Arena the bathrooms were very clean. Went to my first Chicago Sky game last weekend here and it was great! Easy in and even easy to get out with minimal congestion! Our seats were in the 200s but we had a great view! It's a smaller arena than the United Center so I don't believe there's a bad seat in the house. Minus one star for the pricey concessions and drinks ($48 for two cocktails!) and parking is $25 in their lot. We were fortunate to find street parking. The game was enjoyable. Scored big celebrating my Dad's birthday at the Chicago Sky game. It was my first Chicago Sky game and it was a great time. The lines move pretty fast for the security check. Management Office Wintrust Arena 200 E Cermak Rd Chicago, IL 60616 Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Treatment and Policies at Wintrust Arena Event on November 15, 2025 To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment and concern regarding my first time experience at Wintrust Arena during the Terry Hunter House Party event held on November 15, 2025. As a lifelong Chicago resident of 52 years, I have attended countless events throughout the city. What I encountered at this venue was unacceptable, unnecessarily hostile, and created an environment that felt discriminatory, unwelcoming, and overly policed. 1. Excessive Police Presence & Unnecessary Restrictions Upon arrival, the area surrounding the arena was heavily saturated with police--far beyond what is typical for events of similar size or audience demographic. I was dropped off near the front entrance, only to be told by a CPD officer that my driver would receive a ticket simply for letting me out. This is unreasonable, especially considering this event catered specifically to an older, mostly African American audience, many of whom may reasonably require easier access and accommodation. As someone who has attended events across many communities and venues, the contrast was impossible to ignore. This level of policing does not appear at events that are not predominantly African American. The atmosphere felt unnecessarily aggressive and targeted, leaving many attendees uncomfortable before even entering the building. 2. Inconsistent, Unannounced, and Inconvenient Bag Policy Enforcement As I approached the entrance, a staff member stopped me and stated that my purse was "too large" to enter the arena. My purse was no larger than a small camera bag or lunch bag. At no point during ticket purchase or the event's promotional materials was this restriction clearly communicated. I witnessed numerous women--again, mostly older attendees--being turned around and told their bags were not permitted. Returning to one's car was not a reasonable option due to the distance and lack of nearby parking. Although the lockers provided were free, the situation was still highly inconvenient and poorly handled. Most troubling, attendees were required to sign a waiver stating that Wintrust Arena is not responsible for any items stored in the lockers--even though we were forced to use them due to last-minute enforcement of a poorly communicated policy. This put guests at unnecessary risk and created an avoidable sense of vulnerability. 3. Poor Event Layout & Inadequate VIP Accommodations The VIP section offered no seating, despite being marketed as a premium experience. For an event designed for an older demographic, failing to provide seating is unreasonable and inconsiderate. Many attendees cannot stand or dance for extended periods without the ability to sit. The lack of structure and planning around VIP and general seating contributed to discomfort and disappointment. Ultimately, I left the event early due to the physical strain caused by the absence of seating. 4. Overall Environment Felt Targeted and Unwelcoming Taken together--the excessive police presence, the sudden bag enforcement, and the restrictive, uncomfortable environment--it felt as though this older African American audience was being treated with heightened suspicion rather than respect and hospitality. Meanwhile, many of Chicago's public spaces such as buses, trains, and platforms frequently lack adequate security, yet an indoor event with a mature, peaceful crowd was subjected to extreme measures. As a lifelong Chicagoan, I never expected to feel this unwelcome in my own city at an event designed for my age group and community. Requested Actions I respectfully request the following: 1. A written explanation for the excessive police presence and the threat of ticketing drivers simply dropping off guests. 2. Clarification of Wintrust Arena's bag policy and why it was not properly communicated prior to the event and not during. 3. Explanation of why guests were required to sign a liability waiver for locker use when the venue mandated their use. 4. A review and correction of VIP accommodations, especially when hosting events for older attendees. 5. Assurance that future events--particularly those attended by predominantly African American guests--will be handled with fairness, respect, and without unnecessary policing or intimidation. I hope Wintrust Arena will treat this complaint with the seriousness it deserves and respond with transparency, accountability, and a commitment to improving the guest experience going forward. Located near Chinatown so get there extra early to find cheaper parking a few blocks away and grab some food too. With a parking garage less than a block away, this is a nice venue to attend an concert or event. The parking cost $25 and is well worth it, considering Chicago weather is less than desirable half the year. Different from any arena I've been to, I didn't pass a single concession on my way from the entrance to my seat. That seemed odd to me. I know there's food there. Their website indicates there is. But instead of being scattered throughout, they seem to be located only in a few sections. It's a great venue for a concert or event because it's large but not so big that you risk having terrible seats. The parking garage was attached to the arena, which saved us the trouble of finding a good spot, plus a long walk to the arena. We were charged $25 for a fee. It may change depending on the artist or event. Security was pretty thorough but efficient, so thumbs up for that. The arena was big enough for a concert but not too big that any seat you choose, you'll still have a good view of the artist. The way that they handled the merch line was really efficient. I went to Wintrust for the first time last October for an Enhypen concert and it was a bit chaotic. Wintrust had stated that camping wasn't allowed, which is totally fine, however, different staff members were telling people different things which was a bit confusing. They stated that we would be able to line up at 9am for GA for VIP ticket holders, but there wasn't an organized and safe way for fans to line up. Instead, people were running and trampling over each other to receive their numbers, however, it ended up being a lottery system anyways so lining up was pointless. Once we received our numbers, we were allowed to leave and come back at 2pm to line up again for merch and to receive our soundcheck lanyards and then later again at 5pm for soundcheck. This was nice, but we were all just expected to get in a single file line by numerical order (which is a bit difficult when there's over 300+ VIP ticket holders and there were no directions/instructions). Though the concert was amazing and I had a great time, I just wished it was a bit more organized overall. read more

