This raised our rate by $100/ night. I did speak to the GM, her name was Kawonna Brown. She cancelled my reservation the day of my stay and told me that she did not have to honor the rate I booked at. She also told me that they were completely sold out and had no rooms available. When I arrived at the hotel 20 minutes later and asked to speak to her I was told she had left for the day. It was 2 pm at this time. The girl at the front desk named Ashyri knew that what the GM was doing was wrong and told me I have a room for but I can't override the price I don't have that authority. She did put me in a suite to try and help the matter. Which was kind of her. But I told her 20 minutes ago Kawonna told me there were no rooms available period and now you are putting me in a suite? She said I can't comment on that sir. The property is dirty the tv didn't work the breakfast was terrible my toilet made noises nonstop and I was told that pool had been closed for over 2 years. Marriott should be ashamed that their name is on this property. It is not a Marriott quality property. After looking for the company that owned this property I found this...As of April 2026, the Fairfield Inn & Suites Marshall in Texas is identified as a property under a receivership sale, indicating it is managed or owned through a court-appointed receiver. I stopped while in Texarkana to use a go-to app for searching out hotels - Priceline. Not many options listed for Marshall and Holiday Inn Express & Suites seemed like the best option based on available information. I used the direction provided by Priceline. It was getting later in the evening, and unfortunately, Priceline directions landed me in a residential neighborhood, not even close to the destination. The hotel was about 15 minutes from where Priceline had directed me to go. The room above mine had some people who walked with very heavy feet, so I heard every step made throughout the night and the next morning. Seems as if sound deadening material was left out of the construction planning for this hotel. Staff was friendly, and the free breakfast was decent. It's better than some and not as good as some other hotels. The parking lot in front of the hotel was well lit, and even though the hotel was at the every end of the street, I had no concerns about my vehicle.

My family were on a trip to Caddo Lake and unfortunately it started raining, leaving us stranded while not being able to do much at the park after a tour. Staff at La Quinta was very accommodating and had our rooms as early as 12PM. This I am entirely grateful for, and for the most part, our rooms were clean and organized. The complimentary breakfast was decent enough; they had cereal, bagels, bread, eggs, sausage, biscuit and waffles, along with apple juice, orange juice, coffee and milk as drink options. Definitely come between 6AM-9AM, otherwise you'll miss breakfast. There's plenty of seating at the dining area; if you need extra snacks or drinks past hours, soda is $2 and a bottle of water is $1. The not so pleasant things: while clean, these rooms are average at best. They did provide enough towels and toilet paper, but there was barely any soup (just two small bars) and the shower was partially damaged albeit functioning. There's no carpeting on the floor, which isn't something I'm used to whenever I go to hotels. The pillows were marshmallow soft yet lumpy and the blankets were too thin for my liking. The AC was loud and the mattress was too soft so I woke up multiple times at night. Overall, you get what you pay for. Don't expect high quality goods or service but expect the basic needs to be met at a place like this La Quinta Inn.

I had to have someone who apparently lives upstairs go find the front desk clerk who wasn't even on the property. She has been very rude and said that management has banned all animals including my service animal which breaks federal law. There are trailers left here, broken windows, blankets used as curtains, people living in random rooms with grills outside. I'm truly not sure how a hotel like this became so trashy but it's unacceptable. I will definitely be filling a complaint with the proper department about the exclusion of register service animals.

Once I was at Comfort Suites I felt safe & happy with the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the room, quiet atmosphere & great breakfast. It was so nice having Tia welcome me when I'd check in each week to the housekeeping staff smile & get whatever I needed. I spent 4 months staying M-F there & I can't say enough.
