Update: after several collection calls, I finally got their collection agent to send me a copy of the bill today, the first time I had seen it. It was for $215 for attaching two wire nuts to some bare wires and looking at my electrical box without touching anything and saying "it looks ok." Remember they were out there to give me an estimate.... So instead of an estimate, they sent an bill which I never received. Why didn't I get it? Because they sent it to an address to which the post office does not deliver, and it was returned to them. Wonder Electric knew or should have known that I didn't get their invoice, because the post office sent it back to them. Instead of correcting their error, they sent me to collections -- nice! I also told their office person that I didn't receive anything, but instead of her asking where it should be sent, or asking for an email address, or anything, she just told me the bill (which I had never seen, for an amount I was never told) was going straight to collections. There's an element of spite in this, because the collections person told me that Wonder Electric thinks I was just using them to get a free professional opinion before I did the work myself. This would explain, though not excuse, why they never got back to me and why they treated me with such disdain -- but there's no truth to it at all. In fact, I got (or tried to get) estimates from Hale Electric and another company, because I really needed the work done and I was willing to pay for it. Hale came out and looked and then told me they were too busy (job too small), and the other place ghosted me, but only Wonder Electric sent me a bill. I surmise that they decided (incorrectly) that I was trying to cheat them out of their expertise, so they never bothered to send it, but instead to charge me $215 for capping some wires. Meanwhile, I have excellent relations with my plumber, my builder, and other people I hire to help with renovations. I pay them promptly and without complaint. I have left them excellent reviews here on Yelp. Wonder Electric needs to seriously examine how their office works and stop making bad assumptions about their customers, then spitefully pursuing vendettas against them for imagined slights. I am sure there are good people at Wonder Electric (in fact everyone who came out seemed nice), but some people there seem to want to start vendettas with their customers. That's not something that anyone imagines when they call an electrician, but that's what I got. read more

We had no power in about a third of our house, thought it might be a breaker, but I couldn't find it. It wasn't in the breaker box. So, I called Wonder Electric at 8:30 AM. At first I was told they couldn't get anyone here until the next day. I then explained our problem in it's entirety. The lady asked me to hold on a minute. She came back and told me they would get someone here as soon as possible. Anyway, from the time I called until the problem was fixed was less than 3 hours. Absolutely awesome! A lady by the name of Amanda came out, very nice lady. She found the problem and told me about a couple other things that should be looked at. I would recommend Wonder Electric to everyone. I probably should have looked at Yelp reviews prior to scheduling time for a quote as all of the negative reviews make sense. My appointment was scheduled from 9:30am - 10:30am. The technician arrived close to 11am. I was with a heating and air technician at the time and asked that the electrician showed up and asked if he could wait for five minutes if possible. I told him that I expected him earlier. In five mins I was ready for the electrician and he basically got angry and was extremely rude stating that he showed up at the property multiple times prior to now. I decided not to show him my panel within seconds since his attitude was so horrible, and he left complaining and mumbling. Horrible vibes. First of all let me say I've done business with wonder electric a number of times and it's never what's promised or when it's promised. I recently had a service upgrade and the were not even able to measure and cut properly so I now have 4 wire nuts in my panel and 2 of those are for the 100amp going to the sub panel. The box looks like my child did it and it took 4 months longer then promised and the took the extra 20 feet of #4 wire I bought and refused to return it which has now cost me money and time since I planned on using this for my hot tub . They miss labeled have the circuits in the box and have done this on another property we have as well. I was verbal quoted one price then charges 800 dollars more and threatened with collections to ruin my credit if o did not pay . This companies name fits their status. They are a complete wonder!???!! I am finally dropping this company after many attempts over months to get them to start work on my home. They came out for estimates but could never pinpoint a time to start the job. There was one excuse after another and incompetent persons in charge, anything from not feeling well to going on a vacation. I spoke with the secretary on many occasions and always an excuse that sounded legitimate, but nothing would ever become of it. Finally after undue patience from worker(s) in charge and the secretary I am dropping this "company". My last conversation with the secretary after the worker in charge did not return my calls, I asked the secretary if they were interested in the job. She was very insistent and reassuring they are interested in the job, but have been busy on other sites. She had said I will talk to the worker in charge and call you tommorrow. I have had this company out to the house many times over the years; it was a great little business. Jesse, an employee, is very capable, an efficient worker, and has a heart of gold. Recently, John retired and Sean took over. When I called the last time, I wanted more lights installed in a room that is being built. They messed up the scheduling, but recovered handily from that. Sean is young and doesn't have the chops his pop has. Sean is technically proficient, but doesn't know how to listen to the customer until he understands what is going on. Sean couldn't figure out how to tap into the existing electric nor would the job pass code when it was finished. I called Jesse and he and John came out and took a look. They talked with me and listened to me. Then Pop gave Junior instructions. They took out all of the work they did on their prior visit and redid the job. In the end, although they could not plug the holes they left in the beams it looks splendid and works well. I don't like the drama of renegotiating a bad job in the middle, when I want work done. There was drama, they could have been total jerks, but they were not and that was good - total jerks on top of drama is time in Hades - this was just Purgatory and I am now happy in my new enlightenment! read more

