She was the nicest and funniest nurse I could have ever asked for. She assisted me with everything I needed, joked with me when I was still in my post-surgery confusion, even walked me out along with my mom. This may be common for nurses to do, but she just blew me away with her kindness. If anyone asks I will definitely let them know Surg Center on Dry Creek is the place to go!!!!

How ridiculous that they expect payment but can't give a receipt. Their billing company supposedly provides the receipt, but I called and emailed them multiple times, and it took over three weeks to get anything. When I did, it didn't even have the amount that I paid on it. In my opinion, this surgery center is ridiculously overpriced (over $3,000 for a 10 min surgery - this does not include the anesthesia or doctor payment - just the surgery center). This is what is wrong with our health care system. They can charge ridiculous prices for mediocre services. My doctor did an excellent job, but she is not part of this surgery center, and I paid her a reasonable amount separately.

He was honest and up front saying that due to what was seen it was most likely surgery would be needed but he didn't push it on me. He gave me time to approach the situation with physical therapy and injections. I did make some progress but not enough to live a fully functional life without limitations like before. Dr. Aguwa was right, surgery it would be. He is very personable, considerate and caring. He makes sure you fully understand what will happen and things should be after surgery so you should not have any doubts in your mind. He is a miracle worker! I got to go home the same day of surgery. The nerve pain was gone immediately and I didn't even really need any of the pain meds after a few days. *Also I don't have any strange butcher/ Frankenstein scars, which is a plus. I highly recommend Dr. Augwa for all of your spinal needs.

His knowledge of the Cervical Spine is encyclopedic, his candor and honesty are beyond reproach, and for me, the outcome of a multiple, cervical disc replacement was an outstanding success. Dr. Jatana was wonderful - his team of PA's and nurse specialists - reflect his philosophy of placing the patient's welfare first. It is rare for me to be trusting of a surgeon, but Dr. Jatana is a straight shooter and he and his team were able to assuage my concerns regarding this delicate surgery. You may ask why my apprehension is beyond what anyone would normally feel facing c-spine surgery, here is why. Before retirement, my principal job was reviewing healthcare organizations for a congressional committee of the U.S. Congress. Unlike today, this position at the time was totally non-political. The scope ranged from major multiple hospitals, clinics, rehab, nursing homes, and related healthcare organizations. Admittedly, I saw the full spectrum of healthcare quality - that is why I rate Dr. Sanjay Jatana and his team of professionals so highly - they represent the best possible confluence of surgical skill and knowledge with extraordinary people skills. Even in the years since my retirement about a decade ago, I saw the full-range of quality in healthcare. At the bottom end of the spectrum are surgeons who drag gargantuan egos through the hallways and produce bad results. One north Denver based surgeon spent a total of less than three minutes total over the course of two office visits with me for a Lumbar disc replacement, instinct told me to just walk out - I knew better - I wish I had. He did not even bother to stick his face behind the pre-op curtain before surgery and did not follow-up post-surgery, left me in excruciating pain of 10/10 for an hour because the nursing staff were terrified of talking to this guy, and finally saw me some three months later, almost an afterthought. He spent more time talking about his teaching engagement in Europe than caring about his patients. This is the exact opposite of Dr. Jatana and his team's approach - thank goodness. My training and expertise tell me that you cannot go wrong with the Jatana-team. I think he is the best I have ever seen!

My wife had lower back surgery which went as planned with no complications. This just happened yesterday so she is definitely in the recovery stage at the moment. Back surgery is a very traumatic event no matter what type it is and Dr McPherson and Chris did a great job prior to the surgery explaining everything. There is little for me to say about the surgery itself but I can certainly comment on the recovery at the OCC Surgery Center next door to Peak. The admissions staff was welcoming, very professional and courteous. The bigger story was the pre op and post nurses, Ricky and Lindsey. It was their job to make my wife as comfortable and at ease as possible considering what she was having done. Ricky was with her from both pre op to post op and Lindsey finished off her stay in recovery. Caring is the first word that comes to mind closely followed by professional and simply knew their stuff! This was a difficult experience for my wife to handle and they helped every step of the way. There are not enough words to express her gratitude to the fullest! Thank you and yes, if you need to go this direction we highly recommend Dr. Hugh McPherson, Chris, his staff and the team at the OCC Surgery Center! Major shoutout to Erin L At UCHealth Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Clinic - Lone Tree. She's awesome! Unfortunately I've had nothing but bad experiences with the Inverness location. My assigned Physical Therapist, Cynthia Jacobson was unresponsive; taking anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to answer emails. She did not update my records (leading to weeks of wasted time, effort and back and forth). And ultimately lied about her conversations with myself, my surgeon and my insurance advocate. My much needed surgery is not able to be scheduled at this point. Leaving me seek therapy elsewhere. All of this could've been handled 6 weeks ago had she done her job! If you have the misfortune of working with this facility please keep this in mind, oh and don't bother going to their supervisors (they don't care either). Document everything.
