They beat every other quote while offering a 12 year parts and labor warranty on our new system. I had the town inspector come in to check after and they were quick to come back and do every necessary adjustment and repair needed. Purchased a new AC unit from Harp last year. Before we signed the papers I told the salesperson, David that we had trouble with service in the past. He assured me that I would not have any issues. Called last week to get our tune up as we also signed for a service contract. Can't get anyone out until October. My AC will be done by then. Contacted the salesman as he suggested I do. He responded but was of no help. I called again today to get date for furnace tune up. Scheduled for November. Seems like this company is either going out of business or needs to hire more help. My suggestion do not listen to the salesperson. I was able to get in touch with dispatch today and they moved my appointment to May. Now why did the customer service person not offer the 4-8 appointment when I called the second time to see if they could move up my October appointment. I'm sure they will call to reschedule in May. I purchased a new furnace with Harp three years ago. I was getting service before the heating season in the fall. This year I got my service pushed to February. I was waiting for my service on the date of the cleaning and was advised to reschedule. When asked for rescheduling date, I was told it was end if heating season, need to reschedule for next year. This company is always bragging to set up for plumbing and heating appointments. Well looks like time to move on. Poor service and customer satisfaction. If I could give minus 5 stars I would. Awful company. They installed the wrong size air handler for our new air conditioner. Two units one for each floor. The upstairs has never worked right. After two yesrs and during the hittest days of summer it died. After four technician call outs they finalky figured out they installed the wrong size air handler so replaced with correct one. You think okay problem solved----if only. One of the technicians damaged the air conditioning unit. After six weeks of waiting they finally had a replacement unit. Great-technician on the way to install the unit, until... he wasn't. No call. Three hours goes by, we had to call them. Apparently, they ordered the wrong unit. We are still waiting for a response for the company. Emails to their CEO go unanswered. Still wait for a working AC. Buyers avoid this company at all costs. read more

There technicians are fantastic when they get out and do the work but there follow through, and communications is horrible. The staff have no respect for customers' time, no understanding that people have to take time off work or make arrangement to get the work done. Scheduled and confirmed an "emergency" AC repair appt. Cancelled my patients and tentative appts with other repair services to be available for the given time slot. Received a third text message 30 mins later asking that I confirm the scheduled appt, which I did. 15 mins later I received a voice call canceling the appt which had been confirmed 3 times. I understand the hot weather created many repair requests, but after confirmation and rearranging my schedule, their cancellation created considerable inconvenience, not to mention I lost my other repair slots. read more

