I first reached out to Rob because I really needed some help with some behavioral issues relating to patience and anxiety. When Rob came out to meet me and my horse for the initial consult he was able to pick up on the exact things I was looking to fix within the first 5 minutes without me telling him! He is incredibly perceptive and has such a calm presence and energy around horses that only comes with over 30 years experience. He truly knows and UNDERSTANDS horses. Rob helped me realize that my horse could use a lot more groundwork and foundational work before we worked on issues under saddle. Even though I've had my horse for over 3 years, I am still a first time horse owner so I know I still have a ton to learn. For example, I really wanted Rob to teach me what groundwork is and how to do it on my own. I found out there's a lot of things I let my horse get away with that were actually causing him more anxiety! I play polo and Rob even came out to watch me play polo to see how I interact with my horse on the field! Now with every lesson Rob is able to tie everything we are doing back to how that will benefit us on the polo field. Rob is such a kind, patient instructor that I feel like I've grown so much as a horse owner and as a rider. I look forward to my lessons every week and I am so fortunate to have found Rob as a trainer!

People there but you can move around and enjoy yourself. It's way too easy to spend too much and just get excited over the wins. There were so many awesome claw machines and a few other varieties of machines as well. Lots of different types of prizes to choose from, although plushies were in abundance. They are typical claw machines. Meaning, sometimes it will obviously drop your prize when it shouldn't because let's be real, they can't give you something EVERY time. You do get a lot of them though so if you don't get it on the first try just go again, it's expected. We did walk out with a lot of stuff. We got some things for friends/family but my partner works at a school so he was able to take some stuff there as well. I honestly wanted to keep too many because they're so cute but I don't have room for it all. I love this model though. Claw machines are a ton of fun and we really enjoyed it. The park is gravel road and sites, but we found it easy to park our 62' MH and Trailer in the site and had room for our pick-up. The facilities are newer with a very nice Club House. While we did not see the inside of the cabins, they appeared to have been recently constructed. If you don't have an RV but are looking for a convenient alternative to expensive hotels for your wine tour vacation, this is the place. While there are what appears to less that 4 full time residents, there are PLENTY of sites available. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and management actually did a walkabout while we were there. There is a winery adjacent to the property that I am sure would welcome your visit, as well several (10+) within 5 miles of the park. Lovely and peaceful this was a pleasant find. Huge parking space for hooking and unhooking trailers. We highly recommend this place.

It was when I was a kid…read more Set amongst the beautiful shady trees at Bush Park, it was a nice summer time activity that didn't result in heat exhaustion. My mother and I used to always go together and get the delicious chocolate and almond dipped ice cream bars. It was fabulous. Then, after several years of not visiting, I finally went summer of '09 since I now live within walking distance (parking is a nightmare). What a shock. Just shock. At least half of the artists aren't even from Oregon, let alone the Salem area. There were people as far away from Colorado and Arizona slinging their "art" for rip off prices. Yeah, I said rip off. Look, I understand that art may take time and that these people might do this as a living. That's not my problem. As a consumer and a customer, I refuse to believe that the salt and pepper shakers they painted took so much time and effort that they warrant that $90 price tag. Am I an idiot? No. In addition to the above rip-off, the Salem Art Association will now be charging admission to "enjoy" the fair. They believe that "it's a good deal.... and $5 isn't that much money..." You're right, it's not a great deal of money, but that really isn't the point. It's a craft fair, not a museum. It's purpose is to allow patrons to purchase art, not rip people off. But I can't be too harsh, can I? The SAA reports that they ONLY made $215,000 on last years art fair. Boo hoo hoo. They also further justify this $5 fee by claiming that this art fair is one of the best in the country. I don't know the source of this information, but considering what a dump Salem is, I have a hard time believing it. Gah! Just another reason to avoid Salem.

Going to haunted houses became an annual tradition with my friends since we turned 18. For our…read morefourth year, we all decided to travel to Hubbard for our tradition. Parking was a bit confusing, but there's a free lot, street parking and a 5 dollar parking lot. There is a wait before getting into the haunted houses depending on if your night slot is sold out, but really we only waited about 15-20 minutes after our selected slot so it's no big deal. We chose the classic manor. At first I went in thinking it wasn't too scary, but I was wrong. It was such a fun experience and I'm sure doing it in the dark would've been cool, but I did not have the guts for it. The place also has food, photos and a pumpkin patch. Milburn's Haunted Manor is so worth it!

The game shoots the ball if you don't take your turn fast enough. So don't go to the bathroom if your buddy is taking their turn. One more little bad thing. If you're planning on visiting, make a reservation for ether a group or private tour. The group tour is $15 per person while the private tour is $150 for the entire group. The only drawback with the group tour is you don't know how many people might be in it. We had almost 40 in our group and that was a bit too many in my opinion. When you arrive, check-in is inside the red barn. They'll let you know which group tour you belong to. They have port o' potties and hand washing stations behind the barn. If you end up getting any food from the food truck (ostrich sliders and ostrich philly steak style sandwiches), you can bring it into the barn where there's picnic style tables and benches. The "gift shop" is also inside the barn. If you do come on wet day or after it rains, be sure to wear appropriate shoes...it can get muddy as you walk from one animal area to another.

Their tour was running late- by late I mean 40 minutes... so we had to shuffle things around party wise. The tour consists I of seeing the animals. Didn't realize that the Ostrich were there for lol meat purposes. During the tour kiddos got to feed them. They have a few different areas to roam, with some tables. It's a decent sized place. I think it could use some TLC though.
