    Cutting board made by Kini

Kini makes custom and gorgeous items to fit any space! He created custom cabinets for a space we wanted extra storage and they ended up the perfect height to bring everything on top to eye level. He is kind and easy going, every item is filled with intention and beauty.

Kini's a semi sweet salty dog Bostonian slinging wood back in Waimanalo. He was prompt in returning my call. And when I showed up looking for an outdoor logo/address plaque that would withstand Monoa Valley weathering for my commercial space he was helpful. (Appreciate meeting fellow East-Coasters). Took me for a ride of the golf cart; cause it was damn hot. Me and my not so little "Toto" 55lbs of canine jumped on the buggy toward the workshop and we chose the slab together. He gave me time to think about it by offering Kombucha! Around the way is Sky Kombucha facilities where you can pour yourself draft pints on the honor system. He got my raw slab sanded while we waited and enjoyed the scenery. Top notch service. Sassy man. Great quality wood plus much more. I was only looking a for a small slab and this was the place to get it. I was sent around town by my graphics people; who will end up engraving. They referred me to places like Pacific American Lumber, but that spot is massive and not really appropriate for these smaller kine projects. Needless to say though, there is some amazing local wood furniture to be found here. Plenty of selection and ability for customization. Mahalo Kini! (I'll update later with finished product)

Thru friends' recommendations I found this hole in the wall of a place. Kini is a super friendly guy who helped me find what I asked for and showed me many beautiful pieces at his showrooms. I picked out an eight feet long dining table with blue resins displaying sea shells, sand, and hand carved turtle and a shark....what a gorgeous piece, it definitely reminds me of the good ole beach times in Hawaii. My kids were definitely thrilled and remarked how pretty table is and remain fascinated with all the sea life and beach decors in the blue resins. I absolutely Iove the blue wave mirror i picked out at a whim, I can envision us looking at it everyday to check our hairs just before we head out of the house and it beams back our big smiles. I also picked out a card/tea table with matching chairs. Another piece to be treasured by our family for decades to come. Thanks to Kini, we are taking lots of fond memories with us in these gorgeous furnitures! Hawaii will always be in our hearts and in our home!

LOVE our table. We found Kini from his store front in Kailua, but the big show room is in Waimanalo. The Waimanalo shop has a few lime green signs to point you in the right direction, but is mostly secluded from curb view. Kini was great with entertaining our toddler while we picked the perfect coffee table for us. Kini let our little boy see the horses, which was an unexpected treat for the little guy. It was a very pleasant experience...we wouldn't consider buying tropical wood from anyone else.

We purchased our table at the end of time in Hawaii. Kini gave us a tour of his operation from start to finish. Really cool to see all the hard work and detail that goes into their products. We were able to pick out a monkey pod slab that was cut but unfinished. Kini had it made and finished in time for our movers to pick up before shipping to the mainland. He made two custom benches for one side of our table since it has a unique shape to it. We cannot wait to get it into our new house on the mainland! We will update with pictures when we get it set up. We looked at a couple other places but settled on Wood Working Hawaii because of the selection, locally made and sourced, and the quality. In a great location with views and horses for the kids to feed. This is one of those places that you should visit just to look around at the artwork and furniture and see how it is made!

Awesome shop in Kailua. The owner Kini worked with me to create a custom surfboard coffee table for my living room. Great shop, great customer service, and the end product came out amazing.

Kini & his team are masters at what they create! We went in to look at tables and he customized one for us and even delivered to the west side of the island in just four days!!!!!

The look and quality of this furniture is amazing! First trip to the shop and I knew I was about to break the bank! Started out with a paddle, and next trip got a dinner table! Wow.... picked out a rough cut slab of monkey pod and let Kini do the rest to include shipping to Vegas!!!!! Amazing one of a kind artistic beauty!!! Visit his shop see them work buy their stuff!!!!!!!!!

Kini rolled his eyes at me when I told him I wanted to put real pearls and an oyster shell in the acrylic of the table he was making for me, but after it was complete, I think he agreed it was quite awesome! I absolutely LOVE it, and Kini and everyone at Woodworking Hawaii were delightful, professional and timely to work with!

Ask the Community - Wood Working Hawaii

Hello, I'm curious to know how much a king size bed frame would run? I love your stuff but I want to make sure it's in the budget before we head down there. Thank you!

Aloha, price will depend on style of bed and if headboard is also needed.

What would the cost range of a monkey pod dining room table for six be? I'm re furnishing my home and seeing your ad I though maybe a good idea to go with all natural wood. I just needed a ball park figure to estimate cost of coffee table, end table

Aloha and mahalo for your inquiry. Our 6 person dining tables start at $2999. Call or text Kini: 808-227-9473 for specific table pricing.

It took me 3 visits to figure out what i really wanted and found my black leather reclining sofa. Ryan is very helpful and doesn't pressure you like salespeople at other furniture stores, he's very knowledgeable about the furniture. My only complaint that has nothing to do with this location is that the delivery men, both of them walked all over my carpet with their dirty shoes multiple times before I noticed since i was signing the order on their clip board. I thought they would stop walking on my carpet after they carried the sofa in but they did not. They should know better not to dirty carpets in Hawaii and to take off their shoes. I had to clean my carpet after they left and not happy about that. Part of it is my fault for not noticing. i recommend this place because the prices are cheaper and they had the perfect fit with a more light weight sofa for my small apartment. The ordering and delivery and everything went smoothly except for the delivery folks dirty shoes.

Advertised as up to 70% off. We could not find a dresser that was deeply discounted in that way. Nor were there any style of dressers we liked that were in stock AND under $1000 (except one that looked like a mountain person build it behind the barn. Someone is into that look). My salesperson coached me to photo the SKU of anything we liked so they could check stock. When we finally found something we liked that was in stock, we paid and set the delivery. This piece of furniture looks great. I really wanted to spend $800 but for $1300 we got a well built, mid-century modern-ish dresser that should last 20+ years. And it is not something we had to build (looking at you City Mill). The day before delivery we realized we never got the text to inform us of the scheduled window. Called the store and and discovered it hadn't been scheduled. Our sales person was in the store and they got on the phone with me to reschedule. They were sincerely apologetic. A couple days later we received a thank you card in the mail. The process isn't easy because furniture is so expensive. And most of it takes months to arrive. At homeworld (CS Woo etc.) I appreciate the support the sale team and delivery guys provide. Just please stop advertising a big sale when it is clearly NOT
