Do not buy performance ski boots at Bob's Sports Chalet. I recently bought a pair of Salomon S/Pro Alpha 130 ski boots. After my purchase I brought the ski boots home and put in my footbeds only to find that the ski boots caused my legs to bow when I flexed them. I understand that each skier's anatomy is different and their experience in a particular ski boot will vary. However, Bob's does not carry an extensive line of performance ski boot alternatives and I asked for a refund. I received a refund but was charged a 10% fee. The ski boots were never used and were returned in 1 week after purchase. I was mindful of the salesperson's time when I tried on the ski boots in the store and I made a good faith effort to test the ski boots with my footbeds at home. Given the fee that I was charged, I do not believe that Bob's Sports Chalet gave me the same courtesy. read more

Bob's Sport Chalet, STAY AWAY, don't do business with this creepy owner. I ordered two very expensive items and they never arrived. I contacted customer service and the same person, a man always answers the phone. I'm assuming it's the owner. He told me he would check on the order and get back to me. He never got back to me. Weeks went by and finally I contacted my credit card company and filed a dispute. I just happened to be at the post office picking up another package and when they went back to get it, when they came back out the postal worker said "oh do you know you have another package here for you?" The package from Bob's Sport Chalet had been sitting at the post office for weeks. The man in Customer Service never followed up on the package and it's whereabouts. I immediately contacted customer service at Bob's Sport Chalet and was treated extremely rude and yelled at by the same man that I spoke to in the beginning. (The Owner). Bob's Sports Chalet is owned and managed by Bill and Belinda Gonsalves of Bristol CT. The success of the business is by emphasizing the quality of service. I can't believe they have the nerve to put this in their ads in on their website. He very specifically said he would not give me a refund and they don't deal with people who file a dispute. He hung up the phone. I called back numerous times only to be hung up on again and be cursed out. He's a despicable man and a bully! I'm out almost $500, no fault of my own. The owner didn't care that the items were brand new packages and were sitting at the post office and it was not my fault that they were never delivered. I had every right to file a dispute. This is a horrible business and as you can see if you read the other yelp reviews, it's happened to many others. Read the reviews and avoid this business. I purchased a North Face jacket for a ski trip and paid $27 for two-day shipping. The jacket was not delivered in the two-day time frame and, therefore, I wasn't able to bring it on my ski trip. Bob's Chalet will not refund me the shipping costs because UPS's delays are "not their problem." I called and the customer service rep hangs up on me each time. Straight up hangs up. Bob's had lots of inventory to choose from which is very nice. We were greeted promptly and helped out in choosing various needs. We were very satisfied. The only negative was when we returned home we did some price comparisons and found out they were about 15% higher than the manufacturer suggested list price offering. read more

BUYER BEWARE-- FRADLULENT COMPANY! Ordered a brand new Patagonia vest, which arrived damaged. It had a hole in the front of the vest; I saw it as soon as I opened the package. The quill from a feather had poked through, causing damage. It was obvious. I immediately contacted Bob's about the issue and sent pictures. Bobs sent a return label. They only returned half of my $226.00, stating I caused the damage when I opened the package! Lies. After five follow-up emails about this, they NEVER responded to one email. Read other reviews before and after you read mine. I wish I had done my research. This will be my last time in this store! They have a policy that if you take the tags off, you can't return them. I bought gloves for my son, took the tags off so that he can try them on and didn't fit right. They tell me at the front that it's a policy, pointed it out and went on to say, "yeah sorry, it's like that everywhere..." ummm no it's not. Suburban Ski and Bike in Berlin, CT are amazing. I wish I went there but I don't live near that shop otherwise I would have. I called this shop and spoke to someone on the phone and asked them, "Hey, I bought gloves there, I took the tags off so that my son can try them on but they don't fit right, CAN I RETURN THEM?" ...."oh sure, just bring all the tags back, we'll give you your money back or you can grab another pair." ... apparently not "every where". I feel like THIS SHOP is the only one that does this. So sad and very upsetting. Tip: read their policy at the front desk before you leave. Embarrassingly, I'm an Amazon fan. But lately I've been feeling badly that I'm not making a big enough effort to support small business in this country. So I order a ski bag from Bob's because the had the right color at the right price, but I knew it might not ship asap, which I knew when I ordered. After a few days without receiving a shipping confirmation, I picked up the phone and talked to perhaps, "Bob" himself. He apologized for slow shipping and said he'll get out today. (It was at 3 pm.) In the future I will definitely be more patient about posting pre-opinionated comment. Bob's sports Chalet stood by their products that they sold and took care of my issue. I see why it gets 2.5 stars from reading other posts. I bought a pair of Timberlands at a sale price. Once I got the boots I SEE WHY IT WAS AT A SALE PRICE. I'M SURE IT WAS A RETURN. There was already a noticeable discoloration on the left boot. But i figured since I'm using these for work no biggie. BUT, after 2 DAYS of wearing the boots part of the rubber tore on the inside near the arch of the shoe. This is crazy I received the boots and a week later I'm sending it back because of a boot malfunction?? There still brand new!! I contacted BSC....They didn't care about the story or pics just they just informed me that they sent a return slip in the email and i would be charged for that and would only get 1/2 a refund. out of 117$ I'll get a 46.00 refunded. I've DEFINITELY learned a valuable lesson. NEVER buy from a company that has only 1 store you may end up getting ripped off because they can't compete with major stores. I ordered an item that was never delivered. Upon inquiry, I was asked if I had purchased "insurance" on my package? I online shop on a regular basis and have never been asked to purchase insurance before, especially on a $120 item. I did not purchase it as I didn't read the fine print on the final checkout page. Bottom line - the sales associate said "YOU DIDN'T BUY SHIPPING INSURANCE?" No, I didn't nor have I ever? Most stores stand behind their distribution system and assume items will make it to their destination; they do not expect the customer to add to their purchase price by buying INSURANCE. Horrible Customer Service--Wrong Item Shipped--Blamed The Customer--Not My Error Don't know what to say. Placed on online order. Took days for even a reply from Bob's. Followed up and said they will process in a few days. Finally, processed and shipped. Product arrived and it was NOT what I ordered. I know the item well because it was a boot bag that I already own in a different color. What was shipped is a much smaller boot bag (a different model than advertised on the website). I reached out and informed Bob's and emailed a picture of the incorrect item still with the tag on it. They replied to please send a close up picture of the bar code on the tag (which I did). Ok...so...I wanted a specific color and size of Timberland boots. Even Timberland's website was out of stock. After mining the internet, I saw that Bob's Sports Chalet had them, but I had never heard of them before. So, I took the leap and ordered them. After a couple of days I received the email that they shipped and a few days after that they were delivered to my house in Ohio. To be honest, I expected it to be longer due to the delays world-wide. Back to my boots, they are EXACTLY what I ordered and I COULD NOT be happier. Make sure that you tell Bob that I am one satisfied and happy customer! I ordered a North Face Fleece from them on 15Jan2023. I received it 4 days (19Jan2023) after the order and it was far too large, so I immediately placed it back in the original packaging and initiated a return via their website. I printed the return label they provided and brought it to the USPS on 21Jan2023. According to the tracking information, it was delivered to their returns site on 24Jan2023 at 909am. I emailed them on 13Feb2023 because I still hadn't received my refund or heard anything about it. They responded on 14Feb2023 saying they never received it and there was no record of return in the system, even though I initiated the whole thing directly through their site. I sent proof of shipment/delivery via tracking info and never heard back. Sent another email a few days later and still nothing. I am disputing the charge with my credit card company.
