Jon was a pleasure to work with. Our main project was to hang a chandelier over our dining table, which he did quickly and exactly to our liking (he remained very patient as we kept tweaking the height). We then tacked on an installation of a video doorbell, which he also did very nicely despite the extreme heat outside. We asked him if we should be concerned that some of the outlets in the kitchen and bathrooms didn't have GFI's, and rather than try to upsell us on switching them out to GFI's he explained that they're often tied into another one as a cost savings measure. He went thru and tested the outlets that didn't have GFI's to verify that they were safe and that the little button on the associated GFI outlet would pop out when he tested them. We intend to bring him back to switch out some inconsistently colored/styled light switches as he did an excellent job and his pricing seemed very reasonable. read more

I was in need of an electrician to sort out many newly installed lights and fixtures that were constantly on the blink. Although it passed a quick home inspection, much of the work seemed to have been done by non-professionals during Covid lockdown. Jon was a recommendation from a friend who is willing to spend valuable research time to ensure the best service. Upon one look at my old breaker box, could see that it was 1/overloaded and 2/ a brand that was considered a fire hazard and unsafe to work on - for decades now. My option with him was to replace the panel (as he would not work to repair the one as it was). He was also clear that any good, licensed electrician knew that this was the expected protocol for this particular brand. Jon was quick to respond by email and text. He showed me how to lower the charging amps on my Tesla and we talked about several other possible courses of action. I wasn't sure what direction I was going to choose and told him I'd like to think about it. When I asked what I owed him, he said nothing--just consider it a free estimate. I finally did decide to change to an industrial type outlet. Jon came out and installed the outlet and checked the wiring. My experience with Jon was that he was very honest and wasn't trying to rip me off--because I know "nothing" about electricity.
