It's not the most glamorous place the toilets smell and there are nowhere near enough of them so they're always crowded, and more often than not, your feet stick to the floor in the bar. There's a massive dance floor though, and they do an offer on certain nights where drinks (including shots and selected bottles and pints) are £1.

Bf had fish and chips which he has had before so obviously likes. We didn't have to wait too long for the food and it came out hot. This is a great stop off from the Middlewood Way (and could form a Middlewood Way pub crawl with the Vale Inn in Bollington, the Miners Arms in Adlington, the Boar's Head in Higher Poynton, and the Station in Marple.

It's a really funky bar in Hudder, and (although this may sound presumptious, it's more due to naivete) wouldn't feel out of place in Leeds. The staff were too cool for school, the selection of drinks offered top notch Belgian beers, worldly lagers, and a decent cocktail selection, and the wall is plastered with rather excellent gig posters and other accoutrement. Your eyes fail to get bored, it's almost as bad as having a TV screen -you can't stop gazing. Whilst our visit was brief, it was a memorable one, be it for the fine drinks, the arcade machine in the corner, the random overtly drunk middle aged lady being propped up by Uni students, the grungy décor, and the immediate location to the train station. Last night we attended Labyrinth in concert at the venue. We were in the upper balcony, centre…read morestage. There were two women on the back row being disruptive, loud and one of the women had clearly had a lot to drink. We asked them politely to keep the noise down and this fell on deaf ears (probably because they were too loud to hear it). Their behaviour was ruining our experience so once the show came to the interval, we found two members of staff and alerted them to the situation. At this point another patron came up to us and advised the staff that they were unhappy with the two women's behaviour too, and that a group of people had left because of the two women and that multiple people had already asked to move seats because of the disruption. We were told by the staff that a supervisor was on the way, no supervisor ever materialised. We were told that the two women would be spoken to. We watched as the two staff members went to where the women were sitting but did nothing, the disruptive women were never spoken to. The interval was almost over and our party of four did not want to spend the second half next to the badly behaved women and it was clear that the staff were going to do nothing about them. We were offered to move seats to the end of balcony on the left side of the stage, but we felt this view was restricted and not as good a view as our previous seats. We asked if we could move downstairs where there was multiple four seats available but were told we could only stay in the balcony area. I feel this was astonishingly poor customer care, that we felt penalised for the behaviour of others. We lost better seats, lost half of the performance whilst the women who were causing the disruption were allowed to carry being awful to everyone around them, spoiling people's experience and never being questioned. When we were leaving the venue, I went to retrieve my ticket for my umbrella which had been taken aside by a member of staff. There were no staff around for me to hand my ticket to and then I saw that my umbrella alongside other people's belongings had been left on a table where anyone could take these and walk off with them. I then found a member of staff by the doors and asked her who I could speak to about making a complaint. I was met with a stony faced woman who just said 'there's an email address on the website', no 'I am sorry to hear that' no shred of customer care or anything, just a poor end to a terrible experience. I feel incredibly aggrieved that each ticket for our party cost £48.64 each, we spent a total of £194.55 for a night that was ruined by the behaviour of two people and that the staff were aware that these two women were ruining the show for multiple people yet their response was to move everyone else and leave the offending people to continue to act appallingly with no comeback.

The venue is just the right size to be able to get a good view even at the back of the hall. The sound also carries well in there unlike some bigger venues. They seem to attract quite a lot of bands, particularly older bands who can still attract a good crowd. There are numerous bars in the city hall, all of which are quite expensive but no more so than other event venues. There are also icecream sellers. It's also seems that you don't have to queue for the loo for hours unlike at the bigger venues.

The Inn is firmly rooted in the community, so new visitors should be careful to not 'swan in' like they own the place. It's recommended to show some respect and then everyone gets on fine, this isn't a city bar. The Castle can be hard to reach by public transport, so take the car, poke around the lovely village and enjoy a quiet drink with some hearty grub. That's the way to enjoy the Castle.

I was able to get a table fairly easily on a Saturday, phoning ahead with under an hour's notice for a table of three, which I was pleased with. The process of ordering was the same as any TGI location, I was given a QR code to scan, and then a manager took my order, due to having an allergy. I ordered the 1/2 rack of Classic BBQ ribs, which came with a side of fries and corn, as well as extra BBQ sauce and coleslaw. The food tasted pretty good, the ribs were good quality and had a nice amount of meat on them, while the fries were seasoned well, I did find the corn to be very dry as it was served without any form of seasoning or butter. The cocktails were also very good, I loved the Applejack which combined Jack Daniels Apple with lemonade, apple juice and moose liqueur. I also tried the Alaskan Iced Tea, which was a unique take on a Long Island, with lemonade and blue curacao, which looked and tasted good. The wait for the food was reasonable as they were VERY busy, however, I did have a long wait for one of my drinks, which meant it didn't arrive until AFTER the food had arrived and I had to chase this up twice. I later found out this was because they had run out of Jack Daniels and had to run over to Tesco across the way - While I appreciate them getting the stuff to make my drink, I would have liked to be kept in the loop rather than having such a long wait. Prices are a little expensive, but the loyalty scheme is generous. It appears you get around 10% of your spend back in the form of "Stripes" to be used on a future visit, with offers regularly available ranging from a free cocktail with every main ordered, to 20% off your food bill. On this occasion, my server allowed me to use both offers! My sever was very friendly, despite being busy he still had time to take care and attention to our table and deliver the best service possible, and he even allowed us to combine offers, to save some money off our bill. 4* - A nice TGI location which I will return to. Some improvements are to be made for sure, especially with transparency in regards to longer than expected waiting times and the car-park clearly stating you must register your car inside but with nowhere to do it when you get inside the restaurant.
