They took the time to contact the owner of the antique items I was interested in so they could negotiate the best possible price for me. Their customer service was already outstanding, but what impressed me the most was what happened after the store had already closed. I purchased a beautiful antique bike that wouldn't fit in my car, and without hesitation, they offered to deliver it to my home. That level of kindness and dedication is rare to find these days. I had one of the most disappointing experiences here recently. My partner and I were looking at a cast iron cake mold in the store, and the owner told us it was a Griswold and hyped it up. We've been looking for a Griswold so even with the pricier cost, I bought it as a Christmas gift for him. He was so excited and happy, but when we went home and took the ribbons off that kept it closed, we realized there were no markings on it which is a signature of these Griswold molds. The ones that don't are rare and have a very specific look to them. After searching online we learned that this mold was in fact not an authentic Griswold. It was one of the many reproductions made by various companies. When I called the store (less than 2hrs after we left) and brought my concern up to the owner, she immediately began condescendingly lecturing me saying "Well the people I bought it from said it's a Griswold and they are very smart people so they know what they're talking about". All sales are final so there's nothing she can do about it, she said. This condescension continued as she called me again and started texting me. She continued to adamantly claim this was a real Griswold. Well a couple back and forths later she suddenly says "I agree with the vendor and he said the tag does have a question mark behind the word Griswold I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place that's why all sales are final". We would have noticed a question mark when we looked at the tag. We wouldn't have bought it if it did. And also now you're saying it's real and it may or may not be real. That's contradictory. You're now admitting you and the vendor both knew that there was a possibility it was a fake yet you sold it to us by saying it was a real one? Once I brought this contradiction up, she says she told me when checking out that all sales were final and that it's on the receipt. First of all, she never once said that. I had someone with me who was there and they didn't hear it either. I even told her to check the CCTV footage because I know she's making this up. Second, the receipt was not given to me it was immediately put inside the bag as soon as she ripped it off. Lastly, what does it even matter? You knew it might not be authentic but you lied to us. I have never been more disappointed in a shop and a seller in my life. It was my first time visiting this antique shop and I won't go back. Customers, be aware. The owner will scam you and not feel an ounce of shame or remorse for it. Instead, go to the many other antique shops around the HD that treat customers with respect. Also, on my review on their FB page, they seriously replied with saying something along the lines of "what are we supposed to do, research everything?" Yes. Yes you are. Or just don't scam people, it's not that difficult. read more
