Scheduling sessions has always been easy, flexible, and consistent. They truly take the time to match students with the right tutor based on their individual needs, which reflects how professional and dedicated their team is. After taking about a year off, I noticed a slight decline in my son's study habits, which led us to enroll him again during his 8th grade year. Since returning, I have seen a tremendous improvement not only in his study habits, but also in his grades, confidence, and overall attitude toward learning. The support, structure, and encouragement provided by his tutors have made such a positive impact on his academic growth and motivation. His tutor this year, Theta, has especially helped build his confidence in math and strengthen his understanding of the material. As a result, he has received Honor Roll every quarter so far and felt much more confident taking the PSATs this year. I'm so grateful that we found Quick Stars Tutoring. Our son has genuinely enjoyed his experience and recognizes how much it has helped him academically over the years.

I tried printing out worksheets from websites online but it just didn't seem to work. His teacher suggested kumon. Kumon reading, but not kumon math. She doesn't recommend kumon math because kids tend to "memorize" the problems and just answer without thinking. So we opted for reading. It's $120 per subject. Sometimes they would have promotions, like free diagnostic testing for that month which i think is normally $50. Check their facebook page for updates. I have met with Ms. Lei and she is awesome. She is very hands on and very patient with the students. There also a lot of volunteers which help your child if they're having difficulties. When you sign up, they'll give you a small kumon bag where you place your worksheets in, and a pencil. And some reminders and tips on how to help your child excel. So this is what goes on in their classroom according to my 12 year old. You walk in and put your homework in a basket, and then grab the worksheets assigned to you for that day, when you're done, you let them check it, and then grab your homework for next time and put it in your bag. The whole session usually lasts 20-30 minutes. Depending on how your child quickly answers his worksheets and no corrections. Once you finish a level, they give you kumon dollars, and then you can "buy" a prize from their prize corner. This is my son's 4th month in kumon, he will be in 6th grade soon, so we'll see if there's any improvement.

A curious child, she enjoyed experimenting, learning and being around other children. However, as her learning disorders became more and more apparent, she started to suffer from the academic and social challenges that resulted from them, and often felt overwhelmed and helpless. She started to retract and become anxious. As we became cognizant of the lack of awareness regarding learning disorders in spite of their prevalence, we embarked on an incredible journey of self-discovery, acceptance, hard work, self-advocating and empowerment. For years, our daughter had regular sessions with an occupational therapist, orthoptic specialist, tutor, behavioral therapist, etc. and, although they provided support, the results yielded were slow to come and not conclusive. LearningRx' targeted, intensive, results-driven, and proven methods have helped our daughter in ways that we could have only imagined. After completing a ten-month program, her academic skills are near par with her peers. Her mindset has completely shifted, which has boosted her self-confidence, and she is now more carefree about school and life in general. We are confident that she will continue on this path, knowing that she has the power to change things thanks to all her efforts and the proper training. We are forever grateful to have been able to benefit from the programs and the incredible team of educators/coaches at LearningRx Honolulu! Thank you all so much, you're amazing!!! No child with a learning disability should have to suffer when solutions such as LearningRx exist. I do not know about you but my child gets rewarded for having a good week and getting 100% on his tests, but what kind of reward is it when it is not until the following week? There are simple ways to solve the schools short comings but it is if they truly want to; 1. Update and continuously update your website (i.e. calendar, teacher lists, events...) 2. Have an online classroom for parents to look at to make sure their child is doing the homework and has their daily/weekly progress reports (FOR ALL GRADES!). This would alleviate sooo much miscommunication between teacher and parents. (i.e. homework online used for online access to homework assignments, study materials and lesson notes and a parent portal that provides parents access to student attendance, progress reports, and report cards). Today our society is technologically savvy and so are the kids, why not keep up and in the process help the kids? Maybe if they did these updates there school might raise from a 6 on greatschool.com to maybe an 8 or 9.

