This is one of the few packies (New England term slang for Package Store) in the area of Exeter/West Kingston. They have a pretty good selection of beer, although it tends to the more mainstream. You can on occasion find some decent offerings, but it's hit-or-miss, as it seems like they have something on hand for a brief time and then move on to some other item. The wine selection is fair at best. This isn't really their bread and butter, to be fair. Surprisingly though, they have a pretty good variety of single-malt Scotch and also some nice selections of bourbon. It's good in a pinch, or if you aren't looking for anything special. Took 10 minutes to inspect my actual real ID and demanded a second form of identification before denying to sell to me just because I look young. They were super rude throughout the whole thing for no reason. Avoid at all costs hope they go out of business yesterday. read more

If you look younger than 30 they will try thier hardest to take your id from you. The staff was very rude and unfriendly. They were staring me down seconds after I walked into the store. When I was at the counter the whole staff was there one behind me and 3 at the counter, as if they were trying to intimidate me. Giving one star is generous. Came in to buy a case of high noons and a bottle of wine. They said my Massachusetts ID was not enough because I was out of state they needed more. Granted I am 21 but then I proceed to dump out my whole wallet, credit cards debit cards insurance cards everything with my name on it, apparently that was not enough. Fortunately I had my old ID in the car but both the girl and guy were rude and just kept laughing and saying no at everything I was pulling out. Also my first time coming here I was quizzed on every part of my ID and then had to sign this book thing saying I wasn't selling to minors. Figured I would go back after my first terrible experience there but after the second trip I will never give this place business ever again read more

Horrible service. Like many other reviews say if you get "ID'd" by the college age girl with Greasy hair you better be ready to be questioned. She said my mass ID was fake and when her manager confirmed it was real she said she had the right to refuse to "serve me" . She claims she went to school to learn how to tell fake ID's ... well guess she wasn't playing attention at school. For such a small liquor store they have a huge selection of wine, beer and liquor. Everyone behind the counter is helpful when managing to look for something. They carry a lot of sons of liberty products including their own wolfrock sons of liberty whiskey. Prices are average for the area and not overpriced. The only thing I would change is the parking lot, I liked the old setup comparably to what it is now. read more

My friends and I are OVER 21, but because one of us did not have a second form of ID, we were not able to make a purchase. Every time I've gone in there, they've taken 20 minutes to check my age and sign a form confirming my age. I'm well over 21. Just not a good experience ever. I understand that it's better to be safe for them, but this never happens anywhere else. read more

I've always gone to this liquor store for whatever I've needed. Never had I ever been asked to provide ID for someone I was on the phone w. I am 22 my buddy is 21 and didn't have the cash so he sent me in. This girl not only refused to serve me but refused to serve my friend after I sent him in w his ID. not to mention this girl is like 18-19. But "she knows what she's doing" plus apparently we were being "rude" and were kicked out when complying w her rules. Like how dare you deny me service because you don't believe me then when I go to prove to you me and my friend are of age. You kick us out because we're being rude? You're being rude by denying a customer who has gone there for long enough service just because you "think" you know something. Wolf Rock has one of the best selections of rum in the state. The owners/ managers are always personable and well-informed on their liquor selection. It is the best liquor store in the West Kingston / South County area. read more