i live in 29 palms. i didn't go to wonder elect. for solar repair cuz thought they only did traditional elect. finally i saw a small sign on their fence reading "solar". they need a much larger sign. they sent craig out. craig had the problem fixed in 15 - minutes. ( a screw needed to be tightened ) craig is the only solar mani will use. he knows his business, and therefore saves me money cuz gets the job done fast. i called various solar shops in palm springs and the prices were a rip off. most p.s. shops wanted $150 an hour. wonder gets 98 an hour which i think is reasonable and fair. when i need solar repairs i insist that wonder send craig. i recomend wonder electric and craig for solar repair. i hope wonder realized how fortunate they are to have a solar repairman the quality of craig. regard.. ron brogden / 29 palms / if you want specific info about craig call me 760 401 3005./ craig is the best there is ... ! t.y. read more

had them upgrade my panel last year. that went fine, they came on set day and finished on same day. price was fair. however, they never had SCE come back and do inspection or lock in meter. I tried called them twice never got answer. I admit I failed to follow up more. I ended up flagging down a SCE truck that was at neighbors and guy was nice enough to look at panel after I explained what happen he asked if it had been inspected. I said I had no idea Wonder Electric did the work. He said oh I see! He looked over panel and said Well it looks good you have proper grounding and placement and got his little special lock and locked the meter in. I now need a breaker replaced that appears to have been broken upon installation, but I can't prove they broke it all I wanted to do was buy the breaker from them since no one seems to have it in stock. They wanted to send someone out at $98 service fee and $49 travel fee plus the cost of the breaker and who knows what else. I told them I could not pay that much at this time. She put what I was told the Bose/owner on the phone with me. He said he can't sell parts right now as he needs them to keep the guys working. He told me to go on amazon they have them. and that is sounds like I have too much stuff on one breaker. Yes, maybe but we haven't the money to sort that out yet. I just need the broken breaker replaced so that it will stay in the panel right and not sit cockeyed in the slot. casing is broken on the breaker so it will not stay on the bars as needed and is losing contact, so it is tripping. Yes, I know amazon shows they have them, but they have a 2-to-3-week delivery and cost twice as much or more then the hardware stores if they had one. I called back and asked why you can't sell me one now so I can fix my issue and order one yourself from amazon to replace it. I was then told let me check only to then be told they are out too. I am sure if I had been able to pay their $98 service fee and $49 travel fees as well as the parts cost and have them set me a date 2 or 3 weeks out, they would have had the part needed. the fact that I have a child and a disabled person in the home with a breaker problem didn't seem to mean anything to them. I thanked them for their rude service, and I will not use them again nor recommend them. I am not some random person trying to buy up parts I truly needed their help and they do not want to help fix something they may have broken. and I wasn't even asking that they do this under their warranty I was willing to pay for the breaker they may have broken in the first place, and I got no help. I used them because they like me are a long-time resident of 29 Palms. but clearly, they don't care about their customers as much as the money they can get out of them. giving 2 stars only because they came on time and completed initial work as promised. read more

I called another company and actually ended up being forwarded to Art and scheduled an estimate for a couple of electric items I wanted done. Art was with Wonder Electric it turns out. He was on time for the estimate and gave me a price and told me the staff from 2018 had been replaced. It's like a whole new company. A few days later we had the work done plus a couple of other items. Jerry and Carlos did a wonderful job and were on time to do our project. Art followed up. So, I contacted Wonder Electric via a web service request form and received a callback two days later. Since the issue was in the guesthouse it didn't really matter. When they came out (four days after my original inquiry) I showed the repairman the outlets that stopped working and explained that I had been landscaping and was worried that I cut a line. I also showed him the breaker box and told him that I tried resetting it two to three times. He reset it again and went inside. Sure enough they started working. He said that I didn't push it far enough when I reset the breaker. This entire experiment lasted six minutes and for this he charged me $85. Of course, it could not be free but $85 to reset a breaker. Shame one you Wonder Electric. Obviously, I will never use them again and will certainly never refer them to friends or neighbors. I contacted this company with a question and to receive a quote on some services. They were extremely rude and very reluctant to give me straight numbers on prices. Coincidentally, that week I was driving down Hwy 62 and a man driving a "Wonder Electric" truck nearly ran me off the road trying to cut me off. I have personally had them out to my house on several occasions to do various small jobs (including install lighting in my garage, install plug for my washer/dryer, and repair some switches that weren't working. Had a bulb replaced on a commercial building, two technicians were awsome, left to find replacement, their manager "Jesse Travino" comes to building and starts ranting and raving about not knowing what the bulb size was ect. and demanded old bulb to find replacement. (Mind you that their are 13 other lamps around building with same bulb). After i brought up to him that there are 13 other bulbs he goes on about how he only quoted for an hour of work and his workers were going over...7 minutes after he left his workers came back with correct bulb after we had just backtracked and sent one of our guys over to their business location to show Jesse the bulb. Technicians are awesome but management needs to go through customer service etiquette if all of them are like that Jesse Travino character. I would highly recommend going elsewhere or personally asking that Jesse stay off your work site. read more
