We booked this with one painting in the website only to find out that the painting changed by the time we went in. It was a super difficult painting and I felt like the teacher did not properly instruct us through it. I've been to PWAT - at least 5 times in a few different states. There's an order to how the class goes and you walk us through the steps. This teacher did none of that. She was all over the place that several of my party felt lost. read more

I took my son and nephew to painting with a twist for a family pumpkin painting session. The instructor was great and the kids really enjoyed their one hour session. They even got to see their final paintings under the black light after they were finished glass size was really reasonable, about 11 people the kids out of the instructor was helpful in answering their questions, and I would definitely recommend it for another session. read more

Horrible. We had a class schedule and our instructor was 45 minutes late and obviously drunk. She continued to drink during the entirety of our class. She showed up in her pajamas and slippers and her hair all over the place. Won't be recommending this place. At least not until this instructor is gone. read more

I booked a party for my daughter's 40th birthday there. I was very excited to give this party for her because 4 years before, at Painting with a twist in Belmar for my oldest daughter. So, we all gathered there to celebrate and paint and have a great time. Or so we thought. Our instructor came into the room never introducing herself and said this is what we are painting today. I picked the painting out a week before and it was very lovely. The painting our instructor demonstrated looked not at all like the painting I picked. Well to make this review shorter, I was very disappointed. It was not fun. The instructor showed a few strokes and left the room. She seemed to always have a scowl on her face. The kicker was that she went to the birthday girl and asked for payment for the 2 spaces that weren't filled. All in all, I do not recommend this business for a fun party Go to Painting with a Twist at Belmar if you want to have fun! read more

This is the second time this location has cancelled my class. On top of that, they waited until the end of the day to call me to let me know, so now I have to wait until sometime next week to get my refund. I tried calling the store number a few times and no one answered the phone. An employee DID call me back, but it was a separate number. The location in Lakewood off of Alaska is much better. read more

We had a blast! It was a small group, so that was nice. Our Artist was very attentive and had a great a sense of humor. She also penciled in the large details for us ahead of time. The music was super diverse and we all sang along . I'd definitely recommend this location. This was our first trip ever to anything like this and I'll definitely return. read more

The artist we were following did a great job of keeping A good pace, but making sure everyone was still on track and helped if necessary. She was fun and full of energy! The bartender was friendly. I would give this experience a 1. I had planned a night for 12 people to celebrate my daughter's bachelorette party. Several of our guests had never done a painting with a twist. I have done several at your location and several others. Thank you for accommodating our party. Brittney, our instructor, was one of the worst I have ever had. At the beginning of the night, she asked what type of music we wanted to listen to, we the bride said county, Brittney made a negative comment, then suggested EMoO or something that was more to her liking. Don't ask, if you're not going to play what we want. Most of her picture was finished before we came, so instead of her showing us, she read from a sheet. Her trees were terrible. Which probably explains why her painting was started beforehand. I have never seen an artist read instructions from a sheet the entire time. That is not giving a painting lesson. I paid $480 for 12 people. Then $90 for wine. I think the whole experience was disappointing and a wet blanket on a special night. I received an email saying if I loved the experience leave a google revirw, if not reply to the email. I tried to reply to the email, but it bounced back as an invalid email address. read more

Reasonably priced for the activity and a nice painting however the drinks were the same price as going to the bar. The artist was good, however he did not provide us with great guidance. If he was giving instruction it was hard to hear over the owner who talked on a microphone ALL night long. The music was loud but good, but mid point through the painting a disco ball was turned on and they decided to turn the lights off to Wobble and do to Cupid Shuffle..... If I wanted to go to the club, I would have spent my $50 (painting plus drinks) at Lodo nearby. It was a little rowdy for my taste and I was reminded of that several times by the owner who kept referring to our party as LAME for asking them to turn the disco off so we didn't get distracted..... read more

I channeled my inner Bob Ross & made some happy trees. This was my first painting experience & I thought it was very fun. The teacher gave us a lot of leeway with what we could do with our painting. We painted a birch tree with flowers and she let us add more or less trees, more or less rocks, different color flowers, different mountain areas. For me it was a bit overwhelming how many ways we could go with our painting because I'm not a painter so I just wanted to be told what to do. In the end though, it was super cool to see how different everyone's paintings came out. My picture came out nicer than anything I could paint if I painted by myself. This place has plenty of parking and they play up-beat top 40s music. The price was $35 which is a normal price for this type of event but I think you can find cheaper deals elsewhere on Groupon as well. I liked all the art on the walls at this place and how they had art cut outs that you could put your face in (like the Bob Ross one). read more

Came here when I was informed by friends that we would be painting the TARDIS in Van Gogh style. It was $35 for two hours of painting and all painting supplies included. Beverages cost extra, but they were reasonably priced. I was miffed that our group was not seated all together as that's what we reserved. It was a bit distracting to have other people on mics talking over the artist as he's trying to explain how to paint certain sections. We were also squeezed in like sardines which made it difficult to paint. Some elbow room would've been nice. WOW! What an amazing experience! My best friend brought me here for the first time and have been back since! I have not painted since grade school and led by the great instructor showed us the instructions to paint, well YES! I found out I am an artist as well! The faculty that was there, even though it was my first time, made me feel like family! Called me by name and made me feel very special, this is what I look for in a family fun environment! Yes, you have to pay $35 for a great experience, and if you feel like you want to top off your night with a glass of wine, just like the other "painting" places, you would have a very minimal charge.... I have done a few other painting and drinking nights at Canvas and Cocktails and Sipping and Painting. I was very excited when this one opened up closer to home. It is different from your usual drinks & painting place in that it is much more up beat and energetic. I LOVE that about this place. It gets you out of your comfort zone. Painting is a fun, expressive activity and I feel like they take the "stress" out of inartistic people like me trying to paint perfection. Instead of sending you to "shop" like others during drying times, they turn up the music & have dance contests, hula hoop contests, etc. for prizes while you let your painting dry for the next painting step. The owners are also incredibly giving to their community! They have graciously donated a cancer survivors painting class to the Relay for Life of Highlands Ranch & Lone Tree 2015. I cannot say enough good things about this place and Marianne & Joe. In the few months they've been open, I've been 3 times. I just can't help myself! Overall great experience! Everyone was so hospitable and the prices are similar to what you would find at any other local painting place. I have visited this location on several occasions and cannot wait to go back again soon. The owners were extremely accommodating and even offered and hosted a fundraiser for our Holiday Outreach Program. Every time I have visited this location I have taken different guests and thanks to the instructor they left feeling like professional artists when they had not painted since grade school. The staff has a great way of getting everyone to loosen up and that's not easy when you have accountants who are painting! The instructor did a great job of ensuring everyone was on track. He provided help to anyone who needed it. We chose a somewhat difficult painting, but the instructor walked us through each step. We were all amazed at what artists we became with his help!! We recently had our daughter's 10th birthday party at Painting with a Twist in Lone Tree, and I can't praise them enough . We moved back to Littleton after 10 years in Dallas, TX. Our daughter had two parties at Painting with a Twist in TX and we thought we were really happy with the parties. After celebrating her 10 birthday at the location in Lone Tree, we realized what we had been missing. The owners made certain that our daughter and her friends had the best party ever. The party was customized for tween girls. They played all of the girls' favorite songs, ordered pizzas for lunch and stopped occasionally so the girls could have a mini dance party. The owners and the instructor were so much fun. They made my daughter feel so special, and all of the girls at the party left wanting to have their birthday parties there as well.
