This pictures don't do justice to this place. You have experience this place with your eyes. I found this park in fall and went there few times in last weeks of fall before snow. I just envy the people who live close to this place. There were few houses close by, that have balconies opening to lake view. Oh it must be so amazing to wake up everyday to this heavenly view!!

There is a dedicated parking lot at Skyvalley Crescent but it can get busy as it's one of the only ones. The issue with parking is that the neighboring suburbs do not allow for street parking, so it makes parking a little difficult. There are a lot of well maintained and wide trails that people were using for a stroll, bikes (we did see some aggressive bikers so listen for bells), and jogging. Dogs are allowed here as well, as long as they are leashed. There are "non-official" trails that can take you down to the creek - these ones are narrower and not of the brush has been cleared away. To get really close to the water you kind of have to walk through these. There is a payoff during late September and early October as you can see the salmon run! They are a little hard to spot but just wait by areas where there is some rocky elevation in the creek. Those are the choke points where they're normally charging up to make a leap!

The park is in Oakville that kind of 1 hr from Toronto. The traffic today was not too bad, we followed GPS to a resident area that saying not able to access the park from there, we parked the car across the street, and walked along the trails. However, we walked about 30 mins, we got to a parking lot again that stating this one is the Lions Valley Parking Lot. That means the one we entered from was part of the park. But not the main entrance. Since we don't have too much time today, we couldn't finish the whole park visiting. If we can have a better sign to show the park from the difference entrance, that would be much better.

This is a nice park with lots of hiking trails and lush woods, offering plenty of shades on a sunny day. The only trail that allows you to go down to the creek is #6 Half Moon Valley Trail. I would also recommend #4 Lookout Ravine Trail which is almost completely covered by trees and would be beautiful in the fall. You shouldn't miss the famous White Oak Tree, likely germinated since 1685 and at least 300 years old, close to parking lot A. The Spruce Lane Farmhouse is another highlight near parking lot F, which is a Victorian-style house showing visitors what life was like back then. The antique furniture, well-decorated rooms, farm equipment, and friendly volunteers wearing Victorian costumes gave us an immersive experience at the farm. The only problem is that the amenities are a bit dated, especially with the signage. The park staffs should hand out free maps as you enter the park, and there should be more directions as to where you are. I often had to rely on Google to check location and the pre-downloaded map from their website. The swimming pool remains under renovation as of summer 2024, so the park is not yet at its full potential.

I was exhausted, especially when my flight was delayed and everyone on it ended up sitting at the gate at Toronto Pearson for an extra thirty minutes. Anyway, I was fortunate to get a late checkout at the hotel. I grabbed a bite to each and drove over to Coronation Park. You can't miss it if you're driving on Lakeshore Road. It's a large, beautiful park. I was hungry (I slept in until 11 am, so this meal was breakfast). I didn't manage taking any photos of this park. I'll need to the next time I'm in the area. It has a parking lot. I'd guess that it has at least 200 parking spaces. I had no problem finding a spot at nearly 1 pm on a Tuesday. However, if there's a festival or some event happening at this park, I can see parking being a problem. It's a lovely park, whether you are walking through it to soak in the views and Lake Ontario, or you're bringing the kids and family for an outing. It has a waterfront path where you can walk, bike, run, or skate. I liked seeing a large gazebo. It had picnic benches under it where you can enjoy food and drinks with family and friends. For kids, there's a splash pad in the summertime. It also has playgrounds for kids to run around and play I saw volleyball courts. If you're into volleyball, this park is definitely for you. There are public washrooms. I did see a snack bar, but I couldn't tell if it was open for business when I was here. I was too focused eating! It was a pleasant surprise to find this park. I'd return again when I'm not hungry, to focus on its beauty more. (293)

As tradition holds with my reviews of parks, I'm gonna let off some steam. I'm tired. Ever since me reviewing rotisserie chickens in outdoor spaces went semi-viral, I've been giving this everything I got. My entire soul. I've sat at my corporate 9-5 job for years dreaming about something like this to happen, so when it finally did, I was ready. I pounced. I said to myself "yeah you're exhausted, but this is the time. It's quite literally now or never." I've given it everything, so at least at the end of the day I can look myself in the mirror and say I tried. I tried my best. Working a 9-5 job in tech sales while doing the writing, editing, eating, filming, traveling, etc. for this has taken every ounce of my being. It's starting to get to me. I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining at all, I'm actually extremely grateful, but I just want to stay raw and honest. The reality is there are highs and lows with everything, and I'm just trying to learn how to navigate them. Seeing that Sports Science guy end it all the other day made me so sad. Like damn that guy brought so much joy to my childhood. Even he was going through it!?!? He looked so happy all the time. I just think it's important to get this stuff out of my head and onto metaphorical paper. Maybe this one should have just stayed in my journal, but whatever. I've been there for some walkathon type events and that was great too. Good space for things like that. Overall a fun place to go, especially in the fall when it's so pretty with all the colored leaves. If you are in the area and aren't sure what to do, it's a great place to run or walk or even sit outside and draw or read. Not many big parks like this around. A friend likes to go there and take pics and I tag along, just cuz it's nice to get outside and walk around. I love it so I'd like to say more but I can't think of what I've forgotten to mention. I guess just keep in mind there is construction on Dundas and by the entrance right now.
