Jim Stephens is a man of his word and comes through every time. I appreciate Mike and Tom as they came back to fix a project that their salesmen Scott Pietrzak created. Everyone at Woodford has been really helpful except Scott, I would stay away from using him as your point of contact salesmen. Both Tom and Mike came over to review the problems even though Mike was on crutches! Very impressive. I had two projects with them for a total of $25,000.00. At the Woodford Brothers web site I requested help with a sagging porch and they set me up with an appointment. I received a call before the appointment and heard two things that suggested they weren't the right company for me. First, during the phone call I was encouraged to read the material they'd sent me in the mail describing in detail the specific services they offered. That was a red flag for me because we had not yet established what specific service would be the best solution for my specific need. In fact, during the visit, the Woodford person ended up proposing a contract for a service that did not match the pre-printed material they'd wanted me to read. In other words, the company was initially focused on specific solutions before they had determined the problem. Second, during the call the 5% discount for same-day signing of the contract at the time of the visit was mentioned. That was also a red flag for me because it indicated that they didn't want the kind of customer who evaluates multiple options and then selects the best fit. During the visit, the Woodford person made it clear that he was not familiar with the three or four sentences I had written at the Woodford web site to describe my problem in the first place. That seemed to indicate a basic flaw in the operation of the business. I would be wary of this company. read more

We wanted our French drain redone and they recommended a sump pump system despite our driveway being downhill. Since they are the "experts" we agreed. $9,000 later and we are now on our third pump in 2 years and continue to have flooding in our garage every time we get a heavy rain. READ THIS POST BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH WOODFORD BROS. They were retained to replace my sister's gutters for $10.3K. They wanted a $3.1K deposit which she had to pay in cash because their "credit card reader failed". This amount turned out to be excessive and in violation of NY law. The work was schedule for December of last year. Without notifying her, they rescheduled the installation for March of this year... without her consent. However, my sister who signed the contract became seriously ill... is in the hospital... and would not be available to supervise the work at that later date... a date they rescheduled to do the work without my sister's consent or knowledge. As such, a demand for return of the full deposit was made and refused by Woodford. We will be taking further action. UPDATE While it was inexcusable to have withheld the deposit, Woodford is making a full refund of the remaining deposit and promised to send it certified mail the same day. They did waterproofing for me a couple of years ago, and when they dug and re-poured the concrete around the perimeter of my basement, they left the floor with a significant and uneven slope. I didn't notice how bad it was right away because I've been slowly saving up and doing small projects over time to turn the space into a playroom. Once I finally started bringing in professionals to move forward, the issues became impossible to ignore. The slope is so severe that I can't get flooring installers to lay carpet, and shelving can't safely sit against the wall without leaning -- which is a serious safety hazard since this room is meant for my two-year-old. I've called the company multiple times and was told I'd receive call-backs, but no one follows up. No real solution has been offered, and they've shown no willingness to fix the problem. Even a professional from Lowe's said they had never seen a job done like this and that it absolutely shouldn't look this way. For the cost of the project and the trust I put in this company, I expected far better. I would strongly recommend getting multiple opinions before choosing Woodford Brothers. read more

I am so glad I didn't go with them. They failed big time with me in the quoting process. Not a company I would do business with. I don't care how well known they are. I think they are becoming like McDonalds. I actually will use their own responses to reveal why. I just want you to ready the responses to the 1 star reviews. Especially Theresa B. who had to cancel. No though that people these days are having hard times. So if you have to cancel because your family falls on hard times, they will hold the contract up to your face and with and with their best Mr. Potter voice(Its a Wonderful Life) they will tell you too bad so sad, it is in the contract. I hired Woodford Brothers to install a Radon system in my home. I live in Radisson and had my home tested to see if I had a radon problem as a couple of my neighbors had tested homes and were found to have a high level of radon. Within two weeks after the testing, they were able to install the radon system in my basement. I highly recommend them. When they were done, they explained everything to me. They were very professional. I highly recommend them and I feel a lot more at ease. I want to thank Trey Foster and his assistant for the great job they did. read more

Be very careful before you sign anything. We had to cancel the job, a full month before it was scheduled to begin. They keep 15% of your down payment. Our " free quote" ended up costing us $800.00! Just an update on my situation. I wrote an email to the management about my situation. I was then contacted a few days later by the salesperson, who told me that they would be will willing to give back half of my 15% deposit or to do the grading work I asked about and apply that amount to it. Still not totally satisfied, but will take what I can get. Was told they have already paid the commission money to the salesperson, so can't ask them to give it back. Another thing to ask when someone comes to take a look at your house is do they work on commission. If so, they might not have your best interests in mind. read more

If we could give no stars we would. We had called for an estimate for radon remediation, then didn't need their services. But the calls, texts, and mailings will not stop. We'd canceled an appointment, someone called the next day thinking it was still on. Then the next day we get another call would you like to reschedule. We said no. Then today another call would you like to reschedule. Then 2 mailings, and 4 texts. Apparently there is no way to make it stop. Although the salesman was competent who came out to my house, their pricing was outrageously expensive. The salesman promised that he would go back to his office to "rework " the numbers to see if there was a meeting of the minds and I never heard from him. Extremely unprofessional.
