Been using Dr Adams for years. Made appt and was contacted a couple days later to say "oops Dr Adams can no longer be your Dr because we don't take Medicare anymore". WOW! way to notify your patients that they need to be looking for a new provider while telling you, sorry we have no interest in caring for anyone over 65. I am beyond words at how angry and disgusted with how they treat someone they have been seeing for over 10 years. I even offered to self pay for my annual and was told no- what????? Well you can barely ever get in touch with the front desk because they could legitimately care less about helping you set up an appointment which is really frustrating because I paid for an iud 3 months ago and never heard if it came in or whether or not they are ready for me to make an appointment. they seem really judgmental and mean and it just isnt a really safe and positive environment. the doctors are actually really sweet and nice its all the nurses and frontdesk workers that ruin the vibe and make you feel like shit for even showing up. this place legitmately made me go out and find another doctor in a whole different town. definitely do not recommend read more

A year ago (November 14), I had an ultrasound to meet my baby. While we were waiting to talk to a doctor (my OB was out of town for the day), they casually texted me an ultrasound report letting me know my baby was dead. I scream cried in a room with my husband for 10-15 minutes before a doctor came in. There's no way they didn't hear me, they were choosing to ignore me. The doctor came in, was flippant, told me there was no actual way I had received a text stating my baby was dead, and when I showed it to her, she shrugged and said that "wasn't what we needed to be worried about right now." She shifted the conversation to what needed to happen next, and since we had been left alone for a while, we had already decided on a d&c. She questioned my decision, made me feel stupid for choosing a d&c over medication because "neither are a walk in the park". My husband got pretty angry at this and told her we wanted the d&c, and as horribly as she was treating his wife, it better be free. I understand that's not a reasonable thing to say, but you have to understand that baby we had been trying for 3 years to have had died, and we were being treated like this was a mild inconvenience, not the death of a baby we wanted so badly. At that point she LAUGHED, and asked why on earth she would do anything for us for free. This was more than I could emotionally handle, and I grabbed my purse and walked out. My actual OB called me 4 days later and prescribed the medication over the phone. I had to return later for lab work to make sure it was over. I was beside myself with grief the entire time I was there. Standing in the lobby, being stared at by pregnant women while I sobbed. The only people that showed me any compassion at all were the patients who were in the waiting room. Your receptionist had all of the sympathy of a gas station attendant ringing up a bag of chips, and a wonderful patient brought me a tissue and asked if I was okay. I manage a veterinary hospital. My staff has more compassion and care for feral strays than your office showed me during the worst days of my life. My therapist was horrified, and my marriage counselor (yes, I have needed both to recover from your "care") told me to look into legal action. But I haven't. It's taken me a year to even be able to write this review. It's not your fault my baby died. I don't blame you for that. However, the trauma.....that's on you. In the time that I desperately needed compassion and empathy, or even someone to help me process and make good decisions, your practice treated me like my baby didn't matter, and that mine and my husband's emotions were invalid. read more