Attended a Chicago Sky Basketball game at this venue for the very first time. It was easy to get to the arena. We found on-street parking but guest parking was easy to find as well. Once there, it was a quick process to get in, find our seats and food. The arena was very clean, including the restrooms. The on-site team were all pleasant, helpful and demonstrated a sense of urgency. The food was good and the retail area was staffed appropriately. The only drawback was the bag policy prohibiting purses and backpacks but that's pretty standard these days. read more

I am embarrassed to say the last time I watched the Chicago Sky WNBA team play live, they were on Halsted at the U of I! Not sure how long ago that was but it's TOO long! I wanted to support more women's sports, and since this is venue is closer to me than the United Center, Sox Park, Wrigley, SeatGeek Stadium (Red Stars), but not really Soldier Field, I figured I'd give it a go. They were returning from break after the killer GOLD MEDAL WINNING Olympics performance. It's right around the corner from McCormick place, accessible by bus, near hotels and As with most venues, the extra fees were just crazy; a $35 ticket ballooned to $50 or so! We came in, wearing masks and went through security. It's best to DOWNSIZE your purse bag when entering. I had a clutch and it was fine, but anything bigger they get suspish.. The venue is new, spacious, clean, but..ALL the concessions were on the FIRST FLOOR! I realize with Covid, and being all but closed last year, it was hard to get employees but really! Our seats were on the 2nd floor, so we had to buy food (in very long lines)and get on an elevator or escalator and carry it up. The seat labels were confusing. There were only a few people in our area anyway. The selections were ok; we really wanted fresh popped popcorn but they just open a bag and put it under a heat lamp! I notice many venues do this now, only movie theater actually pop popcorn! We had lunch already so we just got popcorn, nachos, ice cream sandwich and drinks. They listed nachos with meat, but that was not available. Still kinda pricey for something pre-packaged. Nothing except the ice cream tasted good. The bathrooms were large, nearly empty, and clean. Anaya H.'s review reminded me about FREE FEMININE products in the bathrooms! If I go again I'll try pizza or something made there, or prob just get drinks and eat before I go. I came for a concert and the sound quality was terrible. During the show the bass was so loud that I couldn't hear the performers sing. When exiting the venue they had some of the stairways closed so had to go outside to get back into the parking deck. read more

A friend and I attended Ben Platt's concert here last week! Overall, I'd say the venue was simple, yet effective. We read about the parking nightmares that could arise at the venue and parked a bit farther out in South Loop with no issues. Security was quick and polite. I will say, try not to bring a bag at all if possible. I brought a jacket with pockets and made it work. There was a lot of communication about bag restrictions, but it seemed not consistent. A few people around us complained that their bags were following the rules but were told their bags "looked" too big. We bought seats in section 206 and the view wasn't awful. I will say that it was a bit disappointing there were no screens set up for those in the higher seats. Ben would have been really difficult to see if we stayed there (see the rest of the review for more info!). The chairs were surprisingly comfy! I was a bit shocked and felt they were a step up from Allstate Arena and United Center (as others have mentioned). We didn't get any food, but it looked like typical stadium food. The bathrooms were incredibly clean and the lines to enter weren't long. Another pleasant surprise! The opener (Aly & Aj) started and the sound was decent, but as stated, was really not the best view without stage screens. The sound and lights were great! During Aly & Aj's set, one of the staff members approached me during the opening asking if my friend and I would like to be upgraded for free!! Obviously we said yes and that moment changed the entire dynamic. Being able to see the performers from section 125 was amazing!! We are incredibly thankful because it was so much easier to see. If you have the option, I highly recommend trying to get closer seats. I know people always say that, but if we stayed in section 206 I would have felt pretty sad watching ant sized performers. Overall, a very great night in a good venue! I would like to give four and a half stars because of the screen issue. I chose 4 because others also complained around us about it. We just happened to be the lucky ones upgraded. I don't think I would be super thrilled about going back here for another concert, but I also wouldn't completely ignore the opportunity to go back. read more

