I realized there was a door leading inside. The young woman who took my order wasn't the warmest and seemed a bit impatient with me. Service didn't take terribly long. My burger was good, but I'll ask about mustard for near time. Fries were hit and delicious. I was tempted to try a milkshake, but skipped it. My son says their shakes are amazing. Breakfast was good. We got an English muffin sandwich with bacon, a croissant sandwich with sausage, and pancakes. The pancakes were huge! There were two girls working. They were very friendly. Came here on a Sunday, and had an awful experience. After an awkward wait outside and looks back and forth because they had a sign on their door, they finally took our order. They then proceeded to forget the cheese on a cheeseburger, and the banana in a banana chocolate milkshake. They overall just seem to have young staff that have no idea how to be nice to customers nor do an accurate job. I visit Oregon almost every year for a camping trip about 15 miles away from Shady Cove. It's a yearly tradition to stop by Phils and grab a bite, because it's usually it's pretty good. We came in to get food, spent 35 minutes and over 60 dollars on 2 meals, 2 shakes and a side of onion rings. The food was ok. I can definitely go somewhere cheaper and better back home, but it's ok for the nearest food place near a campsite in Butt-Fuck Oregon. It's also stuff that could take like 15 minutes to make at home When we came in, there were 4 girls working at the main counter. 3 of which were doing a good job, but one of them had absolutely no customer service whatsoever. She ignored me and my girlfriend for about 5 minutes while she sat on her phone. Some pros and some cons to this place. Biggest pro is price. This place is CHEAP. only a few dollars for basically anything on the menu. We ordered a couple burgers, cheese fries, tater tots, and ice cream. The burgers are tiny so I understand the price. Very comparable to a McDonald's or other fast food burger. You have to pay extra for tomatoes which is kind of weird. On top of that I paid extra for avocado and there was hardly any on there. So little that at first I thought they had forgotten... I ordered the 1/2 plate of cheese fries and it was HUGE so I cannot imagine what a full plate is like. They were awesome though, especially with the fry sauce. Before the lockdown, on a visit to family in the San Francisco Bay Area, there was sufficient time in June 2017 to fulfil a lifelong quest to see Crater Lake. Unable to persuade other family members to join, I ventured as a solo act and travelled by car via Klamath Falls. For the return journey after a successful visit, I decided to take Highway 62 back toward Medford on what still holds as the longest downhill span of motorway I've ever encountered. After perhaps 40 miles of coasting, watching the dusk quickly come, and getting quite famished, I saw the lights of Shady Cove ahead and glanced to the right to see a very bright, welcoming pink burger joint that looked like something out of the 1950s. Upon closer inspection, it was a vintage diner with a rustic rural down-home setting that reminded me of a much better version of Foster's Freeze. Having felt hungry and unwell before, Phil's Frosty was a perfect oasis with a menu to die for. I was spellbound enough by the burgers. However, the choice of milkshakes and ice cream flavours was enough to make your head spin. I was a kid in a candy store - almost quite literally - gorging down a double burger, a black cherry milkshake and a sundae. In recollecting this lovely trip with family, the image of Phil's Frosty in hot pink came back into my head, hence the tardiness of this review. As a supporter of small business and with the fondness I recalled of this visit, this was a venue whose recognition I wanted to give kudos to. Phil's Frosty gets a hearty transatlantic endorsement and hopefully another visit if I can drag others along on a second visit to Crater Lake. read more

I think it's pretty sad that us local people can't call in orders anymore when it's busy, and then have to wait 35 min when we go in. I asked what the reason for the phone being off on Wednesday morning when I was trying to place an order before I took my daughter to school. In my opinion whether it's busy or not the phones should never be shut off. What if an elderly person was trying to call in an order because they were unable to be out for long periods at a time? I love stopping here when I have a craving for some yummy comfort food, but today was the day I swore I would never return!! My husband and I stood in line for 10 minutes while the girl up front was chatting with her boyfriend I'm assuming. She didn't notice the huge line behind him. (HE DIDNT EVEN ORDER ANYTHING) he was just a body in the way. When I finally got to order I had ordered a milkshake for my husband, I payed with a 10 and the girl at the register had run out of ones and fives. The girl at the register asked if it was okay with my change being in quarters and dimes and I said "no thank you, I would rather wait til you got big bills". The young lady that was helping me rolled her eyes and turned to her boyfriend and continued chatting while everyone else behind her was working hard! I got my change after 5 minutes of waiting..... 15 minutes rolls by and someone comes out and says their machine is broken so we couldn't get the milkshake. IM SO IRRITATED. It's like they hired a group of snotty girls from the same high school and stuck them in the same building to help people. It doesn't work.