She left me with no aftercare instructions after having a procedure which led to immense pain and infection. Her response on the phone when I called for advice was "if you aren't happy with your care go somewhere else". Upon being treated for the 3rd time in a week due to her malpractice, I told her that she should have told me what to do post procedure - she responded "you're a teacher do you know what you're doing at all times?" and i responded you are a doctor you MUST know what you're doing or you shouldn't be practicing! ladies watch out they are adding a $5.00 "chaperone fee" to your co pay i ask what this was & the check in lady stated this was a fee being added by my insurance company . not the practice. i tried to refuse to pay but ended up paying it. i called my insurance company to ask about & she stated the insurance company will not add "fees" & once the claim is submitted will state co pay i owe is what my insurance card has on it. this practice is charging a fee that should be included in the service they provide! all of my years going to a dr have i ever been charged a 'chaperone fee". they are getting rich on this from their patients! please ladies check your statement, contact your insurance company & dont pay more than you are suppose to pay. i made my insurance company aware of this & if enough people call they will investigate this practice of adding the $5.00. i will not be going back to this practice if they are going to cheat people read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR $$ here!!! YOU ARE A NUMBER NOT A NAME. I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS BUT IF I CAN SAVE AT LEAST ONE PREGNANT FEMALE GOING HERE I WILL. Let's start at my first appointment. When I arrived they requested payment right then and there. There is a sign that states "credit cards has a transaction fee" I like using my credit card when possible to get points unless there is a surcharge. So I took out my debit card...once she swiped I asked why there is a surcharge she said we charge for all card payments. I let her know the sign is misleading and should state "credit/debit cards" she then said "I don't make the signs here" in a very rude way with an eye roll. I was meeting my OBGYN Dr. Wear for the first time she walked in the room and the very first thing she said to me with big eyes was "wow we don't work with many people your age.... Was this an accident or were you planning to get pregnant?" As she moved her eyebrows around. I was in shock and told her "I don't even know how to respond to this. No it's not an accident" she then proceeded to apologize and say "well I had one of my kids a 37" and shrugged her shoulders. One I don't give a flying f about your pregnancy she talked more about herself than I cared to hear. Two this is one of the rudest comments to make to someone who is pregnant for the first time. Once leaving I was devastated. I had set my next appointment because they demand it before leaving. When I went up to the desk there was a chick there named MYA who was talking very badly about another patient right in front of me with her staff members....they were all celebrating because she is changing OBGYN's..... WONDER WHY MYA ?!? So unprofessional. Next visit came quick and I don't know why, but we decided to give them another chance since Dr. Wear apologized for her extremely rude comment. Our next appointment was at 8:30am followed by one at 10am. We got there at 8:20 and there were 4 people in line in front of us which took about 20 minutes. They called us back to go over our payment plan before even seeing the emergency surgery procedure paperwork they requested which might lead to me having a C-section (this would add a lot more money) The financial lady said "well we will just charge you for a c-section and if you don't have one you will get refunded.... This made our monthly payment ALOT HIGHER it was already at $715 before C-section. Instead how about we wait to see what procedure I am going to have. She told me they needed a signature... seemed extremely money hungry. She then sent us back to the waiting room where we waited and waited as we saw patient after patient go in.. at 9:45 I went up to see how much longer we had to wait. The rude front desk lady said "you already had your ultrasound appointment it's not 10 yet"....OUR APPOINTMENT WAS AT 8:30. I told her I had not even seen the doctor yet of course there was zero apology as she literally rolled her eyes at me. After our appointment we decided to explore different facilities. I called to have my paperwork transferred to a new OBGYN a gal named Katie told me she would send it over the following day after I fill out a release form. This was great considering my new OBGYN couldn't make my next appointment until they received documents and lab-work. The next day came and I called to verify the documents/lab worked was sent over. The VERY RUDE lady named MYA told me Katie left early and I now have to wait until Monday. They are so UNORGANIZED AND YOU COULD TELL the staff HATE THER JOBS especially Mya. I asked if the supervisor could please fax over the paperwork so I can get my appointment made. The supervisor told me "it takes 7-10 business days" I told her Katie said it could be right over. She then says "we can't see your signature anyways" lol yeaaaa ok. I can see it perfectly fine on my end. SO I sent over another copy of the release form. I called to verify they could see my signature. MYA proceeded to put me on hold for 30 minutes. I told her that was unacceptable to leave me on hold for that long and her response was "YOU DONE?" in broken English..as she proceeded to hang up the phone on me. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Still waiting for my paperwork to be sent. Surprise surprise. THE ICING ON THE CAKE THE NEW OBGYN TOLD ME "you would be surprised how many of their patients we get" NOPE NOT SURPRISED AT ALL. And NOTE: all of your patients are pregnant how about you make it as enjoyable of an experience as possible instead of being completely rude, unprofessional and stressful environment. Just a quick review- I've been here a few times over the last 2 years or so. It's true about the scheduling issues however, the staff in the front are very nice and friendly. I was seeing a doctor who left the practice which happen to be a blessing in disguise because I got to see Dr. Brothers on my recent visit. I am very happy. She was so kind, informative and listened to my concerns even though I was talking a lot. I didn't feel rushed and felt she gave me all the information I needed to hear. I highly recommend her and have recommended the office to my sister who is currently expecting. She's had a similar experience in the office. We will continue to come to this office. read more

