Not in my opinion...especially coming from SE Asian roots and having travelled in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. Majority of the dishes here seemed more of a fusion of different cultures rather than purely Indonesian. The flavours didn't quite hit the mark and spice levels were near non-existent. Seeing the fellow diners...I can see that the flavours must've been westernized. And for this style of more 'comfort/rustic' style dishes, the main dishes were quite expensive at ~$45+ each. Drinks were mild in flavour, but at least not too sweet! This was a fun try, especially if you're not one for spicy food. CASH & DEBIT ONLY. We tried the: -gado gado (Indonesian potato salad) -angus beef tandoori (with taro mash) -duck curry with crispy noodles -mango lassi -thai iced tea (more like condensed milk tea, barely had the Thai tea flavour) -specialty mojito

The restaurant is in an extremely old building where everything looks worn out and poorly maintained. The lighting is kept very dim, which honestly feels like it's there to hide how beaten-up the tables and chairs actually are. Instead of elegance, the whole place feels strange and uncomfortable. Even locating the entrance is confusing. Calling this fine dining is honestly quite embarrassing for the price they charge.

You can even cook some items yourself on hot plates, which adds more fun to the experience. They run different promotions every month. We ordered "Flaming Japanese Style Fried Chicken" from the appetizers menu. For main, we ordered "Angus Steak Set with Rice" and Super Deluxe Teppanyaki Rice". Everything was fresh and flavourful. We loved the sizzling plates when they were served. Also, October-born customers get a free chocolate or green tea lava cake with ice cream. The service is quick and friendly, and the space is clean and casual.

There are different locations throughout the GTA, serving the exact same menu and concept. Service is fast and efficient. You order on your phone by scanning the QR code on the table. Food comes out within ~5 minutes - very fast! The menu is quite extensive. They have a wide variety of teppanyaki rice sets available, as well as noodles, mini hot pot (including individual servings), and various drinks and Asian desserts. I love that you can customize each dish by adding the add-ons (additional ingredients). You can even "build your own teppanyaki set" by choosing the carbs, sauce, protein(s), and add-ons (including vegetables). We only tried the teppanyaki rice sets this time around. The Sizzling Japanese-Style Assorted Vegetables consisted of cabbage, green pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, and corn. This was listed under "snacks" category, and we thought it would be a good veggie dish accompaniment to the other main dishes. I found it to be very salty and saucy. It had an aftertaste that I didn't really like. The pieces of green pepper, zucchini, and mushrooms were very small, that you could barely taste them. It was mostly white cabbage shreds and corn. The 3 teppanyaki rice sets (including one deluxe set) were good. The Jumbo Unagi Teppanyaki Rice was one of my favourites - the unagi there was "jumbo" indeed (biggest and longest I had ever seen that was served with a rice set in a restaurant). I liked that it wasn't doused with too much unagi sauce wich tends to be sweet and sticky. There was a good amount of meat in the unagi as well. Salmon & Shrimps Teppanyaki Rice Set and Seafood Rice Set (salmon, scallops, shrimps) were also decent. The Seafood Rice Set (considered a deluxe menu item) had a bigger and better salmon compared to the thin salmon slices in the Salmon & Shrimps Teppanyaki Rice Set. The shrimps and scallops were pretty good (there were more shrimps than scallops). All dishes came with corn and green onion, and you can choose to add extra add-ons such as cabbage, green pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, garlic bits, extra protein, etc. As garlic lovers, we added extra garlic bits to every teppanyaki set that we ordered. Overall, good food and fast service. I wish the Sizzling Japanese-Style Assorted Vegetables dish wasn't so salty, and came with more / bigger pieces of the actual vegetables rather than just mostly corn. But the other teppanyaki rice sets were good value.