Alex was our lifesaver today. We called in the morning, they fortunately had availability in the afternoon, and he fixed our heating/wiring issue after four hours. He worked tirelessly to help on a Friday afternoon and explained to us along the way. Price was reasonable. Love that they have an annual membership so that they come service and check up on your AC and heating systems twice a year. He also came prepared with shoe covers, so I didn't have to awkwardly ask for him to put any on. And he made recommendations that we can act on ourselves moving forward. I recently needed a new handcap toilet installed, on the initial visit I met with Jesse and Wyatt who reviewed the items that I needed and answered all my questions re: the work that could be done, as I also had two other toilets that were constantly filling and causing my water bill to rise to a very high level. They were both very informative and professional. Jesse returned and installed the toilet, he was very neat and I asked if I could clean up under the old toilet after it was removed, he said he already did it, and all the work was completed in a timely manner, he was very considerate of my needs and answered all my questions in an understanding fashion. I will not hesitate to hire Harp in the future when I need any plumbing and heating needs as well as any required work to my air conditioner, which Harp installed a few years ago. Avoid, avoid, avoid. These guys are scammers. We have two central A/C systems in our home. When one stopped working during a brutal stretch of 95+ degree weather, we called Harp for help. The technician ran a few basic tests and told me the condenser had "seized." He quoted me $8,000 to repair it, but said fixing a 21-year-old system would be "irresponsible." Instead, he strongly pushed for a full replacement -- quoting $14,000 to $21,000 for just one unit, and recommending I replace both, bringing the potential total to $28,000 to $42,000. I was stunned. In a single hour-long visit, I went from a hot upstairs to wondering how I'd come up with $15,000-$40,000 -- all while sweating through a heatwave. The service call quickly shifted from diagnostics to a high-pressure sales pitch. To make things worse, the tech gave misleading information to justify the recommendation. For example, he pointed to a small copper line being warm and claimed that "confirmed" the failure -- something I've since learned is irrelevant on its own. No attempt was made to try basic, common-sense fixes. The goal was clearly a sale. After he left, I did a little research, spent $30 on a capacitor, and swapped it myself. The system came back to life instantly and has been running fine ever since. No seizing. No catastrophe. Just a routine capacitor failure -- one of the most common A/C issues there is. I get that older systems eventually need replacing -- but this wasn't an honest consultation. It felt like Harp was leveraging my discomfort and urgency to push a wildly expensive and unnecessary replacement. If Harp tells you your system is shot, don't get a second opinion -- just don't call them at all. In my case, the "solution" they sold would've cost more than a new car. What it actually needed? I used to be a customer for over 30 years. Solve-it changed to HARP. Over the last few years, my appointments are constantly cancelled because of other "emergencies". While I certainly understand this happens occasionally - how about taking care of the loyal customers? But when I spent $18,000 on a new furnace and a/c unit, they showed up right on time. I DO have a yearly contract with them. Apparently my small jobs and small $$$ don't rate for much. I signed up with a new "smaller" business today from a friend referral. I am disgusted with this company! I scheduled a service cleaning for my mini splits more than a month in advance. They canceled on me at last minute because they were busy. The customer service is deplorable they told me that because I schedule my service online it is a low priority and they have to cancel my request. I actually was talking to them on Friday about my upcoming appointment scheduled for next Monday and they confirmed it. On Sunday just two days later they notified me about the cancellation. Offred me he replacement appointment in August which would be in 4 month. They pulled the same trick with my winter appointment. Moving it to February from November, so it is a quite common practice for this company. Stay way from that company!!! read more

The absolute worst. Beware of this scam. This company recommended I install a wall mounted combo heater/furnace, and has since refused to service it. I schedule appointments 1-2 years in advance and am cancelled on every single time. Due to HARPs refusal to service the unit they installed, I was on the hook for $4000 for weather related damages, being told the warrantee was voided due to lack of service. HARP will not come to service the unit, only comes to "fix" the unit and take your money. When I call to change appointment I am cold transferred multiple times and left on hold forever. I've never felt so used and disgusted by a company, HARP should be ashamed of themselves. It feels like a scam to get you to install a furnace, only for it to never be serviced, and then they come to extort you once it breaks. read more

