For a number of reasons we wanted to rent instruments rather than traveling with them. No one responded to the request for contact I sent through the website. I called 21 times (no exaggeration) from Sept 7 - Dec 13 at different times of day when they were supposedly open according to their website. All my calls and visits were during open hours. I wanted to rent an acoustic guitar while visiting family in Hanover in mid-December. There was never an option to leave a message. They answered only twice. The first answer was in late October and an employee said I could come in when I got to town and choose a rental from their supply. A day later we decided to rent a fiddle too. Four more calls later the next week, they finally answered and an employee said yes we could rent a fiddle too. I was a bit leery due to the difficulty of contacting them but decided to plan on the rentals. We got into Hanover, called the store from our Air BnB and got no answer. The next day we went to the store. The door was locked and no one answered our knocks. Their sidewalk sandwich board was folded up and leaning against the wall. We thought maybe they went to lunch. We went back a couple of more times that afternoon and nothing had changed. We also tried calling (four more times) but got no answer. The story ends with no instruments for us and no performance for our family reunion. Big thumbs down and not recommended

I know a lot of the staff and have bought a few guitars in here. They have some nice used amps and guitars you don't have to pay top dollar for or get ripped off. The prices vary, but generally very affordable. There new location is epic. In the back where all the acoustics are it gives the felling like your in a barn, but very nicely put together. If your in the market for an acoustic, electric, amp, or drums check it out!

I've taken him several instruments--an HD-28 with a crack in the side--I'd banged it accidentally. Also a 1936 Martin 000-18, which needed a reset, action-wise. His work was first-rate, and his prices very reasonable. But the job I was happiest about was the Fender Jazz bass I'd bought 8 years before , at a Guitar Center in NYC. The neck had warped--badly. I asked him to repair it, but he said: "You know... I think this might still be under warranty. Let me call them." He did, and although it took Fender a long time (it was during COVID), when I got the bass back it had a brand new neck. The action was perfect as well. He'd adjusted it, and didn't charge me a penny. A similar thing happened with my travel guitar. It was one of Taylor's amazing GSM Mini's. (You cannot beat them for the money.) Over the years, I took it a lot of places, and unfortunately, the bridge began to lift off. I took it to Owen: same deal: he called Taylor and they repaired it for free.

I've also had the privilege of having one of them restrung for playing slide by Eric Hodgson who is an amazing luthier. Every time I go I am always impressed by their patience in dealing with complete nubes like me, and I can honestly say that they are the #1 reason I've re-discovered a passion for music I can't speak to anyone else's experience, but I'll never go anywhere else.
