Joann's is closing and they keep saying 75% off but it's not an actual discount when you're paying $15/yr for low end apparel material. Enter into Fabrics R Us. I was in heaven. I remember coming here as a kid with my mom and auntie (they're big time sewers). We got so many cool options to test out now. I will make a point to buy more fabric and ship it to myself next time I'm back visiting. They have more expensive and better quality fabric near the front back area. I was able to find really nice pieces that I'll work up to on my skill level but already have ideas in mind. Can't wait to use everything and come back! I love viet aunties. They always scream and ask if you're ready for cutting. Just wave them down and they will cut the length you want, write it down on a paper and you can keep looking or get it all cut at once. Ps. Bring an ikea bag with you. lol it's hard to not go crazy. You can get a lot for your money here! Oh also, my sister got an incredible tule and embroidered fabric. It's absolutely stunning and would look incredible as an overlay in a dramatic dress/skirt vibe. It was black tule and red roses that popped. Dia de los Muertos or Goth vibe for sure dig it. I have attended five classes over the past year: Beginning Sewing, Start Quilting, Keep Quilting, and two thematic quilting classes. The instructors have all been helpful and inviting, ensuring that the beginner sewer/quilter feels confident as they progress along in their projects and share many helpful hints along the way. The shop also offers knitting classes as well as classes for open sewing, knitting, and crocheting. The shop carries yarn, fabric, and notions.
