No uniform or name tag to identify as an employee; sitting at a table not behind the registration desk-another employee identified the manager on duty ; I requested some sausage and eggs- she said she was no longer serving breakfast- very rude & hostile attitude another family came to eat as well. We told her we would no longer be staying here, she stated "Good, we don't want you here anyway ". Not all management was like this- maybe she was having a bad day but definitely need some work on people skills.

This was one of those times. I booked the hotel online about 3 months in advance for a 2 Queen bed suite. When I arrived I was given a 2 Double bed regular room. When I told the front desk that they gave me the wrong room and that I booked a suite they tried to fix the situation by moving me to a suite but UH OH all the suites were booked and we were forced to stay in a much smaller regular room. The front desk attendant knocked $30 of the stay, gave us a free fridge, and gave us 2,000 extra points for our stay. I appreciate their attempts to make me happy and I know it's not their fault so I accepted and went on with my day. I, however, plan on contacting holiday inn's online booking to complain. The room itself was actually pretty nice and the beds were comfortable. The internet was pretty slow, but still better than most places I've stayed at. The breakfast was pretty stocked with a pancake machine and a really good hot breakfast. Overall my stay was good and the staff was really great, but this mix up has dug up an already sour taste in my mouth about Holiday Inn and I will reiterate that you should always stay somewhere else unless you have no other choice. I give the Holiday Inn Express Devils Lake 3 Doubledays.

Trails West has the added bonus of a good family restaurant right across the lot and great rates. By no means luxury accommodations, this is a motel built for folks visiting to fish, and for that they have ideal parking for boat trailers, and no fish cleaning station yet, but there are signs that one is coming. We followed the instructions as stated on the sign. Mind you, we paid in full for our weekend stay in advance. When we were finally able to speak with someone (who was probably on site as well) he sounded like it was a major inconvenience for us to arrive and ask to check in to a hotel that we had already paid in full. He then proceeded to rudely tell us that he did not have a room for us and that his housekeeper was gone for the day and therefore there were no clean rooms available - I told him we paid for our stay already. He did not want to help us and just hung up the phone. We ended up going to a different hotel - that was much nicer and has better customer service. Would never book here again, horrible customer service. Do not recommend.

We upgraded to a jacuzzi tub when we arrived. When we wanted to use it, it had about an inch of…read moredirt around the top and scum over the whole tub. It was really gross! I wiped up some of the dirt and brought it to the front desk in the morning and asked for a refund for the upgraded portion of my stay. The front desk employee said he could not refund anything and it was out of his hands. Just an "I'm sorry" and that he had no power to refund, only the owner could and she wasn't there. Beyond the tub being gross the whole hotel is pretty unclean and the hot tub is unusable in the pool area. Definitely a dive hotel!
