    I've been coming to this location for years, always had such a great experience with the same guy…read moreat the counter. Looks like he no longer works there. I came in with a bunch of Amazon returns. Only one had to be processed at the counter, the rest I was able to complete at the self serve kiosk. The employee who helped me was so unfriendly. Not even a hello. But that doesn't really bother me, most young people in the customer service industry behave this way. The issue was, she walked away from the register in the middle of my transaction. Didn't say a word to me and just left me standing there. After about 5-7 minutes of me waiting, I asked the other employee if she knew where the other girl went or if she could help me. She just continued waiting on new customers while I stood there. The other employee eventually finished my transaction and I never saw the other girl. Service here has gone downhill, might be worth the drive to the Southington location.

They kept telling me to check and wait it should be printing. No you get away from the back room and come help me yourself. The pages finally printed and the ink is faded and they still charged me full price. 3 employers working very unprofessional. I heard swearing in the back where you can hear them loud and clear because they are loud. They were gossiping heavily and having customers who should be in and out waiting. There was a women who gave someone an item for free yet I had to pay over $8 for faded ink paperwork.... Where did the other man go who used to work here. This ups needs him back, he was playful but knew how to multitask and get his work done professionally. I'm annoyed and disappointed.

    Do not buy performance ski boots at Bob's Sports Chalet…read more I recently bought a pair of Salomon S/Pro Alpha 130 ski boots. After my purchase I brought the ski boots home and put in my footbeds only to find that the ski boots caused my legs to bow when I flexed them. I understand that each skier's anatomy is different and their experience in a particular ski boot will vary. However, Bob's does not carry an extensive line of performance ski boot alternatives and I asked for a refund. I received a refund but was charged a 10% fee. The ski boots were never used and were returned in 1 week after purchase. I was mindful of the salesperson's time when I tried on the ski boots in the store and I made a good faith effort to test the ski boots with my footbeds at home. Given the fee that I was charged, I do not believe that Bob's Sports Chalet gave me the same courtesy.

I contacted customer service and the same person, a man always answers the phone. I'm assuming it's the owner. He told me he would check on the order and get back to me. He never got back to me. Weeks went by and finally I contacted my credit card company and filed a dispute. I just happened to be at the post office picking up another package and when they went back to get it, when they came back out the postal worker said "oh do you know you have another package here for you?" The package from Bob's Sport Chalet had been sitting at the post office for weeks. The man in Customer Service never followed up on the package and it's whereabouts. I immediately contacted customer service at Bob's Sport Chalet and was treated extremely rude and yelled at by the same man that I spoke to in the beginning. (The Owner). Bob's Sports Chalet is owned and managed by Bill and Belinda Gonsalves of Bristol CT. The success of the business is by emphasizing the quality of service. I can't believe they have the nerve to put this in their ads in on their website. He very specifically said he would not give me a refund and they don't deal with people who file a dispute. He hung up the phone. I called back numerous times only to be hung up on again and be cursed out. He's a despicable man and a bully! I'm out almost $500, no fault of my own. The owner didn't care that the items were brand new packages and were sitting at the post office and it was not my fault that they were never delivered. I had every right to file a dispute. This is a horrible business and as you can see if you read the other yelp reviews, it's happened to many others. Please stay as far away from this company as possible, if you value your money and have any Integrity. This company doesn't care about their customers at all!

Mechanics tend to jack up prices and have a certain attitude, but the individuals at this location seem a bit nicer too instead of being mad at the world if you ask a question or two. I showed him a photo of the receipt and asked him to look up the purchase in the system since it was bought at this store, but he wouldn't even try. I also showed him that the part they sold me did not fit my car, but he just kept saying, "There's nothing we can do." There was no effort to fix the mistake, no exchange, and not even a store credit, even though the error was theirs. Because of this, I ended up losing nearly $300 and had to buy the correct part somewhere else. I've never experienced such poor customer service. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this store to anyone

    I was going to Turks and Caicos and really wanted to make the most of the clear blue water, so I…read moreknew I needed a good, quality snorkeling set. The resort provided free rentals, but because of Covid, I felt more comfortable just bringing my own. I traveled to the Galapagos islands in 2018, and had a terrible experience with the snorkel gear that I was using. I was having a very hard time having my nose plugged and it was causing me a panic, and therefore I did not enjoy the snorkeling experience. It turns out that now full face masks are now a thing - and New England Dive had plenty of good options! They were reasonably priced and the person assisting me took them out of their packaging so that I can really see how they worked. I left the store with a new snorkeling mask, confident that this experience was going to go much smoother - and it did! I'm so grateful that I found this mask. The store is huge, even though it looks kind of small from the outside, and their inventory is huge. I visited Cabela's and a couple of other sports stores, but none had this particular style of mask.
