We really enjoy going to Carriage House antiques. We go almost every time we come up to our lake house at Spring Valley lake. They are 5 to 7 minutes away from there. The staff is so friendly and helpful. And like Forrest Gump said, life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. And that is true here, where the inventory changes daily. We love it we buy one or two things almost every time we go. It is fun. It's like going to Grandma's house and then adding a bunch of Collectibles that are modern day. It's great. This is my all-time favorite antique store, it is locally owned and just a beautiful place to come to. Even if you're just walking around, they have free coffee and tea and there's so much to see. There are tons of different booths owned by different people so the prices vary, but I'm absolutely sure there's something in everyone's budget. Everyone is so helpful even when buying big items. I brought my friend here for the first time and she loved it. She bought stuff to furnish her newly built house and was so excited about the prices that I know she will be back. Came in with wife. We were immediately greeted and offered tea/coffee on the house. Great customer service and of course great prices too. Restrooms were cleaned and can keep you occupied while on the toilet, looking at all the nice items on display. Bought a Bible, bag of fresh tea and a bag of whole coffee beans roasted by the owner and friend. We will be back. I really enjoyed the tea/ coffee that was offered. One of the antique stores that I have on rotation for browsing. This one is a mix of antique and newer gift items. It is a clean and neatly organized store with many vendor spaces and items to discover. Definitely devote enough time for a leisurely treasure hunt. I went to this store on Sunday and had horrible service. When I got there I was welcomed but a lady started following me and my friend around the store. I didn't want to believe we were being profiled since we were teenagers but by the end it was obvious. Me and my friend came in about 30 minutes before closing just to take a look around since we've never been here before. As we kept going she just kept following us and it was extremely uncomfortable. The same lady came up behind us later on and told us the store closed in five minutes, we just gazed at stuff on our way out not looking at things as closely as we were before and as we're exiting she comes up behind us again and says, " If you wanted to come in just to look you shouldn't have come in 15 minutes before closing." I don't think you shouldn't speak to your customers like this EVER. And I'm well aware that I got there at 4:30. This place will not be getting my money and it shouldn't receive yours either. read more

Bad taste, My mom bought a dresser and they called her to tell her they would charger her daily for storage of said dresser, but when we get they they tell us they will have help to load it and it ready to go, Instead No help (back still hurts) and the dresser still had Christmas Decorations on it, should we charge for this now too? read more

We went back today because my husband wanted to look around. I really didn't want to go back but he persuaded me to stop by. Well never again, I went in and I feel we were racially profiled. I'm hispanic and my child is half hispanic and white, but he has a darker tone. Well, here comes the owner I presume acting as if she had something to do. She was on the phone and went straight back of shop where we were at and it seemed to me she thought we were going to steal something. I've never been profiled like this before but as Trump has won the election this is the second time I've already experienced blunt racism. If your a person of color, I'd skip this place. read more

i was just at this store and wow this is the first time i experience racism, im hispanic. as i left i thought maybe i just read into it but no! i came onto yelp and saw many other reviews saying theyve experienced racism too (hispanics as well). i went up to the counter to purchase a ring and the three ladies (2 older white ladies and 1 younger brunette) behind the counter were talking so i waited for them to acknowledge me. as im waiting another person walks up, an older white lady, and one of the THREE ladies (brunette one) quickly turns around to help her even though i was there before her. so i stared at the three ladies because i was about to tell them something and im sure they saw my facial expression and thats when one of the 2 older white ladies finally says "oh were you ready" with an attitude then i said "yes im standing here waiting for someone to turn around" and she proceeds to ring me up. the whole interaction was very hostile and uncomfortable. shame on this establishment for their behavior something needs to be done. also this isn't an antique store as advertised you can go to other places to get better finds. read more

