My husband and I stopped here during a trip. Decided to change our baby's diaper before pumping gas. Someone walked out and told us to pull into a parking spot if we weren't going to pay for gas. Mind you, there was NO ONE around pumping gas or even waiting to pump gas. We said yes we were going to get gas and he said "well you haven't paid yet". AS IM CHANGING MY CHILD. Usually very noisy from drug dealing activity in the parking lot 24/7. We stayed at the Inn across the street on 2-17-23, Friday night and it was first night I've ever been there when it was quiet at the Shell station and General Store all night long. Must be because the store is shutdown. I hope the drug operation has stopped, too or, at least, moved on to somewhere else. Absolutely the worst bathroom in the grand state of Oregon. The door doesn't close, let alone lock. Negative stars if I could.

I have stopped here on all my trips up and down I-5 for at least 35 years. I knew it as a place where I could buy a fresh sandwich. Last week I stopped by and the only thing left were cheeseburgers. Assuming they were fresh and the same high quality as the sandwiches I have bought there before, I bought one, heated it up in the microwave and went on my way. The guy running the place was unfriendly and kind of creepy. New owner? The cheeseburger was atrocious! Absolutely the worst one I have ever eaten. Yes, it was foolish of me to eat the whole thing, but I was hungry and had been on the road 6 hours. I think the cheese was Velveta spread, and the meat was some kind of blend of low-grade ground meat and fillers. The bun was mushy. I read the label and the thing (not a burger) was made in Chicago. Who knows how old it was. It gave me a mild headache. The closest I have come to getting food poisoning in a long time. I will be more cautious in future. Whoever is running this store now is playing a dangerous game. Very irresponsible of them to sell horrible food like I ate. This store used to be busy. The present owner should ask himself or herself why no one stops there any more. Maybe operating a general store is not something they should be doing. read more

This general store has all the stuff you'd expect - typical gas station snacks and frozen stuff you can microwave. My review of 1 star indicates the pricing a or lack thereof. Some Stuff had a price, but if no sticker, it seemed the cashier made it up as he went. Just put in "foodstamp" with a random Price. He tried to charge me $3.99 for a "protein pack"...you know the lunch meat, cheese and nut thing? It was ridiculous. Go over to the 76 instead. Sean is super nice there! read more

My husband and I stopped for gas and a bathroom break. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. But even worse was the gas fill up. Even though the pumps had credit card readers, the attendant told my husband he had to go inside to pay. He had to wait for a bit before paying, and when it was finally his turn, the inside attendant did not acknowledge him and actually walked away and went into the back. He came out a few minutes later and still didn't acknowledge him. My husband told the guy that he was told to come in and pay and the guy still didn't didn't say a word but pointed at a card reader. The reader didn't issue a receipt and when my husband asked for one, the guy gave him one but acted annoyed. While he was still inside and I was waiting in the car, I heard a gushing of what I thought was water from a hose, but then the attendant came and tapped on my window. He told me there was something wrong with our gas tank. Obviously in this remote area I was quite concerned that there was a serious problem with our car, but it turned out that he just let the gas overflow. There were about 2 gallons of gas under the car. THAT was the gushing that I had heard. Apparently the shut off mechanism on the pump didn't work. He didn't put sand or anything on the ground, just followed us when we pulled the car over to the side to see what was going on and insisted that it was our car, and not their equipment. We went to a station further down the road where we asked about it and they verified what we assumed, which was that there's nothing wrong with our tank. We will be contacting Shell to make an official complaint, as well as Oregon Weights and Measures. And obviously keeping a close eye on any fraudulent credit card activity. read more

This is the worst place to get gas, get a snack or go to for anything. There are a bunch of homeless people who hang out most of the day or come and go from around the perimeter. The owners act like they could careless if these people fight, loiter or do drug deals in there parking lot. These people have no sense of heritage or historical pride. I feel sorry for the true blue locals that live in Wolf Creek for putting up with these people. When we went in to check out the place there were fly's everywhere and the guy behind the counter was blaring music from India so loud, not caring if the patrons could talk or here over it. If I ever come to the area again, which may be a long time from now i will give my business to the 76 down the street. Pray for the locals who love their community. read more

I joked with the husband that this was the perfect set up for a horror movie as it gave me the heebie jeebies. I only give them another star because they were so friendly. This store has had many owners. William Smith was first, and opened in 1888. This was on a stage coach route then. I am the last living member of my family. My parents owned the store and Gas Station from Nov. 1983 till March 1, 1990. So I can attest, the store is older than 1992. We had a Deli inside the store called Deli for The Belly. My sister Donna ran that. Sandwich Sub roll, 3 meats, 2 cheeses for $5.99. Very popular with the truckers. My dad Fred, CLEANNED THE REST ROOMS every day several times a day. In the 60's, the town became a haven for hippies from the bay area, and the drug problems they brought with them. Then the ex cons came with them, and the town became a mecca for all the troubled souls from jails. This was a intimidating place for a long time before we were here. We did pretty good there. On site family owners did better than others. The Hoppers were there 20 years, the Garner's were there 20 years. From the 40's through the 60's this was a different town. I have advice for the current "Renter's" if they like. We owned the business. Mom and Pop and the Kids. I would not give anything to the current owners. Listing a Mom and Pop on Dunn and Bradstreet seems a bit much. read more