Went to Sky game, August 28, 2024. Handicap accessibility is horrible as there is none! Sure they elevators, but I really didn't see them. Had to take escalator. Unlike White Sox Park and the United Center, Wintrust has no wheelchairs for those with physical disabilities. Thought it is a federal law that all buildings have to be handicap accessible with reasonable accommodations. Felt extreme pain for hubby who is at Stage 4 cancer, but felt good enough to get out. He gets extremely short winded when having to walk long distances. Even though Sky lost, the outing was well worth it! Wintrust, you can do better. Please do! read more

Nice venue! Recently, I became a Chicago Sky season ticket holder and thus a regular visitor to Wintrust. The venue is conveniently located off the (CTA) green line Cermak/McCormick station. It's also a short drive to I-55 and Lakeshore Drive. It's location is perfect especially if you live in the city. The best thing about Wintrust is that there's not really a bad seat in the house. It's small enough that everyone can feel as though they are having an intimate experience. The seats aren't overly comfortable, but they're typical as to what you might find at any arena in the states. Each time I've visited the arena has been clean (including bathrooms) and the staff has been helpful. The food isn't the greatest, but it's edible. Skyriders (Sky season ticket holders) get a 10% discount on merchandise and food which is nice. I've had the burgers, hot dogs and pretzels... meh... my advice is to just eat before you leave home. It's overpriced and mediocre. For example, the popcorn isn't popped fresh. It comes out of a bag and they just put it under a heating lamp. Overall, it's a great venue though. It sure beats driving over to the United Center or all the way out to Allstate Arena in Rosemont. Things to keep it mind - You can only take clear bags into the arena It takes 45 min on average to exit the parking garage so if you're in the city taking CTA is highly recommended. There's always a large crowd exiting the game heading to the train so it's relatively safe. The area isn't as bad as some might assume. There are FREE feminine hygiene products in the bathroom (Yay!) I got to see my alma mater, DePaul University, play and WIN against Marquette University on Blue Demon Day! Wahoo!!! It's a 10,000 seat arena with two levels and i don't think you can get a bad seat anywhere. The only issue is that the concession stands aren't as plentiful. So half time can wizzzzzzz by of you wait till then to grab some grub. Parking is shared with the McCormick Center, making it a maze to get to if you're in lot C. I suggest getting there early because MCC always has events there filling up spots. I do wish that DePaul Women's team played at Wintrust, though. I don't see why they don't. They're better than the men's team, but I'll take that up with DePaul Athletics. In the meantime, I'll watch another game at Wintrust. read more

It may be brand new, but they are pushing their limitations. You are basically only allowed to bring what you can fit in your pockets. Women can only bring a clutch, which hardly holds a wallet. You are to lock your bags up in lockers they provide. I do not feel safe leaving my wallet, keys, and other personal items in a locker room OUTSIDE in the south side of Chicago. Women's pockets are not big enough to hold our personal belongings like a man. Forcing a woman to rely on a man to hold her belongings (that feels incredibly sexist and anti female). Stop acting like every person who paid to attend the arena is a criminal. It's not worth the $30+ cab ride for whatever mediocre performance or sport they are hosting. read more

Had a lovely experience at the Wintrust Arena for the WNBA Championship game- wahoo! The arena had very strict Covid-19 protocols- masks and proof of vaccination required- and most in the building actually followed them until the end of the game. All of the staff were friendly, the seats all appeared to have a good view of the action, and the stadium was very clean. We parked in the McCormick place lot which had discounted parking for the game. Really the only negatives were on the snack and merch fronts- the lines were very long as there was only snacks and merch on one floor of the arena. Hoping this is due to staffing shortages, but it might be an always concern here that would prevent it from being a full 5 star experience. Can't wait to go back for games in 2022! read more

This is Chicago's newest sports arena that I will visit and I think they've done a great job with the construction. It starts with the attached parking garage, this makes accessing the arena totally indoors if you take the skywalk over. Parking fee's were actually less than many alternative options. The arena itself has a very small feel to it. Our seats were upstairs and we didn't feel like we were sitting in nose bleeds. About ten minutes after arriving the Athletic Director for DePaul came by and introduced himself to us. He then asked if my family of four would like to sit courtside for free. Not a hard choice! Our 'new' seats were on the baseline closest to the DePaul bench. For those of you who have never experienced a game this way, it gives the game a whole new meaning. This doesn't have anything to do with the arena but I have to extend my utmost thanks to the DePaul AD for this experience. It really blew us away. Back to the arena, circumnavigating the concourse is easy. They don't seem to have a great deal of vendors here but I believe they likely cater to the expected crowd. If this was the Star Wars convention I'm sure a lot more vendors would be open. We never had to wait more than a minute to get to the front of a line for food/drinks. The building is new so it's also extremely clean. Staffing here is very pleasant and helpful. I'm looking forward to coming back soon! read more