Love everything about this shop. I practically go every weekend to see what treasures I find. They offer free coffee and tea. you will find yourself going around the store twice just to make sure you didn't miss anything. Well at least I do. :) I found a great Curio Cabinet. On 5/18, I decided I wanted to finally take the time after only ever driving by Carriage House for several years, to go inside since I had the day off with my Boyfriend. Upon walking in, a woman customer was standing at the register and all employees turned to look at use but didn't see fit to acknowledge us nor smile, just stared at us. Why? I'd like to know. I tried to push it off, started to look around and then their conversation including the woman checking out who was talking the most, went from the workers Virginia accent, confirming her politic stance as well, which led to politics and how Biden can't put a sentence together. Firstly, politics in place of business is a NO, then it went into how Millennials are all airheads and we can't do anything right, followed by a comment about Blacks and Mexicans, etc. you get the picture and thats where I drew the line. I yelled BABE, followed by his name and said lets GO, they made it very clear we aren't welcome here. One of the workers was trying to quiet the Virginia worker down but even her weak attempt at trying stop the conversation wasn't appreciated. She just stood there looked at me whispering to her to stop like that was going to end it. Why would any one want to be in an establishment where a woman who works there made it known she was from Virginia and how she agreed with the customer spewing all this crap and threw in her words as well. So thank you actually for letting it be known that, I, as well as my boyfriend were not welcome in your establishment. You didn't have to directly tell us that, you did a good job. Is the shop beautiful, most definitely and I would have been willing to buy anything in there, but when you buy beautiful items from people who are so nasty and inconsiderate and disrespectful, makes me not want any of that negative crap in my presence. Even sharing the experience at another antique shop confirmed that it wasn't the only time people have commented on the rudeness that comes from the people that operate Carriage house. I just found this place while visiting the desert. It's the first time I've been to this type of shop, it's like a small indoor mall where different vendors display their items. Not many stores with this concept in LA, so had to understand that sales people don't necessarily know much about what they are selling. They have some nice items and the vendors keep clean well stocked booths. It's a pleasant presentation and nice to look around; plus, prices, for the most part, are fair. There are some vendors that overprice, but as a whole items are priced accordingly. On the other hand, their customer service is not as pretty, it's abysmal. I could not tell the difference between owner and staff/employee. Nevertheless, the staff / sales people are rude, to the point of ignoring customers. As you walk in, the register and it's staff is right in front of you. So, the first time I walked in, there was no acknowledgment whatsoever but just a blank stare. Fine, maybe they were having a bad day. However, the other two times, it was more of the same. In spite of this, I bought a couple of items and paid for them without even much eye contact from the lady at the register. Then, I tried to start a conversation to no avail. Okay, I got the hint, you don't care for customers. There is a sense of snobbishness that is unbecoming and unwelcoming. This is something I don't understand because it's really not an upscale store, not that it makes a difference. But, it's too bad the staff has a bad attitude, because I won't be back. My mom was excited to take us here for Mother's Day. This is the cutest store I've ever seen in my life. It just needs puppies, kittens, and bunny rabbits running around at your feet. But it's still damn cute without them. It's cozy, clean, and well-organized. Items from each seller are organized into themed sections. With how well-displayed and put together everything is, and what good shape everything is in, you'd think the prices would be 12 times higher than they are. But they AREN'T! You'll find vintage furniture, dishes, and other knick-knacks. Cool things like glass 1960s bar carts, old cameras, an ornate globe-shaped mini-bar that flips to reveal an ice bowl and glasses. I could have looked around for hours. The women who work here are incredibly friendly and kind, and little complimentary coffee/tea stations are set up around the store. My mom knows her thrift stores and sure found a good one. Can't wait to go back! read more

Even though I have driven past here a thousand times I didn't really notice it until I had read all the good yelp reviews. My son and husband not so much excited when we were driving past and I wanted to go in. This soon changed when my son saw they had cookies & cupcakes for shoppers set up so cute and welcoming, different teas, it was so charming and inviting, we browsed for quite awhile. My husband thought it would be expensive, but was surprised how fair the prices were. They have a great selection for young and old, I will be back for sure! When I visited the store, there were 3 women walking around doing nothing at all and when I asked to see something in a locked case, they were totally bothered. This is NOT an antique store, the name is misleading. It's a home decorating store with very few real antiques. It's mostly new or almost new home decorating items with the antique, primitive, farmhouse look as well as a smattering of vintage or newer than vintage items. It's a beautiful store with lots to look at, just not an antique shop. Years ago, it was more of an antique shop but like so many others, inventory has moved to new and almost new items. Another thing to note, prices are for cash sales only. They charge another 3.5% if you use a debit/credit card. read more

I am a local and The Carriage House used to be my favorite store in the high desert. I have been shopping here for over 10 years. Some of my most favorite weekends included a lunch out and a browse at The Carriage House. I have purchased almost all my antique trinkets there. They even offered free coffee and cookies while you browsed their adorable store! (Before COVID of course) The ladies who run the shop were always so sweet. Then COVID hit and I don't know what happened but the service and customer care dropped dramatically. When this store re opened up after the first lock down in 2020 they posted pictures of their merchandise on their Facebook and Instagram pages, but when customers commented and asked if they would do a curbside service for COVID precautions their response was they were just to busy for that. I am high risk for COVID, my kids had started distant learning and I was spending my time at home decorating and fixing up my house using delivery and curbside service options so I was quite disappointed to see they wouldn't offer a simple curbside service to help keep their customers and themselves healthy but hey to each their own. I didn't go back to shop till this year now that I am vaccinated and can shop safely. Finally I went in this past weekend to purchase some vessels for floral arrangements. The first thing I noticed when I walked in were huge signs requiring customers to wear masks and a giant bottle of hand sanitizer by the door with another sign asking customers to sanitize their hands before shopping . I thought that was so nice they were showing concern especially since their customer base is a lot of elderly folks. Then I looked over at the counter and all the employees were sitting behind the counter with their masks hanging around their chins. I don't know how she affords to have so many employees as it is, they all just sit there talking. 3 of them put their masks back on over their mouths when they greeted me then automatically took them back off. The brunette who rung me up didn't even bother with the charade and just didn't wear one. Huge signs were posted all over the counter complaining about customers using Debit/CC and charging an additional 3.5% to those customers who do because they claim the products are priced for cash sales. I just don't understand all the hoopla. Either wear the mask or don't, Offer a credit card option or don't but cut out all the hypocrisy, know your brand, and appreciate your customers. Your running a gift shop not a yard sale. I wish them the best but I heard their are some great little shops headed toward Phelan as well that are worthy to browse. read more

Very nice shop and the employees were quite informative. I got some unique items, of course, and upon checkout, the clerk guided me towards additional antique stores. This is not your flea market, thrift store, rummage sale priced antique store. Each vendor has taken their time with beautiful, well arranged displays, so you should expect a shopping experience and priced items to match. It is about 2.5 hours to drive from Vegas, but it is quite enjoyable and well worth the trip. read more