This office will require you to pay in advance for all costs of having a baby including the delivery fee from the doctor. With the new year my insurance changed. When I arrived for my OB check up I was asked to pay the pre-payment amount. I informed her that I have a new insurance plan and it needed to be recalculated. The financial counselor, Krista, would not call my insurance or go online to check at the time because she said the computers were down. I understand that. My issue is that she wouldn't allow me to simply pay my normal contracted copay amount. She wanted me to pay a higher number she calculated to go towards future services or else they wouldnt allow me to see Dr. Adams today. And that's what happened. I didn't pay her incorrect, unconfirmed payment amount and was forced to seek a new OB. After filling my records transfer request, I asked Krista to refund me the extra payment money I had been paying all along since I transferred out. She made some incomprehensible excuses and followed that by I would have to deliver the baby. She had very strange, disrespectful, and rude behavior. I understand everyone has a boss, but what kind of boss would make Krista act this non-sensible about 1 payment? My account was literally paid up 100%. It's not like I had any past-due amounts. I've paid promptly each time and have been a good patient with a great relationship with Dr. Adams. What I asked is simple and standard. I'll pay my co-payment, you bill the insurance. And if there's anything else owed, send an invoice. As far as any pre-payment plans for the delivery, that's advanced payment on something that hasn't happened yet and now will not happen with me and any doctor of WHS! I'm so tired of my wife telling me how awful they are- I tried to call my self on her behalf. It's true- they are awful. Dr. Moore is a kind doctor but she should be ashamed of how poorly her business is run. I can't for the life of me imagine how you can have such pitiful customer service, rude front desk and that they NEVER answer the phone. Entirely negative experience (Front Staff / non-medical care) My 18 year old daughter was trying to make her own appointment. Obviously, she was a little anxious being new to this type of adult task. What an absolute horrible / negative experience. They called the other day and left a voicemail. She tried for two days to call back with no luck getting anyone. At one point, she left a voicemail indicating she was calling back trying to set an appointment. Today, (10/24/19) my daughter got through, sort of. She was placed on hold and hung up on twice. The answering system menu was not functioning in one instance and in another instance a person picked up and then hung up after we waited on hold. The third time, my daughter got through to a person. The person on the other end was rude and just horrible. Me an my wife were shocked (we could hear everything because we were coaching her on how to make these types of calls). I wish I recorded it. I have rarely experienced such rudeness. The person on the other end told my daughter she would not even talk with her unless she had her insurance card. My daughter informed the person she did not have the card on her at the moment but told her the plan (it's a Cadillac health insurance plan). By now, my daughter was getting anxious (first real experience doing this) with this horrible experience and I looked like an idiot for telling her the people at the office would be nice because its their job. My wife ended up taking the phone. Needless to say, I told my wife to cancel the appointment and find another provider. read more

I love the doctors, nurses, and nurse practitioners. I do not like the front desk and billing. they have over charged me multiple times. I even have my insurance companies app on my phone logged in. pulled up the office. looked up the procedure. showed them the price. They still made me pay the incorrect price. I got my EOB today. guess who was right. Me of course. I hate that the billing department just argues with patients rather than double checking. this is the second time in 3 years they argued with me and I was right. it just makes me angry. Dr. Adams is an extremely competent and compassionate doctor. However, every other facet of this clinic is flawed. First off, it takes me weeks or even months to get my birth control refilled. I have to be on birth control due to medical reasons. It is medically necessary and without it, I get very sick. Dr. Adams usually gives me several refills, but I tend to use them all up before my next appointment. It takes my pharmacy weeks to hear back from the clinic about refilling my prescription, even if I call the office myself. I had also brought up concerns about PCOS. The phlebotomist knew I had not been fasting, but did the test anyway. When the results came back negative, they were treated as gospel and I was not allowed another test. In addition, the staff here has made every appointment incredibly embarrassing. I understand that I am rather young and under the suggested age to see a gynecologist. However, both nurses are reception point out my age with every appointment. It seems that the nurses here correlate my birth control prescription with sexual activity and feel the need to comment on why I am "too young" to be on birth control or to be participating in sexual activity. The reception and staff are just generally venomous. I have only had one good interaction with a scheduler. When I called to reschedule my yearly appointment due to surgery (a week in advance), the scheduler told me that she "didn't know what I was expecting to get, considering [I] was calling a week before my appointment". I have also been given other patients' bills and checkout information, including a woman who came in for an ultrasound (note: I am not pregnant and was not seen for an obstetrics appointment). When I went back to the window to get my correct bill, the receptionist acted as if it was my fault I hadn't noticed the mistake immediately. Due to these events, I will be seeking services at another gynecologist's office. I encourage others to do the same. read more

