He was honest and up front saying that due to what was seen it was most likely surgery would be needed but he didn't push it on me. He gave me time to approach the situation with physical therapy and injections. I did make some progress but not enough to live a fully functional life without limitations like before. Dr. Aguwa was right, surgery it would be. He is very personable, considerate and caring. He makes sure you fully understand what will happen and things should be after surgery so you should not have any doubts in your mind. He is a miracle worker! I got to go home the same day of surgery. Before retirement, my principal job was reviewing healthcare organizations for a congressional committee of the U.S. Congress. Unlike today, this position at the time was totally non-political. The scope ranged from major multiple hospitals, clinics, rehab, nursing homes, and related healthcare organizations. Admittedly, I saw the full spectrum of healthcare quality - that is why I rate Dr. Sanjay Jatana and his team of professionals so highly - they represent the best possible confluence of surgical skill and knowledge with extraordinary people skills. Even in the years since my retirement about a decade ago, I saw the full-range of quality in healthcare. At the bottom end of the spectrum are surgeons who drag gargantuan egos through the hallways and produce bad results. One north Denver based surgeon spent a total of less than three minutes total over the course of two office visits with me for a Lumbar disc replacement, instinct told me to just walk out - I knew better - I wish I had. He did not even bother to stick his face behind the pre-op curtain before surgery and did not follow-up post-surgery, left me in excruciating pain of 10/10 for an hour because the nursing staff were terrified of talking to this guy, and finally saw me some three months later, almost an afterthought. He spent more time talking about his teaching engagement in Europe than caring about his patients. This is the exact opposite of Dr. Jatana and his team's approach - thank goodness. My training and expertise tell me that you cannot go wrong with the Jatana-team. I think he is the best I have ever seen!

His group (Denver Spine Surgeons) rocks, and has rocked the spinal micro-surgery and treatment world in the Rocky Mountain West for a long time. Of course everyone's different, and you should do your own research about who best meets your needs. But for me, I've found my treatment provider and it's DSS, without a doubt. He wrote he spent 55 minutes with me when he spent 5-10 minutes with me complaining about other DR's care and other patients. My recommendation is to go to another DR, record your visit or bring someone with you and review your medical record afterwards, as he will document from others notes and make things up. He has a long history of being scored 1 and most people do not review their medical records and may be unaware of his notes which may be totally inaccurate and impact your care. Please follow up with both medicare, the hospital and the medical board because he will harm people if he already has not based on his fabrications which Im sure started when he was a med student. I can not stress enough that lying on a medical reocrd is not only bad for you but a very bad practice.

However, I was able to get an assessment of several radiologists - the consensus opinion was that at best, the difference was 1/8th of an inch. Most people go through life not knowing that one leg may be up to an inch longer than the other. So a maximum difference is a bulls eye. I deleted my initial comment once I got a good report. Loucks is an outstanding surgeon.

With my blood pressure through the roof for me, it should be so low it barely keeps me conscious, and my cortisol through the roof, he won't re-scan for aneurysm because I don't have enough family members with aneurysm. Given the low cost of re-scanning and the high risk if there is an aneurysm, he is reckless as well as playing fast and loose with his medical license. All he wants to do is hassle people with his hysterics and be a drain on society. He talks down to patients. He is desperate to be seen as an expert but his demeanor does the opposite. His office violates your privacy and contacts people you never authorized him to contact. Be prepared that it will be near impossible to obtain your own records because nothing you ever say is considered a records request and they will not contact you under any circumstances to respond to a records request. The only way to get any records is to go down there because they will not give you your own records any other way. Do not book an appointment unless you will be in this area frequently. Records are only needed for liability purposes and are useless for medical purposes so perhaps that is why they don't want you to have your own records. His staff are nice and accommodating. The personality of Dr. and staff are always the opposite - either awful staff and a nice Dr. or the other way around, such as here. The one thing both staff and Dr. have in common here is changing their story all the time. The visit is a waste of time, money and energy. But he is 1/9 the cost of what specialists charged 16 years ago so you get what you pay for.

Major shoutout to Erin L At UCHealth Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Clinic - Lone Tree. She's awesome! Unfortunately I've had nothing but bad experiences with the Inverness location. My assigned Physical Therapist, Cynthia Jacobson was unresponsive; taking anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to answer emails. She did not update my records (leading to weeks of wasted time, effort and back and forth). And ultimately lied about her conversations with myself, my surgeon and my insurance advocate. My much needed surgery is not able to be scheduled at this point. Leaving me seek therapy elsewhere. All of this could've been handled 6 weeks ago had she done her job! If you have the misfortune of working with this facility please keep this in mind, oh and don't bother going to their supervisors (they don't care either). Document everything.
