What we were super happy about is that this cafe offers traditional diner/breakfast-y foods but they also offer Filipino breakfasts!! Matcha Latte 1.5/5 okay so,, there was negative matcha in this. However, it somehow ended up tasting like a chai latte?? Which I also like so while I did not mind it my rating is based on the lack of matcha Eggs your Way 4/5, solid egg breakfast, nothing super special but not bad and enjoyed the filling meal Filipino breakfast dish 5/5, ok so my friend forgot the name of this specific dish but, please note the photo below and show some staff if you would like to order. This was one of the best meals he had in all of NZ so yes, we absolutely recommend!!

Unfortunately it was raining so didn't get to truly walk around and explore, but it is a quaint place with plenty eateries. We decided on Stone Oven bakery and cafe since it looked like a lot of locals were dining. I am so glad we came to eat here! The service has been so good and friendly. Chatting with the employees made me feel very welcomed. We ordered Hoki Breakfast (their version of egg's Benedict on sweet potato rosti), Fish and Chips, and Jenny Craig (Rich whipped cream in a bun that was covered in cinnamon sugar). Hoki Breakfast's sweet potato rosti was very nice! A wonderful twist to the traditional Benedict. Fish and Chips was so delicious! Fish was crisp, and really tender inside. Jenny Craig, surprisingly not that sweet, but very satisfying to eat. Loved the service and the food!

We settled on Zaika, a Moroccan restaurant. We dropped in on a Saturday evening (around 7:30pm) to a packed house. The inside has a strange layout; they don't make full use of their space very well. Service is friendly enough but they were running around and seemed to forget about us. Pay at the counter when you're done. The menu is split into starters, Zaika bowls, Zaika wraps, pita pocket, Zaika salad, kid's meals and a royal platter. The platter ($49.90 NZD) sounded tasty and a good way to share. - Wedges ($5.00 NZD) - this was actually a good portion size. Decent seasoning and most of the wedges were crispy. The sauce/aioli was neutral but tasteless. - Grilled fish Zaika bowl ($17.50 NZD) - we decided to share a bowl and asked for half Arabic rice and half couscous. For the salads, we picked corn salsa, grilled vege and carrots & beet. Sauce was hummus but it was different than what we expected. They mixed it in with the rest of the ingredients. We also got our bowl medium spicy but it was only in the tiniest manner. Fish was perfectly grilled but it was soooooo salty. Sad because it ruined the flavours. Everything else was tasty and nutritious. Try the lamb instead (our second choice).

Very tasty, affordable food and friendly staff. Looked at their website and got the impression this…read morewas a very upscale (and probably expensive) place. It was not. Quite casual and quite comfortable. They have ample seating and I believe do a good bit of take-out business. Several beers on tap and a pretty good wine selection. Just passing through town, but if I lived here I'd be a regular!
