History
Established in 1979.
Witherspoon Fine Art was established in the business district of Littleton, CO in 1979. Kay Witherspoon's art classes rapidly grew in popularity as did the size of her oil paintings and commissions. In 2004, this growth necessitated the purchase of a much larger, 1890 square foot, north light townhome located between Lone Tree and Parker, CO. This relaxed environment serves as both her art studio and classroom.
Meet the Business Owner: Kay W.
Kay Witherspoon is a former high school art instructor with a master's degree in education. She began her desired career as a professional oil painter and instructor within a year of graduating from the University of Colorado in 1997 and upon completion of her first commercial website. She gained national and international recognition through her art sales, most notably her equine works, landscape, and wildlife. Having ranch experience while growing up in Montana and Wyoming, as well as experience with the US Forest Service as a young adult and experience on a 60 mile, 700 head horse drive in 2013 and 2014, Kay has enjoyed her love of painting landscapes, wildlife and horses - from polo sporting events, to wild horses, wildlife, western landscapes, and portraits. She is popular oil painting instructor in her Denver, CO studio.