With one day before her end of quarter exam, she finally asked me to find a tutor for her. I found Lance here on Yelp and he was able to fit her in for a last minute lesson. My daughter was being very timid on our way to meet him, and I could tell she was having a major confidence issue since school generally comes easy for her. We met Lance, and they got right to work as I sat at a nearby table to give them space, even though I'm pretty protective of my baby around strangers. After the hour was up, I saw the confidence back in my little girl's eyes again, and she was all smiles and compliments as we talked about how she liked Lance, and how the lesson went. She said she really likes him, and that he took the time to explain everything in detail. She also said he made the lesson really fun, and that it wasn't nearly as bad as she thought it was going to be. She was pretty stoked about the composition book he gave her with all of their notes and sample equations in it from her lesson. We will definitely be coming back, Lance really did a great job. I want to start off with how happy we are that our son attends HTA. It was a great choice and big win. We have older children who go to multiple schools and HTA by far has won us over. The atmosphere and the attention that our son received in school is by far the greatest. The one on one with the student and teacher ratio works out great our kindergartener has excelled in so many ways. He's about to move on to first grade and he already can read books and tell time not only digital time but the wall clock which I remember only learning in the 3rd grade back in the day. He is also able to identify the currency (worth of each coin and what each coin is called) We do noticed a BIG difference in our son's confidence level and not being afraid to speak up and present his animal research to his fellow classmates. The teachers and staff are all so supportive and they are always so kind. They know every child just about by name which is great because they can identify each child's presence which is valuable and also for safety reasons. They also address any concerns or issues right away with the child and parents/ guardians. HTA has great staff who is able to provide support to the children and parents/ guardians. We are thankful that we are able to join our son on his class Field Studies. It is a true blessing to be able to have this experience to be able to understand what our child is learning on a daily basis. They have weekly agendas which keeps us organized and on schedule. We hope you enjoyed our first year experience review with HTA. Having a kind and supportive team makes a GREAT difference! So be nice to the staff members they deserve the Best!!

Every teacher there felt like they were born to be a pre-school teacher! We feel incredibly grateful to have found Ewa Plains Enrichment in Ewa Beach for our son. From the very beginning, it felt personal. We were not just enrolling in a school but becoming part of a warm, loving community that felt like family. Miss Jessica and the entire team of teachers are everything you would hope for in a preschool. They are warm, kind, intelligent, and fully engaged with the children. Their sincerity and care were evident every single day. It was almost tangible how much they truly loved each child, including ours. The mission of Ewa Plains Enrichment feels centered in love. Every lesson, classroom moment, and interaction reflects that. Our son not only learned how to read here, but something lit up inside him. It was as if a light switched on, and now he reads his own bedtime stories with joy and confidence. This milestone was nurtured by the school's incredible literacy program and the encouragement of his teachers. The school's focus on literacy is truly outstanding. The dedication and joy the teachers bring to reading is something our family will never forget. We also deeply appreciated the school's commitment to Hawaiian culture. Field trips to the lo'i, the pumpkin patch, and the library helped connect learning to the land and the community. Through songs, stories, and hands-on experiences, the children developed a strong sense of place and respect. As a Buddhist family, we always felt completely welcomed and respected at this Christian school. The values of kindness, compassion, gratitude, and responsibility were shared in a loving and inclusive way that felt deeply aligned with our home life. Our son also had the opportunity to share his own heritage during Culture Week and to learn about the cultures of his classmates. Seeing his identity honored and celebrated was incredibly meaningful and helped him feel proud and connected. The school created beautiful memories throughout the year, from Christmas and Easter performances to a heartfelt Mother's Day celebration. Preschool graduation was one of the best graduation events I have ever attended. It was thoughtful, joyful, and full of love. You could see how much the staff cared about each and every child. During a year when our family needed to take extended international trips, the school was flexible, understanding, and supportive. They even prepared homework packets for our son to bring with him, so he could stay connected and continue learning while we traveled. That level of care and thoughtfulness meant so much to us. Ewa Plains Enrichment has been around for many years, and that experience shows in the most beautiful ways. The staff have worked with so many different types of children and family situations, and their understanding, flexibility, and wisdom come through in how they support each student. You can tell they have truly seen it all and are prepared to meet each child where they are, with love and confidence. Ewa Plains Enrichment consistently goes above and beyond what is expected. They are always thinking about the children and their future. This is not just a school. It is a place where children are truly seen, nurtured, and loved. We will be forever grateful to this school, which is a true gift to the community and island!