What you don't expect is for the company to make the appointment, state they are sending someone, make you wait for 3 hours, and then tell you they can't help when you call to inquire about where the plumber is. I finally referenced the Mitsubishi installation manuals and found that they made many mistakes. I called Mitsubishi and they said that Harp is not one of their "diamond" installers, so Mitsubishi will not stand behind their installation. Do not engage this Company for your HVAC requirements. Our January 2025 Heat pump purchase/install was seriously lacking in coordinating the options for a suitable heat pump with Rebates offered by State of Ct and Federal programs. NO effort on the part of the HARP Sales staff to seek a Heat pump for our Suffield home that was compatible with CT Energize and IRS qualifications for substantial rebates. The Sales staff also never proposed a CCHP (Cold Climate Heat Pump) as suitable for the cold climate in CT. A CCHP was recently approved for sale by Lennox and 3 additional heat pump manufacturers. Harp Home Solutions is not motivated by offering customers the best and latest products for heating and A/C solutions. Harp has not responded to my emails or phone messages that requested information on the install or the lack of any assistance in securing Rebates. Once again updating my previous reviews. "Charlie" responded to both of my ratings, indicating that HARP prides itself on great customer service. His most recent posting was either Sunday night or Monday morning. Thus far, there has been no followup from the Customer Relations Mgr (other than when she called during lunch over a week ago, and was unavailable when I called back an hour-and-a- half later. So either "Charlie" was just giving lip service, or there is a disconnect from him to his staff. To reiterate, I was a long-time customer who had an appt last week for an A/C tune-up. HARP cancelled it partly due to "an unscheduled absence". Then told me the next available appt was in the last week of Sept. And they advertise in the regional newspaper that they were scheduling A/C tuneups for $49 "now". This is certainly not my definition of "great customer service". Do yourself a favor. This is THE WORST company that I have ever dealt with! I've had to report them to the BBB several times since I replaced my HVAC system in 2022. The first issue was with the filter slot. The installers didn't make it wide enough for the filter, forced one in, and when I had to change the filter it wouldn't come out. Placed a call to the company SEVERAL times to have the issue addressed but each time they cancelled at the last minute. Once I contacted the BBB, someone was sent to fix the problem their installers created. Every appointment I have made for routine maintenance also gets cancelled at the last minute, on the day of the appointment. I have found a reputable company to obtain maintenance on my HVAC. I am writing this review as a cautionary warning about this company. The are all liars from management to customer service. And don't even try to get a supervisor or manager in the phone because it's a waste of time. None are ever available. Their commercials are false advertising. So my suggestion is to check out the complaints on the BBB website. I know that you will see several of mine posted, most recently in August. Started off fine, they installed my new AC quickly but then the problems started. When they quoted me I was told to be up to code I needed a light and plug installed in my attic , they would have to charge extra for that . Ok that's fine but when they installed the AC that crew couldn't do the electrical , they needed to send an electrician, again that's fine too but a week went by and no follow up to get that installed. I finally call them to schedule the electrician and he came out. At that point I figured ok we're good now? Nope, while doing the electrical they break my attic ladder. ‍. "I'll make a note of that and they'll reach out to you to get it fixed " . Nope . They are now just ghosting me. I've called twice and I'm told no managers are available and that they'll reach out but nope, it's just crickets. Overall I can't recommend HARP, they are no longer a family owned business, it's been swallowed up by a larger company and the service is just unacceptable, especially at the price point they are charging. Harp negligently and wrongly performed installation of a Bosch Combi unit (boiler for domestic hot water and baseboard heat) which made the unit call for heat and run continuously for ~4 years. When I purchased the home in September 2023 I noticed issues and took many visits and techs to to finally figure it out in April/May of 2024 which was faulty wiring causing the unit to operate incorrectly. The unit developed multiple issues because of it and was leaking from the time I bought the house (prior owner was elderly woman who didn't notice) and additionally damaged wall/carpeting/etc. After months of re-engaging Harp they are refusing to address issue and asking me to replace the unit on my $ saying "sorry we don't honor our installation warranty". This is negligent and fraudulent in my book and the worst position an HVAC contractor could take. Other courses of action are being taken with complaints on their license, potential court as well as news consumer outlet but absolutely do not want anyone fooled by them or their service. They have had very high turnover in the tech staff and managers based on their operations which only makes it worse ( the best techs leave or are left with suboptimal methods to keep customers happy and treat them fairly) happy to discuss with anyone as they shouldn't go through this same type of event. read more

We were looking to get the unit serviced before the summer and were informed days before the service was scheduled that they don't make appointments on Saturday and they'd have to re-schedule. Unfortunately they were booked out for six months. Fast forward six months and our appointment was just cancelled again 2 days before the appointment and they are now scheduling out 10 months from now. To keep our unit running correctly we scheduled a service cleaning over the summer. They canceled on us last minute without notifying us in advance because they were busy. With the weather being so hot we were very understanding. They then booked our appointment for tomorrow in November 5 months later! Well, here we are the night before and I had to call the company to confirm they were still coming and was told the appointment has been canceled and they don't do cleaning services in November! We never canceled our first appointment. This is not on us. They should honor their appointments! I would never recommend this company to anyone moving forward.
