I stumbled on this tree farm and now it's an annual tradition to go and pick out a tree. You can check out a saw and cut your own, have them cut one for you, or buy a precut tree. They pull the tree all together for you, offer to help tie it to your car and the prices are extremely reasonable. It's a wonderful family owned local business that really starts the season off in a joyous way. We won't go anywhere else!

Finally we found a beautiful, symmetrical and great smelling tree! They provide saws and a cart there so it only took a few minutes to get it down and then wheel it over to pay. Included in the price is a good shaking down of the tree and wrapping it snuggly with twine. They also gave us 6 little wooden tree ornaments! Overall a fun and memorable experience for the family, would love to go back in the future.

The farm itself is gorgeous and has a good view of the mountains, hence the name. They sell their trees by the type, rather than by the height which is a great idea. They have a wide variety of trees, ranging from scotch pine, douglas fir, blue spruce, and two different types of cypresses (blue ice and shenandoah emerald). Our scotch pine was about 9 feet tall and was only $32. There is a good selection of wreaths (approx. $23-$34) and some handmade ornaments. If you are indecisive like me, leave plenty of time to wander around and pick out the perfect tree. They also shake the tree (takes off the loose needles) and bag it for free.

When she makes planters you can choose your plants and/or she can give you suggestions. She is really good with placement and thinking about height and fill. She made me a planter with five herbs that fits down in a ceramic pot that I have, the herbs all looked very healthy and vibrant. My Mom had her do this a couple years ago and many of the herbs are still alive and well, despite being in the basement for the Garrett county winter. She also made me a beautiful succulent planter. She has a great variety of succulents, and I wish I could have gotten one with even more succulents, but I only had so much space. She put rocks on top, and the colors just look beautiful together. I also bought an additional mint plant, plus the two planters with plants for $45. The prices here are extremely good, but the customer service is outstanding. I bought these to take back to my condo in DC because the prices and service are so much better, and her soil she pots things in is very healthy.
