Dinner and lunch here are NOT always an option (they do special events and seasonally open as a dinner restaurant) but breakfast was exceptional! From their famous tomato pie (savory tomato and melted cheese over a seasoned biscuit) to the quiche to the hash Potatoe casserole. It was all delicious and just enough.

This raised our rate by $100/ night. I did speak to the GM, her name was Kawonna Brown. She cancelled my reservation the day of my stay and told me that she did not have to honor the rate I booked at. She also told me that they were completely sold out and had no rooms available. When I arrived at the hotel 20 minutes later and asked to speak to her I was told she had left for the day. It was 2 pm at this time. The girl at the front desk named Ashyri knew that what the GM was doing was wrong and told me I have a room for but I can't override the price I don't have that authority. She did put me in a suite to try and help the matter. Which was kind of her. But I told her 20 minutes ago Kawonna told me there were no rooms available period and now you are putting me in a suite? She said I can't comment on that sir. The property is dirty the tv didn't work the breakfast was terrible my toilet made noises nonstop and I was told that pool had been closed for over 2 years. Marriott should be ashamed that their name is on this property. It is not a Marriott quality property. After looking for the company that owned this property I found this...As of April 2026, the Fairfield Inn & Suites Marshall in Texas is identified as a property under a receivership sale, indicating it is managed or owned through a court-appointed receiver. I was too far to turn around so they offered to ship my belongings back to me. I was super impressed with their honesty and service. Will stay at this hotel again the next time I am passing through!

While on a long road trip, I planned to stop for the night in Texarkana, AR; I made better time…read morethan I thought, so I decided to drive for a bit longer. I stopped while in Texarkana to use a go-to app for searching out hotels - Priceline. Not many options listed for Marshall and Holiday Inn Express & Suites seemed like the best option based on available information. I used the direction provided by Priceline. It was getting later in the evening, and unfortunately, Priceline directions landed me in a residential neighborhood, not even close to the destination. The hotel was about 15 minutes from where Priceline had directed me to go. The room above mine had some people who walked with very heavy feet, so I heard every step made throughout the night and the next morning. Seems as if sound deadening material was left out of the construction planning for this hotel. Staff was friendly, and the free breakfast was decent. It's better than some and not as good as some other hotels. The parking lot in front of the hotel was well lit, and even though the hotel was at the every end of the street, I had no concerns about my vehicle.

I had to have someone who apparently lives upstairs go find the front desk clerk who wasn't even on the property. She has been very rude and said that management has banned all animals including my service animal which breaks federal law. There are trailers left here, broken windows, blankets used as curtains, people living in random rooms with grills outside. I'm truly not sure how a hotel like this became so trashy but it's unacceptable. I will definitely be filling a complaint with the proper department about the exclusion of register service animals.