I had a couple of friends recommend Women Health Specialists when I first moved to town. I had to call multiple times and wait on hold just to get an appointment, but I figured that meant they were a popular practice. My first appointment with Dr. Moore was fine, but after I got pregnant with my second child I had an even harder time getting appointments and seeing the doctor. Because I was already a patient of Dr. Moore, I had to be scheduled with her for all of my prenatal appts. Her availability was very limited. I had 4 appointments in their office and did not get to see her at any of the visits. Each appointment was handled by the nurse practitioners. When I expressed disappointment at not being able to see my doctor until well past my 20 week appt., the nurse was rude and told me I shouldn't have scheduled on a day that Dr. Moore was on-call. (I had no idea the days she was on-call). During my appointment that day, I told the nurse that I was frustrated as well. She was offended that I was not happy just seeing her and told me she was trained to handle patients and my question. At this point I was getting emotional and actually crying, but she did nothing to apologize for the scheduling or her rude response. They will require you to pay your full estimated costs by the end of your second trimester. I paid at each appointment. When I notified them that I was no longer going to be a patient because I was unhappy with the care and the office, they did not ask why. I requested my deposit be refunded, and they said it would be processed within the month once it was billed through insurance. I didn't hear anything from them for over a month. When I called in inquire about my refund. They said they were still waiting on billing from the insurance. Basically they were keeping over $1,000 of my money until they were sure all of my prenatal appts. were covered! I finally had to call and request to speak to the office manager over 2 months later and demand that my refund check was processed. Two days later I received my entire refund. I was very unhappy with the way I was treated by the front office, billing, and the nurse practitioners. Don't go here unless you want to be treated as another number. They are much more interested in getting paid and scheduling a full day than with patient care and relationships. read more

I've been going here for 3 years. I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before I went to this clinic or I may not have gone. And that would have been a huge mistake! My doctor, Dr. Moore is fabulous. She never makes me feel rushed and really listens to me. Her nurse is always nice and available for questions. The most important thing to me is that they do not make you wait hours and hours. I am always seen within 5-10 minutes of my appointment time. They sent me to get a mammogram and I was able to be worked in that day. Again, excellent service from kind nurses and staff with no wait!! They were extremely busy but I was able to get right in and out. Everyone there has been very professional in their dealings with me. The only complaint: The receptionist was talking about a patient who was late for her appointment and apparently owed a balance on her bill, loudly and with the window open for everyone to hear. That made me uncomfortable but it certainly wasn't a reflection of the doctor. read more

I've been seeing Dr. McGowan for my annual check-ups for almost 15 years. She is always very kind and has a great bedside manner which I think is very important in a doctor. Sometimes it can be difficult to schedule an appointment. They are very busy and being closed for lunch does not help. If McGowan is not immediately available, I have always been able to see a nurse practitioner in a timely manner. A few visits have had me waiting (naked) in the exam room for longer than I'd like. But I've never had an issue with her nurses or practitioners. And I've never had an issue with billing. The clerical ladies may not always be the happiest or friendliest, but they have never been rude or treated me unfairly. If I've ever had to call and leave a message, I've always received a call back within 24-48 hours. And if I've been told I should receive a call from a nurse, I've always received that call. All in all, I've been very happy with Dr. McGowan and Womens Health Specialists... and would definitely recommend!!! read more

I would NOT recommend going here to anyone reading this. This has been the worst first time parent experience. I'm convinced any rating above a one star is a lie. Throughout the entire process the staff and front desk have been extremely rude. Dr. Adams is very short and doesn't explain anything. Which is not what you want when this is your first time. She seemed irritated that I even asked questions. I get that she does it every day but she will not be doing it for us ever again. My wife is as sweet has can be and it seriously hurt my feelings and made me mad the way they respond to her. Also, today was her last visit and they spring on her that we have to pay 1500 dollars for our visits and doctor fees. We were informed that there was supposed to be an option offered at the 28 week visit to start paying payments as we went. This was never told to us until today. (Week 39. Again, everyone is short with talking to us) After they tell my sweet, unconfrontational, and hormonal pregnant wife that she has to pay it today I get the phone call every husband doesn't want; your pregnant wife at the doctors office calling because she is upset. They handled the situation very poorly and after discussing it we were told we could pay it before the baby is born. Today is Tuesday; we are getting induced Thursday. Paying for services isn't the problem but when you throw it at someone in a rude manor, right after they openly admit they forgot to offer us the payment plan, then naturally you won't be happy. I could go on about the scheduling nightmares and lack of communication between the staff but I will sum it up as just a waste of your time. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

First of all I have had so many scheduling issues with this place. Making appointments just to show up and be told I never made an appointment. My most recent mishap is they refused to refill my birth control and blamed me for not making a follow up appointment. I had tried to make a follow up appointment at the end of my last visit but the lady at checkout told me they didn't have the calendar for the month I needed and that they would call me to schedule once they got it. Never got a call. Hadn't thought about it till today when I went to pick up my birth control and the pharmacy tells me they can't get WHS to approve it. I call all day trying to figure out what's going on and no one can tell me anything. A nurse practitioner calls and tells me it's my fault for not being on top of scheduling my appointments. I ask if I can just get this months refill and make an appointment so It doesn't screw up my hormones and period. Nope they need me to make an appointment and tell my dr in person I need more refills. If this was the first time I wouldn't mind jumping through a few hoops, but this has been an ongoing issue I've had with this place for years. Constant scheduling issues. Very rude and incompetent reception and checkout. And the blaming me for their shortcomings just pushed me over the edge this time. read more

This office is extremely busy and you have to wait on hold for eternity to speak to the receptionist. I see Dr. Moore and lately have been stuck seeing the Nurse Practitioners who are young enough to be my child. In addition, I more than likely cannot conceive and it is very painful for me. They need to have different hours for those only needing Gyn appts. As I was in tears last time after having to stand behind a very pregnant woman for almost 10 min. waiting to check out. The worst place ever! I have been going there for years and loved my doctor. However, my 14 year old daughter is having some issues. We have been to an endocrinologist and they confirmed that this is a normal gynecologist issue. So I thought great... She will be able to see my doc! Called and they said no. Explained the situation and they said they would look at her medical records and they would call me. Waited 2 months and nothing. Finally called them and they said they were not "equipped" to see a 14 year old. But wait... If she were pregnant they would see her. What??!! So are you "equipped" to see a 47 year old? Absolutely worst experience I've ever had. Just moved here from across the country. I'm 23 weeks pregnant. It took over a month to get scheduled after having my medical records transferred to them. They had me do a urine sample as if this was my first appointment ever and needed reassurance I was pregnant. When they nursing assistant took my blood pressure she had the stethoscope on the side of my lower arm. Not anywhere close to where you will get a reading (i was a CNA so I know how to take a blood pressure). She then tells me my blood pressure is 180-120 and "that's perfect!". Definitely was a huge red flag. I was told to get completely undressed and the dr would be in after a few minutes to give me time to get into a gown. 30 seconds later, I'm naked and in comes the dr. No warning (if she knocked I absolutely did not hear a thing) No apology. I put my feet up in the stirrups for a pelvic exam (which shouldn't have been needed since in in my second trimester) and in comes another lady. She didn't introduce herself. I wasn't asked if I was comfortable with her being in the room. Nothing. After already having my body exposed to people in the hall I was already very uncomfortable. During the pelvic exam I was not talked through the process. Things were just done very fast. Next thing I know my breast are being grabbed and examined. When measuring my uterus, the tape measure was pressed into my belly so hard it hurt. I already explained to the dr that my belly was already tight and uncomfortable but clearly that didn't matter. They were able to accept me as a new patient the day after I found out I was pregnant. They have taken extra special care of me and I never wait for more than 15 minutes to be called back. Everyone is nice, professional, and willing to answer any and all questions. Dr. Salter is AMAZING! I would definitely recommend! read more

I believe that they have done a better job at the front desk since there are different girls there. I have not had to deal with negative attitudes when calling or checking in. I am not sure who decided to make the changes, but it was for the better. Again, I have an amazing doctor and I appreciate how she appreciates her patients. Dr. Wear is an awesome person and very caring individual. I appreciate that she's always concerned about me as an individual and how she always tell me I am quiet. Which is true because I any fairly quiet, but I also have to get to know a person and feel comfortable with them. I do understand that people have their own experiences, but I have never had any bad ones with her. Thank you to whoever decided to make these changes and thank you to the receptionist for being "people-people." Lol! read more

If you are pregnant, you are treated like royalty at this place, but if you're like me and go in for annual exams, you have to book out weeks in advance and I always wait at least 2 hours. They always have some excuse like "oh we're short people today." Then hire more people! I recently felt irritation down in my lady area and have called and called the past few days and left messages but someone has yet to call me back.
